Thank you all for the guidance!

Wow sounds like there is stuff to do here after all. I love to snorkel so will look into it.
The reason I was planning on staying onboard the ship was that I was told that there are people begging and emaciated children and dogs everywhere.
-
Aw shucks, but thanks for answering my question!
-
I tried to search but didn't see anything about this.
My question is that if we choose to stay on board (we don't want to get off at Roatan, heard horrible things) can we go to guest services and get the port taxes and fees refunded to us for that port since we didn't actually get off the ship and visit the location?

I know it's corny to get shirts made for the cruise, but I'm going with a big group and we think it will be fun to get custom shirts and possibly koozies made.
My question is what websites/companies have you used in the past and would you recommend them? Obviously we want a good price to quality balance.

Wow that's awful what happened to you last night! Their response by sending you sweets was atrocious as well. It makes you think wth is going on in the kitchen for that to be sent out. :(
-
Thanks for the ideas!

Going on the Getaway soon, following!
-
Thanks for all responses. I will try to buy a separate 2 or 3 day dining package once onboard and will update this thread with what guest relations says!
-
Will be on in May, following. Looking forward to pictures of the ship and the food!

So included in my cruise booked through a TA is a 3-night dining package, beverage package, and OBC. I looked on the NCL website and the packages for 4 or 5 night cruises are not too much more than the 3 night package.
Is there any way to upgrade the 3 night package to 4 or more nights and only pay the difference in price between the packages (plus the extra gratuity/service fee) once on board with OBC?

The May sailings of the Getaway are now all going to be Western Caribbean, just FYI.

Every day for me, as well. Do they know how awful their IT is (not just with these emails, in many ways)? You would think such a large company would have this on the top of their list of priorities to fix...

Loving the short descriptions and your photos, especially the menu and food photos. Please keep them coming! I cruise in less than a week and am getting very excited now.

We're going on her in 2 weeks. Love hearing all of this, thank you for sharing your experience!

I will check out the proper forum, I didn't even know it existed (no wonder my search here in the celebrity forum didn't turn up many results). Thank you all!

Hello all. We are a couple in our 20's going on our first Celebrity cruise this month and something that slipped our minds was cruise insurance. We are very healthy, but obviously trip insurance seems important for everyone. Is there any good companies you would recommend? Also we both put our half of the cruise on our mastercards so were thinking we may get some coverage there? Should we call and register the trip with them? Thanks for any and all advice!

When you get to your room there should be a letter there telling you that Blu is anytime dining every night with the hours listed. They will also request on the first night you go to one of the set traditional times. This is not necessary first night, go when you want.
Thank you!

I hope you don't mind my question but I'm curious. Why would a person pre-pay gratuities? Is it because they don't want a bill at the end of the cruise?
When we first booked our cruise a few months ago we were not AQ and wanted anytime dining in the MDR so they required us to pre-pay gratuities. Now after the apparent policy change I would imagine that having no bill at the end to be the only reason to pre-pay.
-
Your original post also mentioned a "set time" In AQ there is no set time in Blu Restaurant, even though your documents may say 6:00 or 6:15. It's open seating from 5:30 til 9.
Great! Thanks for confirming. I was going to ask the host/hostess this the first day, but now I don't have to.
-
Ok thank you both for the clarification. You put my mind at ease!

Hello again, I can't seem to find any clarification on my gratuity question.
We had a CC cabin and prepaid gratuities. When the AQ cabin price dropped we upgraded for a small amount, but changed to a set time and had our prepaid gratuities refunded. Here is where my understanding gets confused.
Now that we have no "pre-paid" gratuities it was my understanding that each day the gratuities will be posted to my account and at the end of the cruise I will have that same amount I didn't "pre-pay" charged to my onboard ship account and everyone will get their fair share of gratuities. I will still give cash to my favorites, but I just want to make sure that no one is getting stiffed here.
I have been reading threads saying that if you don't pre-pay gratuities you have to tip in person? Then I read it just gets posted to your account? Please clarify for me!
-
Thank you everyone for your input. I think we will go into Blu early on the first day and have a look around and talk with the host/hostess about our preferences. I'm confident that it will all work out. I'm getting more and more excited for this vacation as the cruise date approaches!

Hello all, first post on these forums! My SO and I are booked on the Silhouette in an Aquaclass cabin and were wondering how the seating arrangements worked in Blu. We are younger (<30) and a little apprehensive about how close the 2 person tables are to neighbors as we are taking this cruise to spend time together and develop our relationship and refresh from our daily grinds. We have read about this potentially being a problem in the MDR, but have heard nothing about this for Blu. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

From my understanding it's illegal under Hawaiian law to have an unlimited alcohol package whether paid for or included in the fare/free.
