  1. With the children along, I would stick with a standard balcony. I would want them to be able to see the water, islands, and anything out there without climbing on a chair/table to see out, or having you hold them up all the time. Much safer even if it is further to the water. The choice is yours.

    Enjoy whichever you do choose.

  2. I did the same thing for my upcoming cruise with my sister. I've just told her, to follow along, I know the way. I will take a round about route to the cabin, and before she knows it, will fling open the door!! I doubt she will notice we aren't on the "right" deck. I even had her print out our paperwork, which I'm sure she read carefully.. lol then I reprinted with the new cabin numbers on them.

I hope it works out, and it is a huge surprise!

I can't believe its been two months, and I haven't spilled the beans yet. The hardest secret I've ever had to keep.

  3. Trying not to be so rude but gosh, read the article carefully before posting something like this. The article clearly states NORWEGIAN and Stirrup Cay, nowhere does it even say the words Carnival or Half Moon.

You are absolutely right. I panicked. I will make sure not to in the future. I have been so looking forward to this cruise, I didn't want anything to mess up. If I could delete this whole thread I would. sorry again, and again, and again.

  4. Sounds like camp is still taking place. Trust me, the kids won't care where the activities are. And the letter assures they will still have tons of fun.

They would never dry dock a ship JUST to revamp camp. Don't be frustrated. I'm sure you and the kids will have a blast!

Just so you know, Camp Carnival will have wonderful things going on, even if in a different place. Now, saying that, if the girls don't want to stay with the group, you and BFF will still be stuck with them. They will not keep them there if they don't want to be there.

Hope you have a relaxing vacation no matter how it works out.

  5. Kind of crazy. You get dropped off or park 100 ft from the ship. You get to wait for a shuttle under a white tent. Then take the shuttle the 100 ft to the terminal. No, you cannot walk it. Then, you go inside and wait in the security line. Then the line to pick up your Sea Pass. Then you wait to get your photo taken. Then, if the ship is cleared, you can board. Wedding parties first, Diamond/Platinum guests second, FTTF third, then everyone else. It is not as complicated as it sounds. This will be my 8th or 9th time doing it.

  6. Haha...I hope this will be a GOOD surprise for them!

If you live close to the terminal, I think I would just tell them that you are going to meet them there to see them off and then instead of leaving say "surprise, I am sailing with you!"

Yes, this,,, because I couldn't keep it a secret until dinner. LOL have fun, good luck...

Actually, my Sister and BIL did it this way once. lol

  7. So sorry this happened to you. Reminds me of my first cruise. We rented a tux for my DH. We boarded the ship, and I was first to the cabin. I opened the door, heard voices and saw a man standing there. (I thought) I ran back to our family group, and said there's a man in our cabin.

Dh and BIL huffed up and went down there, and what I heard was the TV, and saw the tux hanging on the outside of the closet door. LOL I still haven't lived it down and its been years.

p.s. his tux fit ok enough.

  8. We are total "buffet" table hogs. We often travel with a large family group and "everyone" tends to have different "schedules", so invariably the first few at the buffet find a table and we are joined on and off by others during breakfast and lunch. We are grazers...small plates, and we sit and enjoy our leisure meals, part of our vacation experience and our chance to visit over a cup of coffee with family members from different parts of the country who we don't see often. Sometimes that does mean one person sits at the table reading for a bit while waiting for others to join them.

If that titles us entitled, so be it.

No problem, but if the place is full, and your sitting by yourself, expect company. We will sit with you, eat, and enjoy your company too.
