  1. Yes. It was uncomfortably warm in the dining room, Wheelhouse, and Crooners most nights. I hope they get the environmental systems balanced better.
  2. We booked RomeCabs to pick us up and take us to our hotel in Rome. Easiest way to do it.
  3. The black thermometer I brought from home to see the temp. It’s magnetic and sticks to the wall.
  4. They must be planning to keep a lot of the entertainment in the Piazza. That’s quite a sound & light control center.
  5. Gloriously cool in the cabin when we returned from Pompeii. New thermostats (at least since the previous-newest ship I was on was the Majestic). It’s a touchpad, so don’t press hard. Left side is manual or auto fan speed, with the + and - controlling the manual speed. Temp on the right, along with off/on.
  6. Today’s Patter. I was hoping the “Day 8” in the bottom right corner wasn’t a typo…
  7. We wandered around Horizons decks 6 and 7 specifically looking for large tables. Except for the chef’s table, nothing bigger than 8, and very few of them.
  8. Ask at lunch when you board. There are very few 6 to 8-tops. For a large group, the headwaiter said they push together many twos in front of a bench and have had parties of 20.
  9. Two sets of double-ended tables, so actually four. The Hot Pot tables run down the side.
  10. Funny man Goronwy Thom had a second show in the Piazza. He really plays to the audience, and had everyone laughing. The star of the show ended up being the seven year old kid. IMG_3588.mov IMG_3594.mov
  11. First taste of a production show last night. The cast did one number in the Piazza. IMG_3583.mov
  12. I confirmed with the International Cafe this morning that they have complimentary regular coffee from midnight to 6am.
  13. The waiter pours the sauce, then leaves the mini pitcher, similar to the soup. I usually delete the vegetables.
  14. Reserve Dinner tonight. Again, highs and lows. This is how the tomato soup was presented. I thought it was a joke, as the waiter put it down and left. But he came back in a minute with a mini pitcher and poured it into the bowl. Thankfully, it was tasty. I had “land and land”. I must say, the beef on this ship, in any form (pot roast, tenderloin, Wellington, filet) has been outstanding. The most tender and flavorful beef I have ever experienced on a ship, if not anywhere. The one-and-only soufflé on this cruise (!) was very good.
  15. Yes, you can choose early or late, which will put you on deck 6, and whether or not you want to share a table. I don’t believe you can specify a table size. There are very few large tables. Mostly 2 and 4-top. Since we only went there one night, and didn’t stay, I have no idea if the description in the app is accurate.
  16. Two formal nights. The Med is always better dressed than the Caribbean. The vast majority were in suits and ties, at least those I saw.
