  1. We requested refunds for our July and August cancelled cruises on June 4th.

We received the July planner refund on June 12th & the taxes, fees&port charge portion of our refund on June 12th.  Still ~$450 due.

We received the August refund for the planner on 6/9 and the full cruise refund on 6/12.

That was the fastest refund received in the last 15 months for us.  I appreciate the quick response, but would prefer to cruise!

  2. We are not wine drinkers, so the corkage fee does not affect us.  Not bringing soda on board does affect me though.  My caffeine intake is mainly from Pepsi Zero.  I will suffer through Coke products onboard, but I will really miss my morning Pepsi Zero.  Maybe HAL will add Pepsi to their Soda menu but I doubt it.

  3. We had 2 cruises cancelled by the latest cancellation event.  We got only one email which did have the link.  We requested the refund for that cruise and then it asked us if we had any additional refund requests.  We added the 2nd booking # and took care of that also.  We have since received emails showing the Cruise planner refunds for each of those cruises.  I expect the actual cruise refunds may take a bit longer.

Thanks for posting this!  How recently did you purchase these cards and were you able to to do it online?

I checked again and definitely don't see it offered for my account.

I placed the order on April 26th, 2021.

    Soda Fountain Soda card $50

I bought 6 (2 for each of us).

I did look just now and it does not show up as available now on our Dec Rotterdam cruise.

I also checked our Aug 22 cruise on N.Statendam and it is not there.  I do not know if it was there when we booked, because the package we booked included the Sig Beverage Promo.

  5. We always each get the $50 for $25 cards for the 3 of us on HAL cruises.  We recently purchased 2 each for our December Rotterdam VII 11-day cruise.  Our last cruise that sailed was on HAL in Feb 2020.  On that 11-day cruise we also each had 2 cards and they lasted the cruise well.  I typically am a Pepsi zero drinker, but ,alas, HAL has Coke products.  I found that if I used my soda card at one of the pool bars and requested Coke Zero, they gave me a can.  We also tip $1 every time we use the cards.

  6. We are also booked for the Oasis July 2nd cruise.  Still have heard nothing from Royal re cancellation or check-in.

We have it booked thru the casino folks since last September.  Back then, we were booking offers monthly hoping something would sail.  It has been a book, cancel, get new offer, book, cancel, ...

We still try to see the glass half full, but I am not one to waste half a glass.  A lot of emptying/refilling, ...

  7. We took our 7 month old on his first cruise (Caribbean) 26 years ago.  To address any issues of not being able to do nighttime entertainment, etc, we did what we thought was necessary.  We brought along a grandmother on the cruise with us.  We had a great cruise.  Our son , now 27, has cruised with us many times since.  I would personally not travel alone on a cruise ship with a 1-year old in the current environment.  Too many unknowns.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

  8. My son's passport expired in Jan 2022.  Since we had cruises booked monthly from July 2021 through May 2022, we decided as soon as our May 2021 cruise got cancelled, to renew his passport.  We sent it in at the end of March, and received the new one in early May and the old one was returned about a week later.  We did not need to expedite.  Now if only  we can use it!

  9. Our last cruise was Feb 26,2020 11-day Panama Canal Sunfarer on HAL Zdam.  The Canal was on our bucket list and we also got to visit several Southern Caribbean ports for the first time.  The cruise was great and we had a few weeks before a late March cruise (or so we thought).  the next 12 bookings were cancelled, 1 at a time.  We are still holding out hope for 2021.  7 more booked in 2021, 4 in 2022.  fingers crossed!

  10. We have been booking new cruises after each cruise is cancelled.  We have cruises booked in 2021 for July, August, September, October & 2 in November on Royal, and 1 in December on HAL.  We have 4 booked in 2022.  It seems that Club Royale wants us back on the ships to gamble (ie. donate).  They continue to offer us "free" cruises.  They want us back and we would love to be cruising again.  All 3 of us have been vaccinated.

  11. I just looked at my account and did not see anything different.  All I notice is that our July cruise still says to check in until I click on the link. Then it tells me I must download the app and that check-in is not available.  I wonder if that download the app requirement will require me to buy a new (non-flip) phone, but the site looks the same as it did on Friday to me.

  12. We have several cruises booked with soda package @ $6.49/day

That is the best we have seen in the last 5 or 6 years.  It usually shows up during a holiday event of some sort. The four that I booked the $6.49 drink package were done late Nov 2020 (black Friday weekend).  We use the zoom benefit from my club Royale tier status.  I have no info on cabana pricing.

I dont see port of baltimore cruise ship schedule for anything 2021 or 2022.   Same for nj/ny.  I didnt check fl ports.   I wonder if they just wont post them till ships have permission to sail.

Just booked an October 2021 cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas out of Baltimore this week.

We have 3 booked cruises out of Bayonne in July, August & September 2021.  We are hoping that cruising restarts out of the US.  We also have Nov & Dec cruises booked out of Florida.

  14. I am getting offers once or twice a month from club Royale.  I have accepted many for the past 12 months, but have not yet sailed. ( as most or all of the other folks).  We keep hoping that , once RCL cruising resumes, we will finally get to move to the D+ status.  Each of the 10 RCL cruises that have been cancelled since last March would have got us there.  We currently have 9 booked between between now and March, 2022 on RCL and 2 booked with HAL..
