  1. No problemo. I can feel the love they have for you and maybe some of it might rub off on me! 🤣😉
  2. Speaking of bathrooms, there is a tub, but there was no stopper for the tub. No problemo. I found in my stash of assorted OTC drugs one that was a near perfect fit, wrapped some plastic wrap around it and wedged it in. I don't think a drop go by it. Maybe better that the real deal. And a myth busted that has been busted before.
  3. Here ya go.. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2906879-live-to-partly-live-to-oh-well-from-carnival-dream-jan-14-28-2023-journey-cruise/page/11/
  4. Well, they lied. It didn't work on my flight, but I was able to have free messaging - I think everyone does. Anyway, after some rough weather, made it to Buenos Aires, checked into the hotel early, got a bite to eat, and nap time is rapidly approaching.
  5. You're welcome. Currently sitting in a hotel in Buenos Aires getting ready for the next adventure.
  6. anything medically necessary - TSA doesn't say it has to be prescribed. I am traveling with medication, are there any requirements I should be aware of? All passenger items must undergo security screening. It is recommended that medication be clearly labeled to facilitate the screening process. You may bring medically necessary liquids, medications and creams in excess of 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in your carry-on bag. Remove them from your carry-on bag to be screened separately from the rest of your belongings.
  7. I see this from the current cruise: Has anyone gotten any updates on the GI tract outbreak aboard the current cruise that has caused the Oceanview Buffet to no longer be self serve as well as causing the cancellation of on board tours due to a number of crew members being sick? The shortage of serving staff has seemingly created a more or less chaotic situation and, at times, very slow food service. Note to self - pick up some peanut butter crackers or other snacks in Buenos Aires. I don't think I packed enough Cliff Bars for the whole cruise. 🙂 I don't usually do buffets and tend to eat later than most cruisers, it seems, so I should be good. Hope those affected recover quickly. I would think things would be better for our cruise.
  8. It is well established that cruise lines keep NONE of the gratuities, despite the conspiracy theories by some. It would have to be reported on their financial statements among other things. Cruise lines have more in common than different and that includes gratuities, so yes, other cruise line policies are appropriate to discuss. Especially those under the Carnival umbrella.
  9. Received an email from Celebrity - not entirely sure what it means other than expect disorganization. Oh well, if I make it to the terminal, it's all good. Can't wait!!! Hopefully no flight delays today. There's some weather out there. Dear Guest, We can’t wait to welcome you aboard Celebrity Infinity® for an incredible journey through Antarctica. To ensure a seamless embarkation experience for you and your fellow passengers, we ask that you please adhere to the following: We are expecting delays in boarding on Saturday. If you’ve already completed your online check-in, please plan to arrive a little later than your selected arrival time, but no later than 3:30PM. If you haven’t yet, please download the Celebrity Cruises app and select a remaining available check-in time.
  10. In what other industry do customers break down tips by staff members and stuff dirty money into envelopes and hand them to the staff members individually. That is how cruising used to be and what they invented. It has evolved to try to make it easier on customers, but there will always be some who make excuses. Restaurant tipping is a percentage of the bill and not at all the same.
  11. The cruise industry is not a standard service industry and never has been. Too many anti-tippers get hung up on semantics and use it as an excuse to not participate, or to substitute their own variation. Whether tips/gratuities/largesse/whatever, the extra money has always been part of the hard working crew member's compensation packages. It is not based on the price of the cruise, meal, or anything else. It is an optional (unfortunately) cost per person. Why tip someone you don't see? Because it is always a team effort. Without the team, you have no service. NCL has even changed the name to service charge, and some people still don't get it. On some short cruises (some of the 3 day?), I believe Carnival has even required gratuities to be prepaid and some still try to weasel out.
