    1. does anybody actually WANT the stuff in the mini-fridge - at the prices they charge?

    2. we're going on Silhouette next month. Can I request an empty fridge for the whole trip, in advance?

We just got off Silhouette last week.  Like someone else said, you can't ask for in advance but our steward had no issue removing when we saw him on the first day.  He put everything in a bag under the bed.

  2. Usually the cost is about $60.  If you do the first night you can get it for $30. We have done this on our last 3 cruises on a silhouette class so they would probably have it on your reflection too.   In my experience Celebrity doesn't do as much with sales as Royal.  Always just look at the bottom price.

  3. Thanks for the review!  It's fun reliving it again now that we are back to reality..lol  We felt the same about the staff.  Every single one we met or walked past was so welcoming and helpful.  Your pictures are beautiful!

We didn't realize all that was going on in Miami either but that explains the really high prices.  We usually go in March but decided to change next cruise to Feb and go out of Fort Lauderdale.

I've been searching too.  We will be visiting Nov 1, docked at Taino cruise port.  I've found only vague information about a beach day, hardly no info about transportation, beach bars, menus,  pricing.  I finally got in contact with Jack's Kite and Grill that replied the beach is free and the are food and drinks that can be bought.  I asked for a menu and got a food menu. Asked for a bar/drinks menu and received a reply that they had an assortment of drinks with an estimated price of 200-500 RD (Dominican Pesos).  They accept USD, RD and credit cards.   No info in taxi transportation costs though.

It's so odd that there is so little information online about outside of Taino Cruise Port or beach things to do outside of port. (Several YouTube videos of the actual port grounds.)   If anyone finds anything, please post.

Where did you end up going?  Would love to hear how it went.

I got back from my cruise this past week and I did go to PP. I walk about 8.5 miles RT.  When you get out of the ship port, turn left and go to the beach and side road area.  It is safe. I see police and tourists walking. I walk 4 miles to the beach.  If you turn right, they will not allow you to walk there, because they say its a high crime area.

What beach did you go to?  Were you able to rent chairs?

Thanks for the pictures.  I have seen those online already.  I was looking for some personal photos they might have taken that day.

  7. We have been there twice by taxi.  Last time was march 22.   I'm sorry but I can not remember exactly how much we paid per person.  I think it was $10 each way and probably cost us around $60 round trip.   There was 3 of us and he came back and got us at a time we asked.    At carambola it cost $10 each for chair and umbrella, facilities included and wifi.

  8. There wasn't a slide that I remember.  We walked up to the base of the waterfall and hung around there.  Some people climbed a little bit higher and jumped off  You can get an idea from the pictures.  The one is the entire waterfall and the other is the base where we were hanging out.

Just curious how hard this hike is??

It would say middle of the road.  It's not an easy walk.  I would not recommend for young children or any kind of mobility issues.  It was a little much for my MIL who had just turned 75.  I'm not super athletic and I was able to handle.  You are walking through the woods so will encounter different levels of terrain.  You do climb on rocks so definitely have sturdy shoes.
