  1. I'd say it was pretty well used. The hours were 8am-10pm most days except for the first and last day (opened at 5pm the first day and closed at 8pm the last day). I will sometimes go after dinner, but I found the late evenings to be almost completely deserted.
  2. Just got back from the Norwegian Jewel and the thermal suite was excellent! It's so nice having such a large men's only area to relax in. There was a steam room (can comfortably fit 4-5), a large sauna, a cold plunge, a large jacuzzi, a couple cold rainfall showers, and about 7 comfortable chairs for lounging. The coed areas has the heated tiled loungers and a thalasso pool. For a 7 day cruise, it cost $199 and was well worth it for me. The ship was packed, so it was nice to have a quiet spot to escape to. Most guys seemed to wear bathing suits, but there was a small group who just went in towels.
  3. Oh he is DEFINITELY using that extra chair by the bed in the cabin...
  4. African geography is some of my favorite. In 7th grade our teacher gave us a 11x17 piece of paper and said "draw Africa. Label every country, capital, river, and mountain range. Do not color two bordering countries the same color." It took WEEKS. Lost points because I swapped Banjul and Bangui. ugh
  5. Are you wearing your pineapple shirt? This is important. Did she want to make it a double tonight?
  6. They completely removed them both on the Emerald? What did they replace them with? All other ships in that class have the same layout
  7. Where did you hear that? The deck plans still show the sauna and steam room. This thread is good for the most part, but people also post a lot of incorrect information.
  8. I would rather jump overboard than eat Carnival MDR or buffet food for anything longer than 2 weeks.
  9. Looking forward to another cruise of you calling out people for doing and saying dumb *****! I'd also recommend the 12 day Carnival Venezia from October 28-November 11. I'll see you at the Italian Style Alchemy Bar
  10. You are too kind! Willdra is the queen of comedy on these boards! Glad you enjoyed it! Despite the "ugly" the Spirit was my favorite cruise of 2022.
  11. I had a couple issues with the class buffering, but it was nothing terrible only happened a few times. This was on Valor and Spirit last year. (P.S. the Peloton bikes on Celebrity cruises are amazing!)
  12. Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this up! I'm going on the Jewel in April and really looking forward to it.
  13. Hi everyone, I'm Nate from DC and just booked this cruise! I'll be sailing solo. I sailed out of NYC last year and loved it. Since we get back on a Thursday, I'm going to spend a long weekend in NYC. Looking forward to trying something a bit different on Carnival.
  14. Whether they have the correct answer is hit or miss. Just google the deck plans. On Deck 11 where the spa and fitness center are located there actually are no cabins and looks like the the co-ed thermal suite is still there. When I was on Jewel OTS, the co-ed thermal suite was removed and replaced with staterooms, but the locker rooms with the sauna and steam room were still there.
  15. You'll love it! I love the Spirit class of ships. I'm trying to find another cruise on Spirit that works with my schedule.
  16. I got back a few days ago from a B2B on the Summit. Really nice ship with a free sauna in the locker room off the solarium. The sauna is weird because it's a wall of windows facing into the locker room, but better than nothing I guess. It can hold about 4 people comfortably. The first cruise, it was pretty crowded most times. The second cruise it was barely used. Crazy how things can be so different cruise to cruise. Since it's also connected to the solarium, you get guys coming in to use the bathroom, and then they'll peak around into the sauna, sometimes lingering a bit longer than normal checking things out...
  17. This is incorrect about Brilliance. They removed the coed thermal suite I think, but the locker rooms with the sauna and steam room haven't been touched. Same thing on Jewel, Radiance, and Serenade.
  18. If I remember correctly, apparently half the casino was smoking and half was non-smoking. The whole casino still smelled like smoke, but one side was worse than the other. The casino is pretty small. (I just got off Celebrity and the entire casino was nonsmoking. It was lovely.)
  19. I've heard about cutbacks, but since I had nothing to compare it to, I didn't feel disappointed at all. I think they are still putting out a very high-quality product that is worth the price paid.
  20. I knew I was forgetting something important! I got a note in my cabin to meet in the Rendezvous lounge at 8:45. I kept the same cabin which was SO NICE. I had a leisurely morning and didn't have to pack anything up. Everyone gathered in Rendezvous and they checked our names off a list. They also provided some pastries, coffee, and juice. Around 9:20 or so, they escorted us off in a line, we went through facial recognition, and walked right back onto the ship. From the time I stepped off to the time I stepped back on was less than 10 minutes. It was so weird being on the cruise with only 20 other passengers. Boarding for the next sailing started about 11, so we had a little over an hour to have the ship to ourselves. They kept your seapass from the first cruise, but I got it back at the end of the second cruise.
  21. I think I've hit most of the highlights and most of my observations about my cruise on the Summit. Did I miss anything or was anyone curious about how I compare Celebrity in certain areas to NCL and Carnival? Overall, had an amazing time and felt like a had "wellness-oriented" cruise. I worked out often. I did yoga in my cabin. I didn't drink thaaaaaaat much. I only took the stairs for 10 days. I read 2.5 books. I had a phenomenal first impression and will definitely keep Celebrity in mind in the future, especially if they run more deals for solo travelers.
