  1. Have you been on this ship or a sister ship? The only real dancing area on this ship will be the Garage much later in the evening. You are correct that they teach useless lessons that are not even correct, but a vacation version. My Splendida cruise this past May had karaoke and I believe the Meraviglia also in the TV lounge.
  2. Want your fare to increase after you are paid in full? Want you cruise to be moved to a different date? Different embarkation port? Different country? How about being downgraded to a much lesser cabin with no reduction in fare? All of the above has happened to me. Downgrade was from YC to a regular balcony.
  3. Transfer to a TA if you can. Too many issues may arrive and it's better to have a TA. Costs you nothing.
  4. YC is separate from all other area's including it's deck. You will not get into YC. Aurea has its separate area as well on deck from lower categories. Spa is for all who either get it or pay for it.
  5. Just regular. The Mera has the rear area which works fine for those shows. The seashore has a double deck venue/lounge on 7&8.
  6. On a 3 night, white nights is probably the biggest one. There are no more formal nights fleetwide. You can purchase coffee. Biggest thing I can tell you is to use a travel agent. If you booked direct, transfer it to one. This company has the worst customer service and it. If you have an issue, the TA can fix it. Great product though.
  7. Actually have had several cancelled over the years but they are not your average ones. Flight seeing, Scuba, and even Zipline are some examples.
  8. You may be able to bid in September, but you probably won't know until 10 days prior if you won. You must be in a balcony to bid YC. What essiesmom is saying is that there are a ton of balconies and it's easier to go up 1 from OV instead of 2 from inside. The reasoning is spot on for bidding.
  9. You would be surprised at how many cancellations they get, I was told on my last cruise there were two dozen by CD. ( not sure if people or cabins)but in the haven, being so small it's probably 1 or none. Good luck
  10. I have several times over the years when looking to do the Caribbean but I also used the card for business so had almost 2 million miles at one point. Still have a couple hundred thousand despite being retired. I have also used the OBC option as well on the free cruise. Cabin upgrade is your best option
  11. The airport is some distance from the port. Took us an hour and was $85 Euro.
  12. Trieste is a very small old town. They lack hotels and there is not much to see or do. The checkin building is old and Small. We did not embark in either. We embarked in Saudi Arabia.
  13. To add another person would add another fare. They would become the 4th but, I assume one of the minors already paid the big fare so a 4th might be cheap.
  14. Who verified it? Not NCL as they don't run the program. The bid max does not always work out like you think. The same with the theory that it depends on what you paid as well as the first to bid. I can debunk all of that. If multiple people bid max, your bidding may go live. That turns into a crap fest for sure. I was involved in one for a cruise last November. 7 Haven categories. On 6 categories I was over $7500 per person live bid and lost. I did win a spa haven at $4015 per person I think.(21 night repo cruise) The theory of what you originally paid? I always use points for inside to Balcony and booked the first day it's available. So I am at an advantage from the start you would think . Status? Sapphire, almost Diamond. Over the years I have had over 100 max bids on several cruises for several Haven's placed within the first minutes of the offer email or before the email. Never won one. Only the live bid did I win. With MSC, that's the opposite. I always won by a max bid. Now I don't want to take a chance. I just pay it. First to bid? If you know the upgrade address you can sometimes bid prior to the email. I did that for an upcoming princess cruise and got the email a week later. I ended up cancelling and just paid the fare to get what I wanted. The odds are so against you when dealing with the top categories. Them saving categories for bidding makes zero sense. Bid on many categories to increase your odds. Just buy it if you really want it. If you can't, It's not available. Bidding on sold out categories is just in case of a last minute cancellation.
  15. I called boa a little awhile ago and was told no to the NCL card. I will go personally into a branch in a couple of days and see. I have both the balance in BOA for years and I also have a ML account. Let's see how I can capitalize on this as I prefer Haven's.
  16. Are you sure the NCL card is one of the cards in that program? I know several others are eligible.
  17. At first I was replying to a post that stated it doesn't exist. But it does and I like it. As I posted in the prior posting, that is what I got . Why would I disclose to possibly hundreds of other Sapphires or Diamonds the way to do it. Ambassadors know what it is, as they get it. Keep in mind it also depends on the ship whether it has a Haven or not and if the haven restaurant is inside the enclave and if the concierge recognizes the status. Your milage may vary.
  18. Last non haven cruise was last October on the Spirit. I had a balcony cabin. I got canapes every afternoon, was able to eat in Cagney's for breakfast and lunch, got to sit up on the upper reserved balcony for shows, had the concierge book specialty dining which we had 8 dinners on a 16 night cruise and all were booked by the concierge. When coming back from shore excursions we were escorted to the front as well as getting off on tender ports also escorted to the front.
  19. I actually did get the concierge before I switched to Havens. Many extra perks have been given to me over the last several cruises. There is something that Sapphires need to do or get done prior to boarding which I am not going to disclose because everyone would start doing it. It is listed as a perk and it's real. Keep in mind you are now expected to top them as well.
  20. At the time no. I actually had to get an attorney involved . The contract states they can basically change anything at any time for operational reasons. The bottom line is they wanted me to cancel. They did not want to honor CLIA. So they made it miserable for me. We were finally given the opportunity to cancel with no penalty weeks before which of course we did with the understanding they would take care of me later, which they did not.
  21. No different than going in to get a cash advance.
  22. They downgraded me with no reduction in fare from Yacht club to a regular balcony and to top it off, that downgrade did not include booze or Internet or any access to yacht club.
  23. Or go into BOA and have them do the charge .
  24. Use a TA! Keep an eye on your booking just to make sure that they don't bump you out of YC into a regular cabin. Never call them! We sailed with out Grand kids this past March ages 4 & 6. They were bored with the 1 1/2 hour dinner each evening and did not like most of the topsail snacks. As pointed out, the pool is deeper. They preferred the jungle pool and kids deck area as there are other kids to play with.
