I booked a cruise yesterday on the Brilliance out of San Juan for 1/26. Guarantee Balcony. Just checked the price today with the OBC promo and it is $600 more than it was yesterday without the OBC…

Yeah I noticed price differences also from yesterday but I couldn't make up my mind on the Ship so I waited until today.  But at least since I decided to book Wonder instead of Harmony so I will spend way less.

I assume you mean entering your C&A number as part of the first step in the booking wizard?

That shouldn't matter. Just leave it off for that step then enter it on the checkout page.

I didn't sign in and when I add # to the check out page it refigures the cruise and removes the OBC.  I have redone it multiple times hoping to get a different result.  😜  I know it is supposed to automatically give you the "best" deal but this isn't the best deal lol.

  3. I need some quick advice.  I am trying to book a JS for October on Harmony and I got a price + 600 OBC.  When I enter my C&A # the price drops by 225 for my balcony discount but I lose the 600.00.  I would much rather have the 600 for obvious reasons.  I wish it would give me a choice.  A JS will give me double points so obviously I want them but can I just claim the cruise after the fact to be able to keep the OBC.  This shouldn't be this hard 😜

@islandchicklet Thank you!  Did you guys think it was in a good spot?  Worth the investment...this was our planned beach day, so I'm just hoping for some positive feedback.

It is on the very far end so it is quite a walk. There are trams that will take you most of the way but it is still a walk after that.  And my DH burns easy so we get the one on the farthest end of the end lol! But I love them and always get one there and at CoCo Cay. You have you own area where you can retreat.  Labadee's are usually quiet.

As far as it being in a good spot....that depends on the person.  We don't have kids with us and we just want to relax. If you have kids wanting to do the different activities on the other side of Labadee than it probably isn't the best spot because of the commute.

Anyone ever done the above rental? Listing says its good for 4, includes floating mats, and a cabana attendant?

It is about the size of a king size bed - maybe a little wider.  It will come with 2 loungers,2 towels, an umbrella, 2 floating mats and a small ice chest with 4 bottles of water if I remember correctly.  Unless something has changed very recently the cabana attendant is just someone walking around taking drink orders.  They do not bring food, etc.  I am sure some have managed to tip and gotten someone to do out of the ordinary things but it isn't included.

Dysons are not multi-voltage, so yours from the US will need to be in the US outlet, while jjsparkles, who is from Scotland, will have to use the EU outlet, and would not work at all on the US outlet.  Plugging a US Dyson into the EU outlet will definitely burn it out.

Well, that makes sense…. I did not realize she was from Scotland but I sure don’t know enough about it to tell somebody they’re doing something wrong lol.

My Dyson will only work using the EU socket, I take an EU plug adapter with me. This socket has a higher voltage. Worked for me on Harmony and Anthem. Good luck 🙂

I don’t want to use the EU plug… If it fries it, the warranty will be voided.  I’m glad you’ve been able to do it with no problems.

From what I've heard (I don't use these products myself, being 70 and baldish), many of the Dyson products don't work, inconsistently, on ships, and many ceramic type hair straighteners don't either.  I believe it is the electronics of the Dyson digital motor that does not like the shipboard grounding system (same with the ceramic straighteners).  And, this may be that the products work for one user on a given ship, and not for another user on the same ship a different day, or even for the same user on different days, since the existence or non-existence of a ground fault somewhere on the ship can affect how these electronics work, and these ground faults show up and disappear (repaired) almost randomly.

Thanks! I guess I kind of understand.

    Totally agree with @BecciBoo!

OMG! Just googled the Dyson Airstraight and price is around $500.00!😲 What happened to $20 hair straighteners? LOL! Glad my hair is very short and manageable with a round brush.😉

Yeah, that’s why I was asking the question… Definitely don’t want to fry that sucker. Because that’s what I thought I did to the $300 straightener in April.  But it is a hair dryer/straightener if that makes it any better.😂😂

I didn't think any kind of irons (hair or clothes) were allowed on board RCCL ships; however, I could be mistaken. They may have overlooked it on your previous cruise. I'm looking at ship's policies, trying to find out.

Straight irons, curling irons, and hairdryers are all allowed. You may not bring a steamer or a clothes iron.

No, it's likely a grounding issue. That unit and perhaps others are looking for a land-based grounding system to operate - the shipboard system is different. @chengkp75 can provide a better explanation if needed.

Thanks, I guess I’ll leave it at home because it’s awfully big to lug around for it not to work.

  12. I know they’re relatively new, but has anyone taken a Dyson airstraight on a Royal Caribbean cruise? And if so, did you have any issues with it powering up properly?

I took my GHD straight iron on Wonder in April, and it would not work. I thought it had broken but when I got home it was fine, so I’m assuming it was a “too low voltage to the cabin” issue.

I will be on adventures of the seas in a couple of weeks if that helps.

I think that I had to wait until the room number info showed before I could add to my wallet. Have a good trip!

No, you can add them before. Mine are in my wallet now but I occasionally remove them and readd them just in case it loads a number since the last time I checked. I am not a good candidate for guarantee cabins…I am not a patient person 😂
