  1. Anyone have any issues smoking cigars on their balcony?

Yes... DH was smoking his cigar on our balcony when our cabin steward told us it wasn't allowed. We never saw the change in smoking policy. We have sailed NCL many, many times and its never been an issue. Don't know when they changed it....

  2. Got off the Breakaway two weeks ago and Lobster tails were in the Garden Cafe and The Haven Restaurant (if you're sailing in The Haven) on Monday night and they were yummy!

It certainly won't prevent me from cruising NCL, but I'd be a bit disappointed if they discontinued lobster tails completely.

  3. I'm pretty sure it's still running, but I believe it's only for dinner, and only on the ships with a dedicated Haven restaurant (like the Breakaway). I've never seen it on the Gem, Jewel, etc and never for breakfast or lunch (hence why I've never seen it on a ship without a dedicated Haven restaurant for dinner).

Yes they still have that program on the BA. Last week our friends had dinner with us in The Haven. They paid $25 pp.

  4. They had self service on The Jewel class ships and it was a disaster!! People leaving their clothes in the machines for hours on end...passengers absolutely trashing the rooms... If they wanted it to be a success the would have had to place a staff member in the room to keep order.

But I'm also like others...unless I'm on a cruise for 14 days or longer I'm not even thinking about laundry!!... I do enough of that at home. :)

  5. Taylor95: bus/ferry tickets (not passes) at dockyard – Not in the gatehouse next to the ship, but at the travel kiosk right next to the ferry docks

Sorry to ask another question, but were these the $30 for 15 tickets? Or just tokens?

    Thanks!!

I really don't know. I just asked one of the ambassadors if tickets and tokens were available at the kiosk. So I guess both are there...but in all our travels I didn't see anyone with tickets... Just tokens and passes...

  6. We did the same thing and only used about 250 mbs. We also used the iConcierge app on our phones. It worked great! We were able to talk and text with our friends who were sailing with us with ease. It was a great way to keep in touch with our kids, too.

The internet on the BA is much faster than the other ships.... though still not lightening speed. Once I was connected, web pages loaded fairly quickly.

  7. Jade June 14th sailing:

    Captain: Lars Bengtsson

    Hotel Director: Jean Michel Dhelin

    Concierge: Gaurav Rajpal

    Cruise Director: Rico Du-Breil

    Chief Engineer: Joran Rasmusson

    Beverage Manager: Vesna Campos

    Group Services Coordinator: Javiera Alfaro

    Executive Chef: Rodney Bennett

Butlers: Wilfredo (Willie) - transferring to the Getaway in August

I was going to ask what ship, but I see Jade at the top...sorry..[emoji5]

  8. Thanks for the info! 25 more days for me!:D

Can you clarify for me that the Chef's Table starts at 6:30 and goes until 10:00?

spittingkitty, it's good to hear that even though you had Group 39 you were still able to get Vibe passes. We're going to try to get them too.

Yes The Chefs Table started at 6:30...but we were asked to be there at 6:15 for pictures. And it ended later than 10:00 I think because we shut the Haven Bar down at 11:00...lol. The dinner itself was probably over a little past 10:00.

  9. Just looked at the Dailies from our cruise last week. The following movies are played on the big screen at Spice H2O:

Fast and Furious - Monday at 7:30 p.m.

    Annie - Friday at 8:00 p.m.

    Admission - Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

The following movies are shown on the Atrium big screen:

Man of Steel - Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

The Great Gatsby - Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

    Oblivion - Friday at 12:30 p.m.

  10. How does the waterfront seating work? Can you request it when booking reservation? Also, Can a family of 7 sit on the waterfront or are there only small tables. Thanks in advance!

You can request it as reservation time... but it's really first come-first serve once you get there. There are only tables for 4 out there (that we saw anyway). So, you'll have to split the family.

  11. Just got off the Breakaway on Sunday. What a wonderful cruise. Found a best kept secret in Bermuda. Either take the red train or ask a taxi to take you to Daniels Head Beach (part of the 9 beaches). Beautiful beach, with very few people. They have a snack shop and places to rent chairs/equipment, etc. I don't think this will be a secret for long!!!

That's good to know since 9 Beaches was our fave until they shut down. They're doing a HUGE renovation and will be completely open next Summer. Whoo Hoo!!!

  12. Depends on which suite... we were in 16720 (2 bedroom) and the hair dryer is in the master bedroom connected to the vanity area. I, too, didn't like that it was connected (at least the cord could have been longer), but I worked around it. It is very powerful!

We brought our own soaps and shampoo/conditioner only because we're not big Elemis fans.

  13. Yes...after you get off the ship you'll go through the dock house...then turn left. You'll be facing it at that point, but its about 30 or so yards ahead. There will be tourist ambassadors all over the place so you shouldn't have any problems.

I was wrong on this... after looking at the Bermuda webcam... after you exit the dock house and turn left... keep walking and make your first right. Then you'll see the ferry area on your left. That's where the kiosk is... just follow the crowd and get in line. It'll be fairly long on the first day.

  14. Thank you! This will be our first time in Bermuda - is the travel kiosk easy to find when you get off the ship?

  15. Welcome home. Hope you enjoyed your cruise... looking forward to your review.

We're also in the Haven and have a request in with the concierge, but I still plan to arrive early and confirm date/availability.

Looks like I will need to move some stuff around if it's on Friday -- what time did it start/end if you don't mind one more question.

Hi, Joe ~ Adrian will take good care of you! It started at 6:30 (6:15 arrival for pictures and greetings) and went until a little after 10:00 - probably closer to 10:30 since we shut down the Haven bar at 11:00. It's wonderful!!! You'll love it!
