You don't really NEED reservations, Key or not.. There is a standby line for every show and you'll have no problem getting into everything... except maybe the adult comedy b/c the venue is pretty small.
Yes. Guess I didn’t completely explain. I was told you needed reservations even if you had The Key if you wanted to get there early for a seat. Thanks for clearing it up for the OP. Everything is so confusing for those that haven’t cruised or it’s been a long time.

Was told that even with The Key you need reservations.

We’ve done close to 30 cruises but never on Holland America. Wanting to do Alaska and Holland looks best for us. So….Noordam or Nieuw Amsterdam? Which and why. Looking at the 11 or 12 land/sea tour.

We’re seasoned cruisers but only 2 or 3 with Carnival. What are journey cruises, how are they different and what makes them special?

This may not be the correct board to post and I’ve also posted on my roll call but it’s not very active. Flying into Quebec and first time in Canada. Do we need any documents? Any forms to fill out? ANYTHING other than passport??? Scared to death we’ll get to the airport or to customs and be denied because of something we didn’t do.

We received our full deposit. Was told it would take about 2 weeks, but it actually took closer to 2 months (for the first amount). It was refunded in 3 different segments. Received the fees and taxes first, then a strange amount shortly afterwards. The remaining $107 and cents came about a month later.

Thank you for the comparison. We’re diamond + with Royal and have a number with various other lines. This will be our first with Princess. Looking for a quieter, calmer line.

Looking at Hotel Manoir Victoria. Thoughts? Opinions? Could I uber from aiport to hotel, hotel to cruise port?

We haven't cruised with Princess since 2010 and reboarding with Princess in 2024. The MDR is open on embarkation day if they want something to eat and don't want to go to the buffet.
All dining rooms?

Just a thought…Since #3 was free and #4 would be paying for double, why couldn’t #3 just change sleeping arrangement once onboard and pay #4 individually for half?

What about ice? We will usually go back to our cabin after lunch for a while and like to have a soda or cold water and again after we get back to our cabin at night. Steward would give us ice morning and evening. Since no ice machines, where would we get ice?

Is it possible to request a table for 2 and not be seated with others? If so, how is it done and when?

Do aft facing balconies on deck 7 (not jr suites) have chairs and loungers? Can't get a clear answer. Only old YouTube videos.

Oh geez…did they have the key and suite members meet in one place or were you told to just go to the front of the line? That wouldn’t be cool.
We were instructed to go to the regular self assist area and when debarking starts to just walk to the front of the line. We thought that there would be a staff member directing things...but NOOOOO...not a good thing!!

Do you mean suite, pinnacle, and key guests proceed to the front of the self disembarkation line? I have seen the line get very long!
This is what they told us to do on Liberty in September. NOT a good thing.....almost started a riot.

Does the key offer priority debarkation? Is there an assigned area keys wait to debark in front of everyone else lined up for debarkation, or just get in line with the rest of the self-carry folks?

What was the approximate cost for uber from port to ny airport?
-
Their "sales" are just marketing gimmicks. Prices artificially inflated to be able to offer a large discounts that looks good and the price is just what it was before the "sale". It's confusing to everyone except us old timers that know better. The worst thing it's done is to virtually eliminate our loyalty balcony discount.

Updating this after 14 years (wow lol)
We haven't been on Princess in a while, as you can see from my signature, but we are going back on the Caribbean Princess and the Ruby for a Panama Canal Cruise and I found myself looking at a 14 year old thread of mine trying to find where the aft cabins were. Talk about a strange thing to see.
I will check out some other ships and do this for them little by little, or if anyone request them, I will make sure to do YouTube Videos on the Cabins - we will be in B748 for the Caribbean Princess and C752 for the Ruby Princess.
We have our first Princess cruise booked. I’m unfamiliar with cabin categories. What category are these cabins?

First time Princess cruiser here. Do we need to order our medallions or will they just show up a couple of weeks prior to cruise?

If you are platinum or elite, and you buy ahead, it is $5/day for single device and $10/day for 4 device plan. Otherwise $10 and $20. It costs more if you wait. If you have a lot of shipboard credit, you can buy the single plan now to get the lower price (can't use shipboard credit) and upgrade onboard and use OBC for that portion, still at the lower price. I did this last week.
Thank you. Can I buy the 4 device package and my husband log on also as long as no more than 4?

You can use the app to order wifi before the trip, and activities might start to show up a week or 2 before sailing. We could not see menu until on the ship. Enjoy the surprise 😃
How much is the WiFi?

Yes it is - but when you sail from Baltimore, much of your time to the Virginia Capes will be in the dark — as will most of your returning hours up the bay.
But, I was really questioning how similar the itineraries would be. Sailing from Cape Liberty puts you in the Atlantic by early evening, while sailing from Baltimore puts you in the Atlantic early morning the next day - several hundred miles to the south. If both sailings were to Bermuda, the itineraries would be similar; otherwise, not so much.
Vision - Baltimore....Sea day, Boston (8-6), Portland (8-6), Bar Harbor (8-6), St John (7-5), Halifax (11-7), Sea day, Sea Day, Baltimore.
Liberty - New Jersey... Sea, Boston (8-6). Portland (8-6), Bar Harbor (8-6), Sea day, St John (8:30-8:30), Sea day, New Jersey
