Unfortunately cruise deposit are one of the few things you are unable to use onboard credit for.

Perfect. Just booked a family cruise and did not have a chance to research cabins. We needed 3 balconies together. Thanks Bob!

I tried a search, but was unable to find the information. Is there a way to figure out if the bed is by the bath or the balcony on Allure cabin 9688? TIA

Yes, you can cancel and re-purchase. As to the Chef's Table, I do not think that they will credit you back for the unused meal as it is not priced on a per meal basis (just my assumption). In the fine print on the dining package it does note a 20% discount for the Chef's Table. I will find out in about 3 weeks on my sailing if I will be able to negotiate a credit back on my already purchased Chef's Table with the Ultimate Dining Package.

My personal opinion, it depends on your preferences in dining and amenities. You as a suite guest have access to Coastal Kitchen and your friend does not. Your friend's access, however, in a Junior Suite is based on availability, so there are no guarantees. A Junior Suite is basically a larger balcony room with few suite amenities. Proximity to me is not an issue. We have travelled with others next to us as well as in different locations. We see no difference regarding spending time together on board. The other consideration is, if your friend is truly next door, do you plan to open the balcony dividers and share the balcony space?

So if you are diamond plus with RCI, and sail 7 nights with Celebrity, do your points start at zero with Celebrity? (even though you get elite benefits? )
We just made D+, I don't think I will live long enough to see Pinnacle.
Yes, you will be Elite with zero points. The reverse is also true. If you are Elite on Celebrity and cross over to your first RCI cruise then you will be Diamond with zero points.

We did a land tour on our own when we cruised our of Venice I actually was easily able to find a laundromat near our hotel they I used prior to embarkation. It was very easy and much cheaper.

I have not been in this cabin, but have sailed on Reflection as well as other Celebrity ships. I have never had a problem storing 2 suitcases under the bed. I believe I have heard the steward can store them if needed, but no personal experience with that. While the cabins are not huge, I find there is plenty of space and quite comfortable.

Michael’s Club is the suite lounge. Whether this exists on Royal depends on the ship is my understanding. The 35 points is, I believe, Classic status and does not transfer to Royal.

You can always call to make pre-cruise purchases if you are having trouble with the website.
-
You may carry it on as long as it fits through the security screener (like carry on at airports).
-
Has your group considered purchasing the “early bird” for Southwest. This eliminates the need to check in early as the airline checks you in and sets your boarding position. All you need is to obtain a boarding pass, either on your phone when you dock, or at the airport.

I think the entertainment options and basically one dining room with inflexible dining times were the things most complained about.
Fortunately we are fixed dining time people, and not much into the entertainment. We cruise to relax and recharge, so low key is perfect for us. Thanks for the info!

I realize that a river cruise will be very different and am trying to do my research now. I have only done ocean cruises. Could you tell me what were some of the vocal complaints from ocean cruisers.

Yes, just read that and thank you. Because I’ve sailed on the ‘bigger’ ships, I don’t want to feel that there isn’t much to do on Rhapsody though I don’t want to feel too young for Constellation, if that makes sense.

Just a quick reply regarding ages in the two lines, while Celebrity does have a reputation for older passengers they are working hard at attracting a younger demographic and I think it is working. While the passengers tend to be older than Royal, you would not be out of place at your age.

Hi Ned,
Just answered you over on the Celebrity board. The cabin choices make this a tough choice. I am a huge fan of aft balconies. You might want to read ship reviews to get a better idea of the condition of both ships. I will say that I enjoyed the Constellation when I sailed on her. I have not been to the Greek Isles, but I would take 9 days over 7 and the Dalmation Coast is beautiful. As I stated in my other reply, this was probably our favorite vacation.

We did this itinerary a little over a year ago on the Constellation. You will love it, still one of our favorite vacations. The entertainment on Celebrity is there, just a little more low key than Royal. We are former Royal cruisers that have stepped up to Celebrity and have not looked back (although back on the Vision next year to experience sailing out of New Orleans). Admittedly we tend to enjoy entertaining ourselves with a book by the pool rather than being a "joiner" in all the activities. The dress on Celebrity is similar to Royal during the day, shorts and t-shirts. The evenings tend to be more "resort casual" most nights. From reading the boards it seems that dress on Royal has become much more casual i.e. shorts and t-shirts in the dining room. I don't think you will see that on Celebrity, but khakis and polos are fine.
As to Crown and Anchor vs. Captain's Club, you will be recognized at the Select level on Celebrity (middle tier). Call the Captain's club and have them assign you a number and they will assign the correct level. There have been some reports recently that this is now being done automatically between the 2 lines with the new "single sign in" procedure on the website, but I would still verify.

My cruise increased $450. So much for an additional "free" perk.

Appropriately LMAO :')

We found the taxi to be quite easy to use from the ship to the airport. I am sure it would be just as easy from the airport to the ship as well. We stayed in Venice precruise so used the water taxi to get to the ship. English was not a problem at all. I do not recall the cost, as DH handled that, but I believe it was in Euros. Still cheaper and easier IMHO than a ship transfer.

Thank you! So this only happens when docked?

We are currently considering a river cruise. Can someone please explain “rafting”?
military discounts?

We have been booking with a military discount. Yes it is a non refundable deposit, not a non refundable fare. $100 change fee and balanced of deposit as a future cruise credit.
