  1. LOL! I have been seeing those Whale Tail graphics all over the boards for years and I never knew what they belonged to. Just found out now by accident, so here I am!

We're booked on the Splendor out of NYC 6/10 - I can' t wait! I need to consume all things cruise. We've done the itinerary before, but this will be our first time on the Splendor.

  2. We ate in the steakhouse on the Miracle and loved it. I had the Ahi Tuna Tartare and it was fabulous! One of the best things I've ever eaten - and I'm a foodie. We're sailing on the Splendor in June (same cruise, different ship) and I can't wait to eat in the steakhouse again. I don't think I had soup, but I think I had the tomato salad. I did have the surf & turf and both the filet and the lobster tail were excellent. My sister I had the Chocolate Sampler and I concur - it was awesome! I wish I could have started with that because I was kind of full, but I ate every bite!

I thought the steakhouse was well worth the extra charge. The meal compared easily to ones we've had at Morton's for a LOT more. We plan to go more than once on the Splendor.

  3. has anyone here been on Carnival Miracle? the ship that will replace the Splendor in Long Beach? thoughts?

LOVE the Miracle - it's one of my favorite ships! We did a Caribbean cruise from NYC on her last year and loved every minute. The Miracle and the Legend are the perfect size - no getting lost!

We'll miss her here in NYC, but I'm looking forward to our June cruise on the Splendor - same one that we did on the Miracle but new ship! Can't wait!

  4. I had noro virus one - and once was enough! I take one of those plastic tubes of Lysol or Clorox wipes. You can use the around the room, but what I do is tuck a few into a zip lock bag to carry around with me. When I'm on the stairs, I pull one out and hold it in my hand as I hold onto the rail. I have a thing about stairs and need to use the hand rail. This way I'm sanitizing it for me and anyone behind me.

Before a cruise (I know, I'm going backward), I find the deck plans on the web. I save the plans for all the public decks, plus the deck where my cabin is. I paste the images into Word or a drawing/photo program - you can usually fit 3 or 4 decks on a sheet. I print them out for everyone in my party.

I have had so many people ask me where I got them, as they try to figure out where they are going with the tiny plans they give you.

Oh and I always go down to the Guest services desk on the last day before we return to home port and I ask for a full set of Fun Times - they make a great souvenir.

  5. We ate in the steakhouse for the first time on the Miracle in 2011 and I regretted not doing it all the other cruises I've been on. We LOVED - food, ambiance - the whole experience. I am craving the ahi tuna tartare right now! And the chocolate sampler - yum.

We plan on doing it at least twice on our June 2013 cruise on the Splendor.

  6. Thank you so much for the review and these awesome pics! They bring back great memories of the cruise we did out of NYC on the Miracle last year. I hate to see the Miracle go - love that ship! - but we are booked on the Splendor June 10, 2013 out of NYC again. We live in NJ so NYC's the perfect port and I like the itineraries. We'll be doing GT, HMC and Nassau. I can't wait!

  7. I want to know why with all these people who never use the gym, it's always packed when I go there to work off all the food I've been eating!:)

We NEVER do the art auction

We NEVER play bingo (it's gotten terribly complicated and it's too much like work)

We do most everything else but not every cruise. Although I will be keeping an eye out for yellow water in the pools and hot tubs!

Love the Steakhouse, Chocolate Melting Cake, Slots in the Casino, the Lido deck, room service in the am, coffee and danish on the balcony, days at sea, getting a pedicure or some treatment in the spa, miniature golf, getting the internet package so I can post pics on Facebook and make my friends jealous. etc. etc.

Looking forward to the Movies on deck - our first chance to do this, one of these days I will try the slide, and just having fun. Can't wait until June 2013!
