Oceania does it too. There are very few tables for two in their speciality restaurants and most of those are reserved for the top suites. Even for your already allocated speciality dining according to your cabin category, you will still most likely be on a shared table on Oceania. They do the most magnificent afternoon tea though.....Azamara could learn from Oceania there.
Personally, I prefer dining with old friends or just the two of us in the speciality restaurants. I don't really want to share a table with strangers there. Another reason why Azamara suits me.
Like Hazel, I am happy to share in the MDR or Windows though....just not at breakfast!
I have been on Oceania quite a few times and have seen lots of tables for two in the speciality restuarants. They are not reserved for the top suites - I have always got one and have never been in a top suite.

Dec 22 cruise is not a charter. I have a suite booked on this sailing and I believe it the suites sold out due to the good offer of 2nd person half price + 10% LCV discount.

The best way is to get the water bus which takes you to St Marks Square. However you might want to take boots as Venice is prone to flood in November and December. You will notice raised platforms for walking in St Marks Square which are there so that people can get across in times of flooding.

We are on the Riviera cruise departing on 12 September. When I was permitted to make specialty reservations I discovered that Jacques was not available. I understood that all were allowed at least one in each. Does anyone know why there would be no availability? I also noticed that all four B category staterooms were available and suddenly a few weeks ago all were closed - is this a large group booking?

Not sure if you are referring to experience on the Oceania R ships. The availability for reservations on R ships is more limited as there are only two speciality venues ( as with Azamara) however the O ships have four venues and so there is a better chance of getting what you want.
