Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hope you get well soon!! And thank you for sharing your experience in quarantine. Glad it’s been good so far with the crew. There are posts from other cruisers in quarantine that said that they felt forgotten but it’s good to know that it’s not always the case.
  2. Thanks! It’s great that items from Sabatini’s and Crown Grill will still be available to us homebodies.
  3. Thanks! Darn, I’m in a regular balcony. I don’t mind eating dessert before the entree though!
  4. I found a "Made in USA" brand of KN95s: BNX, and they're made in Texas. I bought several packs of those and find that they do feel sturdier than the made in china ones. I personally prefer the KN95s because they're easier to wear and remove, but I agree that N95s are definitely the better and safer choice if you don't mind the rubber bands around your head and neck.
  5. Are dinner items on the MDR menu generally available on the room service menu as well? How much will I be missing out if I order room service for dinner every night? I would love to still have steak, lobster, escargots, and other seafood dishes, plus dessert! Would rather dine in the MDR every night and enjoy the great company of fellow cruisers but I'm going to be traveling with my mom who is immunocompromised and I've got to be more cautious than usual. Thanks for your advice!
  6. Great to know that it is an option to pick up the medallion device at the pier. Definitely would not want people to know when I'll be away! Thanks!
  7. Hi Princess Cruisers, I ordered just the medallion with the complimentary lanyard, without any of the wearables. For those who've ordered just the medallion and lanyard before, how are they packaged and shipped to your home? Envelope or small box and is it non-descript? Is it shipped via USPS or UPS/Fed Ex? Will it fit through a standard mail slot? I'm going to be away for several days the second-to-last week before my cruise and the last thing I'd want is for a package showing my vacation dates to be sitting invitingly at my doorstep during my absence. It's fine if it's just an envelope that'll fit through the mail slot. If not, I'll just do a vacation hold or have the medallion sent to the pier, though my TA told me that it's usually international cruisers who have the medallion sent to the pier so I'm not sure if that's even an option for me. Thanks for your help!
  8. I share the same concern/fear/anxiety as many of you, and I'm so glad I found this post. I'm going on back to back CA coastal cruises this fall with my mother who is in her 70s. I also have a health condition that doesn't allow me to be masked for long periods of time. I really love cruising and it's really sad for me that we won't be able to return to that carefree, fun experience pre-COVID for I don't know how long. I just don't want it to be lost forever for me. Just the thought of catching the virus mid-cruise and having to quarantine alone away from my mother or the same for her is enough to make me want to cancel (and cry!). And that's not to mention that I may get long COVID since I'm not as healthy and fit as I'd like to be. But whatever ultimate decision you all make, I wish you safe sailing.
