  1. Have a great time!!  Sounds like you are all ready!  RC will send you a survey at the end.  We always like to keep a note on our phone of things we want to include...any names of people that we came in contact with that we want to acknowledge or any other suggestion/positive remarks about the sailing.  This way we don't forget anything.

  2. Thank you so much!  That was very helpful.  We just like to relax at a beach on our own.   Last time we were there we ended up going to Rainbow Beach.  That cost $40 for 2 chairs and an umbrella.  It was ok but would like to research some other things to do there.

There seem to be alot of beautiful beaches but not sure of transportation.  When we were there it seemed the taxis all wanted larger groups.  There aren't too many excursions offered.

First time to St. Croix next June. Ship is only there from 7-2. I would appreciate any suggestions on what can be done during such a short time and back to ship by 1:30. We love the beach and exploring. Not sure we would have time to go to buck island that everyone talks about... whatcha think?

How was your trip to St. Croix?  What did you end up doing?

Has anyone been there lately? Going in February and trying to decide going there vs. just walking over to  the beach right next to the port. Don't want to do ship tours and only have 90 minutes on the sand.

Did you end up visiting there in February?

Really, I was just told there were no cancellations from the NJ Walgreens... your charged regardless and the fee now for a TRAVEL precovid was one of the highest?

Really..lol   That's in NC where I was able to cancel right through my confirmation email.  I'm just sharing my experience, of course you need to see if it can apply to you in your state.   Yes, they do charge now for travel.  I was trying to help with your plan B not suggest the cheapest option.

On the RCL sight it said a Friday Sailing (8/5) the test could NOT be done prior to Wednesday.  My Online Proctored test is scheduled for the first available time on Wednesday 8am (wife and I) and Boys (2) at 8:30am.  If the service DEFAULTS.... that where my clock starts for PLAN B.

A week out you can schedule tests at  Walgreens as a back up.  That's what we did.  Not sure if they have changed that or not.   When the first test went through fine we cancelled the other appointments.

  7. We were able to get the discount when we got on board for the first night.  We visited the restaurant when we got on.   They did give you another option for the menu so if you didn't care for the current themed menu there was another.

It was a definitely a neat experience and we had fun. The show was entertaining and all the food was good.  I don't think I would go back again especially at full price.  Kind of a one and done for me.

  8. I can understand your disappoint with going that far and knowing that you might not be able to have enough time to do a proper visit.  Especially at Ketchikan, which was my favorite port.

I think I would still go with some flexible expectations.  Mostly due to the fact that your son might not be able to sail for awhile. You never know what tomorrow will bring. I also wouldn't want to have to deal with the fcc again.

Maybe you can reach out to some of your excursions to explain the situation about possible times changing.  They might be able to adjust for the shortened times if any.  You might be able to come up with a plan b.

  9. I can't answer about cockleshell since we have never been.  We have been to St. Kitts twice and went to Carambola each time.  We went on our own so we could stay for as long as we wanted.  It wasn't far from the port. We took taxi on our own and he came back and picked us up.  It cost $30 for 2 chairs and an umbrella.  We also walked down to shipwreck beach bar.  It was really nice and relaxing day. image.thumb.jpeg.b851a4c26016e218a8e826309c103fd1.jpeg

FYI on the Marriott.  We choose that option on a Tuesday 4-26-22 and the place was beautiful.  Great beach chairs and umbrellas and beautiful pool but if you want to swim in the ocean it was not possible last week. The seaweed was nicer a foot deep and they were trying to clear it with a track hoe.  We spent the morning on the beach and they barely made a dent.  Spent the afternoon at the pool.

in looking at the beach without the moss I am not sure I would call it easy in.    It has been a few years but I would say Cockeshell was easier to get I. The water.

How much did you pay for a day pass at the Marriott?

  11. We were there mid march and went to Mero Beach.  It was a black sand beach.   We could only use the taxis at the port.  They waited for enough to fill the van so there was 8 of us.  Charged us $30 round trip a piece. He stayed with us.   It cost us $10 for 2 chairs and an umbrella from a vendor on the beach.  There wasn't much there in terms of food/drink but there were a few options.  It was about 30 minute drive.  Very quiet and relaxing.

  12. We were just on the Equinox and were invited for a sailaway from Dominica.  We are not sure why but we definitely enjoyed it.  2 of us are select and one was classic level.  We were in a regular veranda room.  It was a beautiful evening and something different that we hadn't done before.  We thought it was really nice that they invite people at random like that.

  13. That form/test is probably if you are traveling there directly by plane.  We were there last week on a celebrity cruise and were able to go out on our own.   The private excursion might have their own requirements so make sure you check with them.

The private tour might have to be "government approved"  A few of our stops had that requirement.   We picked up a taxi right at the port and he had to go through certain steps to get that status.    He had plastic on seats, sanitizer, masks, cleaning between passengers..etc

Thanks for the information about both Grenada and Barbados. Great to hear about Grenada - that's one of our favorite stops.

Was a current covid test required in Barbados as their protocol states? Did you have to get a covid test in order to grab a cab to Carlile Bay?

Did you happen to go to St. Lucia?  I have the same questions about covid tests and cabs in St. Lucia. We usually grab a cab and go to Rodney Bay.

Your information was very helpful. Thanks again.

In Barbados we came in on a ship so nothing was required for us to get off.  The ship might have provided that info to the government.   We were able to get a cab right there.  They did have us carry our vaccination cards but was never asked for it.

We did go to St. Lucia but took a celebrity excursion and it picked us up right at the port so we didn't go outside the gates.  At that port we all had to wear a white wristband that they gave us on the ship.  There was a couple we talked to that had gone into town for shopping and to eat so I think you can go out on your own there.
