If you bring any kind of power strip/distribution device make sure it's not surge protected...

I think it varies from ship to ship. When you call room service to set it up you can customize your meals.

@karatemom2, I surprised my wife on our first Princess cruise last December. It was AWESOME, the best $110 I have ever spent. For the main course we each received a filet and 2 lobster tails - they said it was because they were small, but I thought they were decent-sized. That along with all the apps, sides and dessert. We had 2 guys taking care of us, plus a photographer. One bit of advice - do not eat anything until dinner, otherwise you'll have a ton of food left over!

I always get a kick out of reading these types of threads. My wife and I are newbies when it comes to cruising, we've only done 3 of them, 2 before Covid with Royal Caribbean, and 1 this past December on Princess. I don't have any historical baseline to compare today's cruise experiences with the days when Captain Stubing was on the bridge. I do understand that things change, and sometimes not for the better. On our trip aboard the Caribbean Princess we thought everything went pretty well - smooth embarkation, great service, food, etc. I just feel extremely fortunate and blessed that, in this world where many people are homeless, hungry, and suffering the effects of conflict that I have the means and ability to enjoy these vacations. Steak not that tender, lobster tails a bit small? Meh...

We were on board the Caribbean Princess last December, and walk-ups were not accepted. You had to call a certain number onboard to make a reservation.

We used Princess for pre-cruise accommodations this past December for our cruise out of PE, they put us up at the Westin at Ft. Lauderdale Beach. I wasn't that all impressed - for the money they charged I expected a room with a view of the ocean, not the pool storage area. The pool was closed for a private event, and there are no decent restaurants within walking distance - the restaurant on the premises didn't have anything we liked, and was very expensive. Next time we'll get a hotel that offers courtesy transportation from the airport, and just do an Uber to the port the next day.
