  6. Although a brief stop we found it a great place to visit with very friendly and open locals. The area was surveyed by Lt J. Cook whom did such a thorough job he was appointed to observe the transit of Venus from Tahiti and then search for the Great Southern land, which he found.

  8. You may have seen this location on the news recently, the town was buzzing with international press.
  9. I am very sorry, I was using my iphone rather than my ipad and did not read the message correctly.
  10. I posted as I assumed this thread was for people interested in what their favorite cruise line is doing. This is all in the public domain, as are evacuation flights for various nationalities. I apologise if I have offended. It will not happen again!
  11. Yep the place definitely has its own Vibe. We just came out of heavy fog at the port entrance.

  14. Would it be Aitkenhead Point Devonport Tas?
  15. Yes but at a greatly increased price. An annual worldwide policy for a couple each aged 69 is around $1400. Same policy for 73 year old couple is over $3200.
  16. I second Qantas provided you are under 70yo and without existing medical conditions.
  17. Sharing tables voluntarily was definitely happening on Encounter 2 weeks ago.
  18. Anchored off Airlie Beach today, Clear sunny weather and HOT. Nice day yesterday in Cairns however recent heavy rainfall caused the closure of the Kuranda rail line so many missed out on the eagerly anticipated train trip. We were booked on the train but would have cancelled due to my wife having covid thrust on her by rude, ignorant, old enough to know better passengers. The wheels started to fall off on the afternoon of day 8 when the number of people with dreadful coughs became very noticeable. These people did not seek medical treatment or test for covid as (there is NO covid on this ship because everyone tested before leaving Singapore). My wife tested positive on Tuesday and is isolated until getting off on Saturday. I have remained covid free so far because I am very protective of my personal space, particularly in the pig pen known as The Pantry. The Waterfront and Alfredos restaurants though are very civilised. The contractors erecting equipment for the Edge and Waterslides are making good progress, incidentally they are all from Ukraine and eager to return home after the task is finished.
