Here is my fam's dinner at Bonsai Teppanyaki on Saturday 4/14/18; 7:15pm seating, during the maiden voyage of the Carnival Horizon.
Spoiler Alert: It was delicious!
Enjoy!
Video recorded on the iPhone X.

They're a fantastic tour company; just used them in December!

Wow, that's a tough one to single out as a total favorite. For me, beer- Guinness, whiskey- Crown Royal, gin- Plymouth or Bombay Sapphire, vodka- Amsterdam, rum- Cruzan dark, bourbon- Maker's Mark but will do others. All are taken neat, not mixed.
Sadly, Carnival doesn't carry Makers anymore...I made the switch to Woodford Reserve

Carnival has a strict no-nutella policy ;p

If you booked with a credit card and end up not being able to go, issue a chargeback for the deposit amount stating the deceit you just described above by the agent.

In the past I would have said YES! After our first experience with the new menu, I probably wouldn't.
The new menu is FANTASTIC. The Bone Marrow and the Pork Belly are soooo good!! The steaks are still great... The Wagyu, admittedly is less than stunning but the rest are really good and cooked to perfection.
The new "salt" menu choices are a bit confusing and I just picked one that sounded good...purely based on its name but I cant imagine it makes that much of a difference.
And if you want a cool show at the end, your table should order the "Art" dessert choice. But be warned, if you order this, theres maybe only one chef that does this and may take awhile to begin. I ordered it once and it was VERY cool, but probably wouldn't order it again bc it took too long to an already long dining experience.

It was a promo Carnival was running.

Anyone else grab one of these? They were selling for $1.00 but appear to be sold out now.

I just think having the hand sanitizer dispensers empty everytime I tried to use them and only cleaning after the fact instead of proactively was odd since every other cruise I have been on I see people cleaning all the time
Yikes! Didn't even use em once...:o

Also waiting for this...I hit up John on FB about a month ago and he said it will be announced "soon"

I was on this cruise too with 21 other people...none of us got sick at all and didn't hear of anything going around. Not to say it wasn't happening, just my experience. We all had a great time even with the Grand Cayman sh*t show. We had a planned excursion through a 3rd party which had to be cancelled but since they sent a bus anyway for us, he was kind enough to drop us off and pick us up at a cool bar on the beach, Royal Palms I think.
And yea, the last day their whole Sail & Sign system was jacked. We were in the steakhouse and waited about an hour for our checks which sucked because people in our group also had to cash out at casino. Could have been handled better, but, it happens.
In short, to offer a differing view on the same ship, we all had a great time and it flew by and can't wait to do out next one.
I am sorry to hear though that a lot of people were sick :( That can really damper anyone's mood.

Has anyone tracked which ships have the new breakfast menus?
Sunshine had it in Sept 2017

Go to the port on debarkation day and hold up a sign that says "Will cruise in your place for free!" :)
Good luck to you...I'm sure you'll get on if you keep checking as there are often last min cancellations especially on the few days leading up to the cruise. Also, keep calling as often the website isn't updated if there's just one opening.

MistyRo76,
I'll be doing the same cruise w a group of friends on Dec 10. I wonder if you could keep and scan your funtimes from this trip and send to me or post on here afterwards?
And I co-sign what Domino D said. Both accurate statements.

I park here everytime - love it: https://parkcruise.com/

They have at least one flavor at every bar I've found, but you'll find all the flavors at the Coffee Bar (Java Blue, I think is what its called)

don't think you understand what an App is. If it's an IOS device, you go to App store and download any App
I don't think you understand how Apple Watch works...
But no, there is no specific app for Apple Watch...only receives notifications

This was bar-non the best independent-excursion I've ever been on and it was in Amber Cove. Me and a group of about 15 friends did it. The tour operator cannot come in the gate to the port so you have to make a small walk past the gate to the left to get the bus. From there it was amazing.

You need to enter in your folio and DOB on a carnival landing page to get access to the wifi...so unless you were connected to your iPhone, it wouldn't work.
I have used my iPhone to connect to the internet though (Carnival Hub for instance) and notifications do show up on my Apple Watch.

1) 2nd night is elegant
2) don't remember
3) IMAX first-run movies are 12.95/adult 9.95/children under 12 and adults over 55. Thrill Theater is 5.50/pp

Only alcoholic drinks, as far as I have found non-alcoholic drinks are unlimited.
Correct, only 15 and the count pertains to alcoholic drinks only. All NA drinks are unlimited.
So, there is no such thing as a 16th alcoholic drink. You are cutoff completely at 15. You cannot even buy another drink once you've hit 15.
That being said, I have had luck saying at like 13 or 14 "I'm going to buy my next drink"...and so on...until the end of the night and then using my last drink when I'm done" YMMV

Starts day 2 sailing out of Galveston
Thanks! I knew it was another port too but too lazy to look it up :)
No IMAX on the carnival panorama
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Personally, I've LOVED having both the IMAX and Thrill Theater on the Vista and Horizon. They really did an amazing job with picture and sound quality and I can honestly say, they were among the best movie experiences I've had because of that. Furthermore, in my mind I will think of the Panorama as a bit less of a ship if it is indeed removed.
That being said, I heard through a separate grapevine that IMAX (the company) just charges way too much for the movies. I would suggest that Carnival do remove the IMAX moniker, show standard versions of new releases, and charge a bit less. It would still be a great experience.
