I went to my Princess account and it still shows my level as “Elite” but below the “Membership Benefits” are now blank.

Seems to indicate changes are indeed on the way.  We shall see.

I just went there and it looks the same as always.

  2. It's cancelled but you have to contact your TA (if you used one) to request your money back.  We called Princess and they said to expect it back on the card within 4 weeks and still didn't get it.  Called back and asked if we had to ask our TA to get request the credit and they said yes. (!!!!!)  So stupid!

Since only full suites and club class mini's are allowed in club class they have always had a list by the door when you first show up.  After that they know who you are

Actually it was on the Sky in 2020 that we had a card in our room.  We've done CC many times.

  4. Showing up anytime in the Club Class dining room is the whole reason for Club Class.  I just ignore the question about time when we have Club Class.  Sometimes we have a card in our room noting that we have CC that you have to take down the first time.  Other times our names have been on a list.

  5. I thought I had read that people received the Captain's Circle Magazine last month.  (I can't remember what they call it)  I haven't gotten anything.  Have you received one?  Since we haven't been cruising, I don't know what would be in it.  Maybe I was dreaming 🙂

  6. If you purchase the cruise with the beverage, wifi and tips package, that cost is included in the price for Princess insurance.  I don't understand that.  If you cancel your cruise too late to receive a refund, don't you get port fees and taxes back?  Do you get your purchase of the beverage, etc. packages back?

I'm asking this because I'm wondering if they have to be included when purchasing private travel insurance.

I had the same issue. When I tried to book a return flight the system stated that I was at my "home" port. The cruise is out of FLL and I live in CA. Not even close to my home port.

It, also, won't let me even look at the other 2 cruises (B2B2B), just the first one.

We had the same issue very recently with our BTB. Saying it looked like we didn't need a return flight or arriving flight.  Took 3 phone calls before someone figured it out.  She had to unlink our bookings. I think that's what it was.  Unless she had to link them. Whichever it is, it's the opposite of what you have now.  So now we can book both ways on our first flight.  We've booked plenty of BTBs and this has never happened.

(Actually one is only for 30 days but that is something that is difficult to adjust. I have to request a "vacation override" for that one when I travel.

Opps, just read that you know about vacation overrides.

We spoke to our BCBS insurance yesterday and asked if they are allowing overrides on everything since the government is saying to have extra on hand.  We also brought up the anticipated shortages because of manufacturing in China.  Nope!

I have had issues with this in the past. My prescriptions don't all run out at the same time even though I take them all every day. I have tried to get them all on the same schedule - Walgreens has called me several times to ask if I want to do so - but it has never happened. I can't always be certain of having an extra 2 weeks of meds available. It makes me crazy. Every time we go on vacation - which is at least twice a year - I have to deal with this stupidity.

I can get a vacation override once a year.  Try calling your insurance company.

The Polka group on the Shy took over the jazz club, Take Five, ever night as well.

We were on that cruise as well.  After the Sky, we went over to the Zuiderdam for another cruise.  Standing in line waiting to board, we got to talking with the couple behind us.  They were part of the polka group that had just gotten off the Sky.  They were upset that Princess didn't cater to them as much as they thought they should have.  They were upset that they couldn't have Take 5 for as long as they wanted because they waited (some nights!) until the Platinum and Elite lounge was over.  They couldn't see our view.

I doubt if very many people are shallow enough to be concerned about other peoples sailing status. I could be wrong.

Shallow? It has nothing to do with being shallow.  And it has nothing to do with "status" if you're inferring that I feel superior to others being Elite.

We can only cruise once a year.  We live in the middle of the country and it's expensive for us to fly.  I looked forward with each cruise to becoming Elite for the benefits that come with it.  I don't think it's fair that it cost us plenty to get those benefits and then Princess just gives it to others.

  12. We also did an island tour.  I can't remember the name but it was highly recommended. The problem was the roads.  I have NEVER, in 27 cruises, been on an island that had so many curves. I thought Dominica was bad but this was terrible!.  Curves where you couldn't see up ahead again and again.  Our tour guide actually had a motion sickness recipe that she always had with her.  It didn't help!  I get motion sickness and I would have asked for the front seat if I'd known how horrible it would be.  I threw up when we got to the waterfalls.

We also had St. Lucia cancelled and I'm looking for something different.

I am guessing this is the reason we were upgraded early on our 5th cruise, as apart from the first cruise in a junior suite, the subsequent 4 were in a full suite, and by making us loyal to them early (as they did) was a great long term revenue earner for them. To give us Elite early cost them minimally, but potential future cruise revenue from us would be huge - they're certainly not stupid, but we had a great time being Elite that bit early!

It may not cost Princess much but it totally pisses me off every time I read that this has happened.  I think it does cost Princess in customer relations for the people who have cruised enough to earn the status.  Good for you but I think it's a stupid move on the part of Princess.

And actually, being in suites counted as 10 cruises.
