  1. We booked with a TA and our obc (from future cruise certificate and shareholders benefit) shows on page 2 of our cruise documents.

To check when you are onboard the ship, check your folio on the cabin TV or print out your s&s statement at a kiosk.

Thank you for that info! Thing's change SO quickly!

I agree, that checking the folio is a great idea!

  2. How do I check to see if my obc has been posted to my S&S account? Thanks/

On Carnival dot com, go to Manage > My booking > Cruise Documents. Display your cruise documents to see the information.

This will only work if you've booked directly with Carnival. If you've booked with a Travel Agent, they will have the OBC info and should provide you with a copy.

  3. We were going to use SAS Transportation. Hmmm what to do, what to do??? LOL Flights are half price at 10:30 vs 12:30 , but won't be worth it if we miss it!!

JMHO, but we avoid the "cheap" flights. Generally, those are the flight's that are not "makeable" (is that a word?). You might make it, but everything would have to line up :)!

Personally, we'd rather wait a while and even pay a bit more NOT to have to worry about getting home.

    JMHO again,

  4. Sorry, this is something I've never understood :(. On Princess (a Carnival owned line) you can order a Room Service pizza for $3.00 plus tip any time of day. It takes about 30 minutes, they're very good pizza's, and I've never understood why Carnival didn't "join in".

Yes, you can go up to the Pizza Café on deck and order a whole pizza to go, but it will take you between 45 and 60 minutes (or maybe longer) to get your pizza. Seriously, if you want pizza you don't want to wait an hour or more, do you?

This is just what we've experienced,

  5. Our last cruise was on RCL and the frig was horrible. It was warm first of all and had spring loaded mini bar that the cabin steward said if anything was moved we would be charged for. My wife being diabetic keeps her insulin in the frig but it just wasn't worth it on this trip as it felt warmer than the room.

We will be sailing on the Pride this summer and was wondering if they have the mini bars in the frig as well?

They would not remove the mini bar items on RC, I thought they did on Carnival on our last cruise especially in the kids rooms.

This is absolutely unacceptable :(. If true, I'll never be sailing with RC ! I've never been on a cruise where the mini bar item's couldn't be removed and replaced at the end of the cruise, and I don't really "need" thing's removed, as you do for medical reasons.

Then, again, if I really needed meds COLD, I'd ask for a cooler and ice every day!

  6. My daughter is a little younger than your children, but this is our first time on a cruise ship coming up here soon. I am absolutely TERRIFIED that she will somehow get out of the camp, and get lost on the ship. Like nightmares terrified. Did any of you have any of those fears before? I am not going to subject her to the camp if she doesn't like it, and we plan to keep her with us at all ports; unless she really wants to stay back in the camp.

I'm just going by what I've learned and heard. The kid's who go to Camp Carnival love it! My friend's say that they have to "drag" their kid's out just to go to dinner or on a tour. I'd suggest that you let her make the decision. As long as you sign her in and out she's not going to get lost. If she doesn't want to stay in CC, she'll let you know :D!

  7. Let me throw this out there.... we did not add extra days to this cruise so our flight does not get into Miami until 12:30pm. I am assuming the lines will be quite long at this time to get onboard? The main reason for wanting the FTTF is for tenders. I want to make sure that we don't miss an excursion that leaves "promptly" 1 hour after the ship arrives. We have never encountered the need for tenders so I am fearing it a little bit.

I understand that Platinum members get priority and I completely respect that. A spring break cruise means a lot of kids and a lot of standing in lines to me. But then again, maybe not.

If you're taking the ship's excursion's there shouldn't be a problem. It you're doing a private tour the FTTF would be very helpful in getting you off the ship ASAP.

Just FYI, we bought the FTTF for our last cruise and thought it was well worth the price to be escorted through and board early and to have the "special" line at the Purser' Desk. Since that cruise, we're "Platinum", so don't really need any extra perks.

We don't need the early tender option since we don't do a lot of excursions, but if we did it would be worth it!

  8. We enjoy the buffet in the AM. Egg's cooked to order and omelet's ( I don't care what "other's" say, the scrambled egg's on the buffet are powdered :(). On one cruise there were Egg's Benedict that were cooked properly, put on the buffet, and very good, but we've only seen that the one time.

We're especially happy that we can eat any kind of breakfast until 11:00 AM :)!

  9. We are sailing on the Dream on 3/22/14 and my research on these boards results in conflicting information as to whether unlimited interent is offered on the Dream. Can someone who has recently sailed the Dream fill me in on the interent available? Thanks in advance!!

Yes, the Internet is available, but there's no "free" Internet on any ship's we've ever been on. I'd suggest you check out the Internet info:

  10. We have a relative that has a future cruise certificate and has recently passed away. The certificate expires in Jan 2014. Does anyone have experience in getting a refund?

I'm sorry for the loss of your relative. I'd send a copy of the cruise certificate and a copy of the death certificate to Carnival and see what they will do. I wouldn't expect anything, but you never know.

  11. Hi Sara, while it's not "written in stone", from our experience the starboard side of the Lido pool deck is the main smoking area. There's also a smoking area in the Casino Bar and outside the Red Frog Pub (if there's one on the Inspiration ?).

As far as booking a cabin nearby, the deck itself really doesn't matter (it's just a matter of how fast the elevator goes :)). I'd look for a cabin mid-ship as they're usually under the Lido Deck.

    Have a wonderful cruise,

  12. I opened my Carnival e mail, thought it was a duplicate survey. It said thank you for the original feedback (and it wasn't all positive about my platinum debarking experience). So, whether their computer picked up my survey or if a real person read it, at least it was acknowledged. They wanted feedback on VIFP program. Is a second survey common practice? I've always done my surveys before, but this is a first for me to get a follow up one.

Yes, we've had both of the survey's. What was weird was that I answered "NO" to one of the VIFP questions and then was asked about the party (that we didn't go to).

  13. Back in the day, norovirus was called the stomach flu. It made you miserably sick, but didn't last more than two days. It was (and still is) prevalent in any place where there are lot's of people (ships, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, etc.).

Like many of you have said, washing your hands often is the best defense. Also, try to keep your hands away from your face (eyes, nose, mouth).

We've seen so many people who don't use the hand sanitizers :( ! Even if it doesn't prevent noro, it does prevent other infections.

    Stay well,

  14. Hey Plant! Hope you enjoyed your Magic Cruise! We dropped our luggage which also had FTF on the room tags with the porters in Galveston, who added the orange tape (With additional FASTER TO THE FUN identifiers) to all bags loaded with our luggage and we got our luggage within two hours. It might be the orange tape in Galveston.

    Hope you enjoyed your cruise!

    -Boomer

Hey, Boomer, we had a wonderful Magic cruise, and we did get the orange tags. Apparently, there was a back up with the luggage. Nothing we got upset about, though.
