I loved the Splendor!! I was on her back in 2010 and had a blast. I would suggest trying the Steakhouse, really good food for $35 per person. It is so worth it, be prepared to stay in there for at least 2 hours. You will feel pampered and the food is Great!! Enjoy your cruise.

230 Days until I am Victorious on the Victory!! That's too many days for me however, I am learning how to practice patience!

I have been on the Magic and I have done the Western Caribbean Itinerary about 4 times each. I love it!! I especially love Roatan. The beaches are awesome. Cozumel is my next favorite port. I love Mexico and there are some really good excursions to be had while in Cozumel. Plus, you can sample Tequilla (for free) just about everywhere in the city. :)

I continue to cruise with Carnival because I haven't found a reason to NOT cruise with them. I like what I get for the money I'm spending. I don't go on a vacation just to find things to complain about. Is everything to my liking? No. Is everything perfect? No. But it's nothing that I would consider a deal breaker or cause me to look elsewhere for cruising. I've also sailed on Celebrity and Princess as well and I don't have a problem with either of them. Majority of my cruises are with Carnival because I find deals that are too good to pass up. So once I board the Carnival Ship, all my cares just float away, and it's "Fun for All, and All for Fun". :)

Loved your blog!! I think my favorite picture was the one with you, your friends, and the ship as a reflection in your husband's sunglasses.

Favorite: Splendor - The Pink Decor didn't bother me one bit, however, pink has always been my favorite color. Second, would be the Legend and then the Valor.
Least Favorite: Destiny - That's when the ship was sailing out of San Juan. It wasn't the ship that was the problem it was the passengers.

Our last cruise was on the Magic, September 2012.
For cruise elegant nights, I saw lots of women who were dressed up. The ladies had on dressy dresses, cocktail dresses and fancy long dresses. A few of them had on dressy pants suits, with some wearing dress pants with fancy tops/blouses.
The men wore everything from suits, a few in tuxes, dressy pants and dress button-down shirts with matching ties to docker pants with floral caribbean shirts. I didn't see anyone with jeans on in the MDR on elegant nights. Yes jeans were popular on cruise casual nights. Both men and women had on jeans but dressed them up with nice shirts/tops.
We tend to dress up ourselves on elegant nights but that's our choice because we want to look good and take really nice pictures to buy.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your review! I've been reading it each day. Your pictures are always great, and you do such a fantastic job at writing your cruise reviews. Great Job!

Your reviews are always good and you take EXCELLENT Pics!!

I totally agree with you INCHARGE!! I have said those same exact words. I would be on a ship every couple of months. I could ditch airfare and be Out of Here!! It would be nice if they could put a port here in Cleveland. I could be there in 25 minutes. Yeah, I know, wishful thinking!!

I always enjoy your reviews and your pictures too!! Thanks for posting and can't wait to read more.

If St.Thomas is one of your ports, then you might be able to find that ring or a similar one there. You can look in the jewelry shops along where the ship docks or you can go into town and look at the many jewelry stores there. The ring is pretty, good luck and enjoy your cruise!

I've been on the Valor out of Miami 3 times. It's actually one of my favorite ships next to the Legend. Although I haven't been on any of the ships that have the 2.0 upgrades, I still like the Valor and the decor of the ship. I really don't think you'll be uphappy!

Okay thanks for the Information! I appreciate the quick response! :)

I enjoyed the Videos! Thanks for posting. I do have a question. How much did it cost for the Corkage Fee? It is a one time fee? Or did you bring your own wine opener?

I always pack a Hoodie! As others have said, there are areas on the ship where it gets cold.

Yep, the lines were long on the Magic....and if you didn't get there about 30 minutes before the show you were out of luck. Then we went on the Triumph and you could walk right in and get a seat. It was rarely crowded either, they would let us stay in our seats for the next show. Go figure.
I get the small setting but they need to figure out a better way for people to see the shows. The line went all the way down the promenade and it was hard for folks to even get by to go to other areas.
This was my exact same experience on the Magic, September 2012!! You cannot stay in your seats when the show is over. The Staff make you leave the room, you have to get back in line (Which will be long) and re-enter the room!!

I have sailed on the Carnival Valor twice, once doing an Eastern Caribbean Cruise and one once doing a Western Caribbean Cruise. I have 9 cruises total with Carnival and one sailing on Celebrity Cruise Line on the Century. I have sailed out of San Juan 3 times total (Carnival 2 times and Princess Cruise Line once), all doing the Southern Caribbean. Here's some differences I noticed between the Carnival and Celebrity. Carnival is the funships and there's plenty to do to keep you occupied and having a good time. On Celebrity I was kinda bored once late dinner was over, mainly because there were limited things to do after 9 or 10 o'clock. However, on Celebrity the service is Top Notch, hands down. The average age of passengers on Celebrity was probably 57 and over (I went on Celebrity at the age of 39). The buffet on both lines are pretty much the same. The MDR on Celebrity is more upscale and yes, as someone else said, the people dress more in fine/elegant clothing and the men do wear their tuxedos. Also on Celebrity, while the few people I met were friendly, they weren't overly eager to mix and mingle with others. They sort of stuck to who they sailed with, which was a switch from the Carnival Passengers who I always strick up a conversation with total strangers and we have drinks together or are on an excursion and we chat-it-up while having a good time.
I don't think you'll go wrong going on either cruise line as they both were fun times just as on any of the cruise lines I've traveled with. It depends on if the things I've mentioned and how important or not to your liking.

Thanks for posting your Review! The pictures you took were great! Happy Belated Birthday.

I say go to Tabyana Beach!! You can google it and see just how nice it is. I've been there 3 times and I'd love to be there now instead of at my desk working! If you go, I don't thin you'll be disappointed at all. Try there Ice Tea, they make it and add a little Cinnamon to it. So Refreshing!

My choice is not listed. I would love to have Cleveland as a port to sail from. I could be there in 25 minutes!! It might be a little too cold to sail from during the winter months though. :(
