I booked express shuttle from our hotel near the airport to the docks and a return trip. Cost is $12 a person each way.

I ALWAYS buy insurance. If you booked thru a travel agent, ask them. The cruise lines insurance is usually much more. Google it and you will find others.

Thanks for the ideas. I will keep them in mind.

We have been RVer's for the past 17 years and have toured the west coast several times. Thought Port Orchard and Bremerton might be something different. Have done Mt St Helena twice. Not sure what we will do.

Probably won't go into Seattle until the cruise. We have been there several times.
Thinking of going out to Port Orchard and tour there.

I just found a hotel deal in Seattle. Through groupon, I booked Best Western Evergreen Inn at $75 a night. We will be there 3 nights starting on tuesday, June24th.
We will have a car so we can get around. They will keep the car during the cruise for $8 a day. Then we would need the super shuttle to the pier. $12 a person each way. Parking across from the pier is $200 for the cruise time. Not sure what we will do about this.
They do shuttle to the airport and you could get a shuttle from there to the port.

Thoughts on staying out at Port Orchard or Bremerton and taking the ferry in the morning of the cruise.....
Not sure where to stay pre-cruise. We will have our car since we are driving from Florida to the cruise.

We want to bring some wine for our cabin in June. What is the best way to bring it aboard? If we send a box thru or a soft ice chest, will it go ok? Or should I worry about the bottles breaking?

What is the corkage fee if you bring your own bottle?

We are on the 7/27 sailing to Alaska. It is our first with Oceanic. Do the doc come directly to you at home or to your TA?
Hope you give us an account of your cruise. Hints on what to see and do... Hints to enjoy the ship.
Thanks.

I think it was around $200. Look at their site on line for a price and then call them. You may find a different answer if you ask directly.

We cruised out of SF last Sept. I found the Columbus Motor Inn on Columbus Ave. We were able to walk to the waterfront and the cable car was right around the corner. Bus stop is in front of the hotel.
We asked for a room in the back and it was quiet with a wonderful view. Our friends with us were on the Columbus Ave side. They had a small balcony and could see the ship when it pulled in.
Good luck.

I did read the thread. Hubby would rather not wear a jacket and I was wondering if it would be ok.

Thanks. That makes packing easier.

First time on Oceanic. Will DH need a sport jacket in the Grand Dining room? Or is a nice shirt enough?
-
We were there last Sept and had a wonderful tour with Taste of San Francisco. He picked us up at our hotel in a black BMW van with a small group. It was the City tour. We were there during the Americas Cup race. While passing the waterfront, he pulled into a no parking place, hollered unscheduled stop to see the race. I think his name was Gary.
Great tour.

Just being curious about what you can bring on board. We certainly will not abuse it. Plan on using it only in our cabin. Sorry if it sounded like something else.

If we bring a glass of wine poured in our room into a bar or dining room, will this be a problem?
You are saying alcohol is not a problem to bring on. DH likes kaluha in his coffee. If it's in our travel mug, can he then fill it with coffee?
Thanks.

Thanks for the answers on the drinks.
I just got an email answer from Oceanic about bringing wine on board. They said 3 bottles per cabin is the limit.

Are any sugar free drinks or sodas available on the Regatta? I am a diabetic.

Curious - I am diabetic. Are any of the drinks or sodas sugar free? Are there any sugar free drinks available?

Thanks for the help.

How many bottles can you bring?

We will be sailing in June and I am wondering the best way to bring wine for our room on board. What is the best way to pack it? Can we check a box with our luggage?
Also food question - newly diagnosed gluten free. What is the gluten free diet like on regatta? Will there be things I can eat?:o
