  1. We are going to Bermuda for our kids Spring Break as well.  This will be my 4th trip there so I have some experience.  We looked at NCL but ultimately went with Anthem of the seas due to the fact that is a a ship built for colder weather.  First trip was in Mid may and we had a balcony.  Due to the temp and the wind we were unable to use it until we got to Bermuda--still nice to have though.   The temps were on the chilly side to go into the water but kids...they really don't care.  Life guards are not on scene in Horsehoe until 5/1 or at least that was the case then.  The other beaches that are smaller don't have lifeguards anyway.  Portuguese Men of War were a problem that year and are seen in Spring and early summer.  The year we went we were not able to enter the water at Elbow Beach due to them being right there...no thanks lol.

    That said...there are a ton of things to do on Bermuda such as climbing to the top of Gibbs lighthouse, Royal Naval Dockyard (we did a Segway tour), Fort Catherine, Unfinished Church, Caves, Biking trail, Hamilton/Dockyard parties at night, finding all of the hidden little beaches like Jobson Cove, Swizzle inn...so good.

    Key is that you need to have a ship that has a lot to do for colder weather.  We are looking forward to Ifly for example and the escape room, Northstar (eh for me), our kids loved the Seaplex and arcade.  I know this is an NCL board but it might be an option to look into and you want to consider them all.  Feel free to PM me with any questions.  Whatever you pick, it will be a fab vacation.

  2. Royal phone reps AND IT issues are just as bad. Head over to the RCL forum. I've taken 6 RCL, 2 DCL, 1 X and 1 MSC (Divina) cruise. Divina was not Disney but it topped RCL and X. The food was much better and if you like good wine, pizza, and gelato.....you will be in for a treat. I had no issue with bar service at all. I was a woman in a bikini so I am not sure if that played into it? lol

  3. I have done both ships and also visited Bermuda 4 times. If you want fewer kids and don't care about B &W I would pick Grandeur hands down. That ship is so friendly and cozy. I was 40 at the time, plenty of other passengers the same age. You will have fewer kids for sure. I have 4 and would never take them on G...we went on A. Bermuda in May will most likely be too cold to swim AND they have had a serious portugese man o war issue on occastion earlier in the season. If the other option is early June I don't think in terms of temp it will matter. Usually the price of the cruise is considerable less late spring because that is not the peak time to visit. Hope this helps!

  4. My kids were about the same ages when we did Anthem (15, 14, 11, 7). They would have loved being on a ship for the first day but that is about it. There is no comparison when it comes to kids activities. I've cruised on both and I find the food to be the same.

    Anthem= Disney World

    Summit = Longwood Gardens

    Have a great cruise! My kids cried when we disembarked : )

  5. No, it is not worth it to me. I get a much better mani/pedi on land for a fraction of the price. It eats up time (dry time as well) and I found that the sunscreen chewed it up. I get gel on my fingers for this reason. I would spend that money on a massage or some sort of body treatment. On port days they have specials which are quite good.

  6. Hi! My vote is hands down RC Star Class. Most likely your girls will have aged out of Disney (if they are not already). They will be ready to conquor RCCL activities. IMHO RC Star Class blows NCL Haven and MSC YC out of the water, Here are the perks:

  7. Apart from being soaked by a hose, this happened to me when I was on Divina. I also received no notification. No reason not to be naked if you are out to sea! I quickly grabbed my town, closed my blinds, and recounted me story to my dinner table mates. Some lively conversation ensued.

  8. I am sorry you had such a frustrating time. Very happy you got your refund. From some of what I have seen around here 2 mths is good! From what I am reading it does not appear they deny the medical visit, but they deny any food poisoning. Food poisoning is very difficult to prove (although it does sound like it to me as well). It would have been better if a large number of people fell ill after eating at the restaurant. Not better, but better for your case.

    You are spending so much time and energy on this. There is no proof of food poisoning. Unless there is you are spitting into the wind. They don't care. I hope you can let this go. It's not good for you.

  9. Not to sound like I'm giving you advice, but you just said your adults that you are bringing with you, are unable to enjoy a cruise, because they are on the young side of adulthood? First piece of advice. You ask the adults if they want to go on the cruise? If they don't want to go, than let them stay home. They are adults. Now on the ship, they can do all the same things you can do, except if the ship leaves in the USA, drink adult drinks. As an adult, they should by adult age, know how to communicate with other adults. Generally speaking an 18 year old or older, will be embarking on their adult lives, such as going to college (making new friends), leaving for the military (making new friends), entering a vocational training (making new friends), or entering the job force (making new friends). The other item, is that you don't want them hanging out with other adults? It's time to give them a key to the house, and let them blossom, and make their own decisions, starting with, do you want to go on this cruise?. I do have adult kids, and both have blossomed into adults. They survived the transition, so let yours experience it without your help.

    Well, they could attend a lecture from the above poster on embarking on their adult lives!
