I am really upset that you as a "handicap" person states you hate it when able bodied people take up an accessible cabin.
You cannot see everything. My husband looks perfectly fine. But he has chronic pain and several other issues. He must have a flat surface. We are in an accessible cabin so he does not have to worry about the steps up and down. I also feel safer.
So your words say just because his handicap cannot be seen by you he should suffer in a regular cabin and risk getting injured every day? I think not.

Why would this be a response to what I said? I just suggested a YouTube channel!

1st time cruise. I'm disabled, and usually bring my scooter for vacations because I can't walk long distances. I am fine walking around the room, and since I'll be with a friend/caretaker I don't need an accessible bathroom or shower or anything along those lines.
We weren't able to get an accessible room, and honestly I don't need one and I'd feel guilty taking it from someone who did -- when I travel alone I DO need accessibility and it's so frustrating seeing able bodied people in an accessible room when I can't get one.
Anyway, my concern is the scooter. All I need to do is be able to bring it into the cabin overnight. I don't need to ride it in the cabin at all. Is that possible in a regular room? We're on the Carnival Ecstasy in an oceanview room. If need be, my travel companion can break down the scooter and carry it into the cabin, and lean the pieces upright in the closet. That's what we'll do if we have to. It would just be easier to fit it through the door.
I'm a tiny person and it's a small 3-wheel scooter -- 21" width. Does anyone know if I'l be able to wheel it in through the door and put it somewhere that won't be directly in our path from the bed to the bathroom? Or will we definitely need to break it down every time?
You might find some of what you are looking for on YouTube channel Cruising with Wheels.

Which drops you closer to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal - the Bolt Bus leaving from Cherry Hill, NJ or Greyhound leaving from Mt. Laurel, NJ? Is one easier than the other?
Also, does anyone know how much a cab will cost from the bus to the port?
Thanks for your help!!!
check with Academy bus lines in New Jersey. They go from N.Y. to A.C. so they may go from south jersey to port authority then a cab shouldn't be more than $10-15 not sure though about prices.

If you book with a reputable outside excursion company, you should have no problem. I would also discuss with them about getting you back an hour or so before the last onboard (which is usually an hour before leaving). Leave yourself a buffer. Alaska should be "low risk" and you should be OK. We did not do any ship tours. Juneau we dud whale watching with a local tour company. Ketchikan, we did kayaking with a local company. The port boards are very helpful...
With that said, ports where you have to go "further" or where transportation or terrain is dodgy- opt for the ship tour... For instance, when we did the Falkland Islands and we were going in to the bigs to see penguins (occasionally getting stuck) and there are only two flights out per week, you better believe we did a ship tour. Even when we went to Florence, Italy, it was 1.5 hrs inland and Italian trains are unpredictable - we used the ship transportation to the city.

We have had a 6:30am room service for coffee and pastries no charge
Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app
On NCL continental breakfast from about 6-10am is complimentary. Coffee, juice, pastries, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, and fruit plate all on an order form left on your door before 4 am. Not sure of the start time but I have had it arrive before 7 am.

This is fantastic, Thx for posting. Does "excluded" mean we pay difference above $15, or full price? My husband loves Patron.
So I can order club soda with lime for free with UBP, but not Perrier? Are virgin frozen daiquiri s included?
I have never ordered any drink on past cruises that went above $15, but I have heard the amount above $15 is billed to your account.

Can't you take a break from drinking Coke and indulge on the cocktails/highballs/froufrous/martinis/mojitos whilst on cruise??!!
Take a vacation! Don't take home to vacation! ;p:rolleyes:
I like that idea!

I'm booked on 4-night next May. I tried to book a specialty restaurant on the HA site and got the message that reservations not available at this time. Does this mean I am too early? Too late?
If it's like NCL they don't allow reservations till 90 days out from the cruise.

They will also need money for tipping porters etc. This cruise makes no sense to me.:*
I guess it's a well intended stress relief, but they may want to present these added needs of money even if the other tipping is avoided. The daughter may get them a prepaid visa/MC they can assign to their onboard account.

