Happy Holidays cruisers! I'm wondering if anyone was aboard the Ruby for Christmas and how was their experience? We were scheduled to go but on Friday, Dec 22nd (yes, less than 24 hours before boarding) we got a call from Princess in which we were offered a "Move Over" deal we couldn't refuse. Offer included FREE 7 night cruise anytime in the next year, free cabin upgrade from balcony to minisuite, and ALL our previously paid cruise fare given back as fully refundable on board credit!!! But I'd still love to hear about the trip!

When a ship is severely overbooked, like they are on many holiday cruises, they will call certain passengers to offer a move over deal. We were scheduled to leave today, Dec. 23rd on the Ruby for 7 nights to Mexico in a Premium aft balcony. Yesterday, around 2pm after I'd finished packing, Princess Rep called and offered an AWESOME move over deal. We can take any 7 night cruise leaving from the USA, be given an upgrade to a minisuite, and ALL our cruise fare from this cruise will be credited to our onboard account, and any not used on chosen cruise will be refundable. So yep, a free cruise!!! We took it. Going to Alaska in a minisuite which costs almost twice as much...and don't have to pay the difference. Great deal, worth the change in plans for us!

We just got off the Crown yesterday and really enjoyed the trip. Lots of people up late enjoying the shows, the great band Static, the magician etc. We are 60 years old and don't usually stay up late. We were on the younger side of the typical cruiser on this ship. Food was better than our last Princess cruise, ship is ready for refurbishment coming soon, new beds will be welcomed for sure. Staff was wonderful and alcohol seemed available very late on this cruise. Lots of BOGO for $1 deals. We had an aft cabin which we usually enjoy but this cabin B756 is located next to the food vent and was very smelly and noisy. I wouldn't book that cabin again. Made me nauseous like when I was last pregnant 28 years ago. LOL overall great cruise and we are going again in January, September, and December 2017. On Ruby my favorite west coast ship.
