  1. I've only had coupons on the trans-Atlantic cruises which I done 4. All others have been in the Sky Lounge and I've never had them loaded on card. No real limit on ordering.

I kind of like the coupons because it gives you more of a variety of bar locations. Also, since I never get a drink package and we usual go Aqua, we would always stop at the Ensemble Lounge on the way to BLU and get a glass of wine with our last coupons to have with dinner.

  2. I am surprised you did not mention this. I've cruised a lot on Celebrity-15+ and Princess-5x. 90 % of Celebrity were on S class ships, all Princess cruises were on Grand Class ships. I like Princess but one things I always felt was the crowds. For example, if we did not get down to the theater for the evening entertainment 20-30 minutes before the show we either did get a seat or the wife would be at one end of the theater and I be at the other. I can arrive at theater on a Celebrity ship a few minutes before curtain and have no problem finding 2 seats together. The other thing I like, because I have watch sun exposure with my melanoma, are the Celebrity solariums.

  3. Alejandro was on the Infinity but is now on leave and has been replaced by Luigi. I don't believe anyone has posted if he is known to be going back to Infinity. When we were left that ship in early May, Alejandro once again took over from Luigi so that seems to be the pattern so far.

Hope Alejandro is back for my Infinity cruise through the Panama Canal and cruise down West Coast of SA next month. Alejandro was our cruise director on the a trans-Atlantic Equinox cruise last Fall and about 6 years ago we had him on the Solstice Med Cruise. He's a hoot. Alejandro is the best cruise director in the fleet.

  4. I just tell my TA and I never had a problem.

Most of the time the extension cord and distilled water is waiting for me when I first check into the room. If not, I mention it to the room steward when he introduces himself upon checking into the room and within a few minutes he brings it.

  5. We're flying to Rome from JFK on Nov 1, choice air (Alitalia/air france) I have tried to pick seats ahead and no one will let me. Said I have to do it at check in:mad:

    What am I missing?

Help. I like to have seats ahead of time........

    Helaine

    Try this:

Go to the airline website with your reservation number. When you input your reservation # you often can pull up seat selection. Not sure about Air France but KLM charges you for a selected seat. No charge if you want to wait. On my upcoming Infinity cruise down the West Coast of So America, I am flying on KLM from Santiago to Buenos Aires. I had to pay like $10 for a reserved seat. I wanted a window seat in the back to hopefully take some pictures of the Andes Mountains. Normally I wouldn't care since the flight is just over 1 hour. .

  6. Though I expect that today's problem might well relate to weekend systems maintenance, I should have added to my earlier response that it sometimes helps to try a different web browser... Celebrity's systems--which as often mentioned here leave much to be desired--sometimes seem to interact better with some than with others...

Within the past few days and using Google Chrome, I checked in/printed my Xpress Pass for an upcoming trip without difficulty...

Took your advice, I was originally was using Firefox and and switched to Microsoft Edge, it worked. Was able to complete the XPress Pass information and print the XPress Pass.

    Thanks, Banjo

  7. This morning I filled out the XPress Pass information for my upcoming Infinity Cruise.

Completed all the information and when I got to the part to print the XPress Pass, the document would not go to my printer. Then copied and pasted the document and when I printed it the the bar code was not evident. Then I went on to the section on Travel Plans, some of the drop down selections would not work and would not let me proceed. So I gave up with a 'save and exit'.

This never happened before. Should just call them tomorrow AM (Monday) and see if they can work it out?

  8. I'll be on 1st RCCL cruise since attaining Elite this January when I am on the Empress of Seas. When I was on the Equinox last April the Captains Club Hostess signed us up with RCCL. Very interested to see how Diamond works.

I have to say we enjoy the Captains Club Happy Hour a lot. Not so much the drinking but the socializing. Many folks we met we still remain in contact and become friends of ours. The other perks are nice, I am fine with 180 minutes of internet to check email every few days and get a boarding pass. The laundry helps with longer cruises. Also I enjoy a Bloody Mary for breakfast. With these perks I usually pick OBC & gratuities when booking rather then a internet package and a drink package.

Hope Diamond has similar perks and opportunities.

  9. I've only been Elite my last 3 cruises, 2 were TA's and one was Caribbean cruise. All Elite breakfasts were buffet style in a S class ship. Also with TAs we had a lot of Elites and sea days,

One of the things I liked was it was opened till 10am on all 3 cruises. I am early riser & love breakfast, wife a late riser, hates big breakfasts. I would get up & go down for breakfast either at the Oceanview or BLU around 6am. Have full breakfast by 630a, then go off to the gym by 730a. Workout and shower in the gym by 930a. Then the wife & I go down the Elite breakfast which I would enjoy a Bloody Mary and a latte. Wife would just have fruit and maybe a yogurt. Also going late it was never crowded and was usually able to get aft window table. Nice way to start the day.

  10. Dramamine also knocks me out. Great if I want to sleep but can't use otherwise. I have switched to Bonine and find it very effective.

Over the years I find that if I take Dramamine or Bonine a couple days ahead each night at bedtime and the day of departure it calms down my inner ear and I don't need anything for the remainder of the cruise.

I used the scopolamine transdermal patch behind the ear and finds it helps a lot. I am usually good when taking a Caribbean or Med cruise but on trans-Atlantic don't leave home without it.

BTW, I am on the the Panama Canal/West Coast of SA cruise also. 1st time cruising SA.

  11. A few years ago we were coming back from the Med on Eclipse, and we encountered strong headwinds as we sailed past Spain and Portugal heading for Southampton. We were due to call at Coruna but the day before it the captain announced we would not get a full day, just an afternoon visit due to the headwind. After dinner that night the captain announced we would not make it, but head office had managed to get us a berth at Vigo instead, so we did not lose out. Of course there were moans!

We had a similar situation were we were on a Silhouette TA (Ft Lauderdale-Southampton). The ship was scheduled to stop at Lisbon but instead, because high winds, went on to Vigo. Seen Lisbon many times so going on to Vigo did not bother us. Also going to Vigo allowed us to discover Santiago De Compostela. Liked it so much we went back the following year.