Well if spending a dollar to have an umbrella drink for sailaway makes me an alcoholic, I better research where that Friends of Bill W meeting is :)
if you believe in the need for a higher power which is in reality the humans with you in the room! I like the idea of trying something that cost more sometimes if I have not had it before. Though when having fun in the casino many drinks are available with their drink card too! It's all about choice and your budget. Drink up shriners! LOL

Yes, buses go to the street level...that's where they're supposed to go, but taxis are supposed to go up to the next level. The signage makes that very clear and if there's someone there directing traffic they make it clear too.
So you are pushing back, but I did what I did and I stated what I did! State what you believe and move on!

Post of the decade! If a dollar figures into ones decision as to having a drink, maybe one should stay home.
While in the back of the mind one hears "I'm not an alcoholic, I'm not an alcoholic, I'm not an alcoholic! " I just have to have that drink no matter the cost! LOL (laugh out low)

The ramp has been there for as long as I've been using the cruise terminal, which is for more more years than I care to remember. There is only one motor vehicle entrance at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal and the ramp is directly in front of you as you drive in. The sign clearly directs cars to take the ramp up to the departure level and often there are police officers or port employees directing you to go that way. You have make a slight jog to the right to drive in on the ground level and normally buses, large passenger vans and trucks making deliveries to the cruise terminal are the vehicles permitted to use the ground level...not that some automobiles don't from time to time (I've been picked up on the ground level upon occasion) but more often than not they don't want automobiles on street level.
Yes, I know, but I have always gone where three buses and taxis go on the street level.

We just got off the Escape on Saturday. Prime Rib was served at least twice at O'Sheehans. On the last day (Friday-Nassau) we had a prime rib appetizer before we packed and ate to a late dinner. My cut of medium-rare was done perfectly. This was one of the best meals of the week. To my surprise, I thought it was much better than the porterhouse at Cagney's earlier in the week.
Was it mentioned in the Free Style Daily the night before? How did you learn of them having Prime Rib in O'Sheehans? Were there a lot of diners there for that? I hope the Pearl has a night or two of that!

Not so. Taxis and other arriving vehicles that are dropping off passengers are normally directed up the ramp to the first level. They are not supposed to drop off passengers on street level. They might come in on the street level once in a while but that's not what they're supposed to do.
my brother drove us and picked us up on the street level and I don't remember any ramp when we went in 2015

Sky (with open bar for all) has a higher DSC.
I am getting UBP free with my inside room on the Pearl $13.99 DSC that was what NCL put out. Here in the USA it could be different I suppose.

Let me be more specific. I'm talking embarkation IF there is a vending machine after security.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I was getting on the breakaway after security in the terminal there were food vendors and a few vending machines with water and soda before heading on to the ship.

Special Needs at Sea are wonderful about renting just about anything you might need. I rented a wheelchair, and total cost was 95$ for the whole 7 day cruise. As a plus, the wheelchair was waiting in my suite, and when the cruise is over, just leave it in the suite, they will pick it up. Easy peasy.
There is a YouTube channel called "Cruising with Wheels" where you may find wheelchair info.

Will be on Vista and plan is to rent a car on 2nd street as soon as we disembark.
From There head to FLL to the Everglades for the air boat one hour ride.
Grab lunch then head to airport for a 245 checkin for our 445 flight (after return car)
Is there enough time for everything?
What day will you disembark? Some rental places aren't open on Sunday and can have limited hours on Saturday.

I am a bit confused about the taxi drop-off process at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
I have read several posts indicating the drop-off is on street level, other threads indicate drop-off is on second level and luggage is taken down to level one via elevator where it is given to a porter.
We will not be parking. Does the taxi drop off on level one (which I assume is street level), where the porters take our luggage and then we proceed to customs hall on level 2?
Thank you for the clarification.
yes all arriving vehicles are on the street level. A vehicle can either drive south from George Washington bridge and turn right into terminal street level or driving north from Lincoln tunnel and turning left into street level entrance and going down to the ships terminal number where porters will take bags after a certain time. Taxis should be familiar with this as long as you know the terminal number.

A lot of people like to look at excursions and ports of call information before they cruise. I'm not those people. This is based on the most recent information I was able to locate. I won't be able verify it in person for a couple of months, but it should be reasonably accurate. Please note that these are liquor prices from the menu and not every single drink out there. There are some INCLUDED drinks which are made with EXCLUDED spirits, but from what I've been able to determine, the liquor woud be excluded unless it was in that special magical potion on the list. (Patron Silver is an example.)
I included Caps & Corks as a public service. I didn't include the District Brew House list.
