Hello! I am trying to make a teppanyaki reservation for my september 27 voyage on the Horizon...does anyone know the email to make a reservation? It's now showing on the specialty dining options. I called but the lady I spoke with couldn't help me nor tell me if it was booked.

    Hello ANcruisers!!

We are on the same cruise as you. The days don't seem to be moving that fast though. It's still a ways out.

    Good Morning,

We are traveling on the Carnival Glory at the end of March.  Wondering if there is anyone on here that has been on the Glory since the switch over to Pepsi.  We have seen several blogs that have said the Carnival New Orleans and Galveston Cruises are serving Dr. Pepper, but when I call Carnival they say no, that the beverages are the same fleet wide.  Just looking for some clarification before we purchase Bottomless Bubbles.

There is a thread titled "Family Glory Cruise February 2 - 9, 2020" by a familiar posted named "Grandmarnnurse". She and her family just finished a cruise on the Glory so she might be a good source for your questions.  She's doing her review with pictures, check it out!

  3. The only Gifts that I've been involved in is where we did the Meet & Greet and played a game. Each person brought a gift to the Meet & Greet that represented their state or some other small token as a gift (not more than $10). We played Dirty Santa with the gifts. You could pick a gift when it was your turn but if someone else before you picked something you wanted, you could 'Steal" it from that person. Each person came with a gift and left with a gift. That's the only thing I could related your question to. If you meant something else, Sorry for my wrong answer.

Money, ship card, credit cards, phones - all go in waterproof pouches around our neck.  Camera doesn't fit in the pouch, so if we are swimming, it has to stay in the backpack with our towel & coverup.  I put my stuff where I can see it from the water.

This is Exactly what DH and I do when we're at the Beach! Can't stress this enough, Be sure to put your belongings in Sight! Some Beach Resorts have lockers that you can rent, and I've done that as well. When DH is taking a break and not in the water then he keeps his eyes on our things. He also carries a Backpack to put our things in, such as Towels, Swim Cover Ups, and extra Tee Shirt for him, Sunscreen, Etc.

  5. Thank You So Much for Doing the Video Review. My DH and I, along with our best friends, who happen to be Cruise Newbies are headed to Cozumel in Late September. I also checked out your video review of Mr. Sancho's. I'll see what others want to do but I think I'm going with Mr. Sancho's just to give it a try. Next time, I'll check out Nachi Cocom. I usually hang out at Carlos and Charlies so this gives me more options and something different to try out.

After doing all the research that I could, I need your help deciding on a cruise.

    Option 1:

6 Day Western Caribbean from Miami on Carnival Horizon

Ports of Call - Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel

    Option 2:

7 Day Eastern Caribbean from Port Canaveral on Carnival Breeze

Ports of Call - Amber Cove, St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk

Price difference is around $250 with Option 2 being the more expensive option...but we also live in Orlando, so it's a quick drive to the port. Both ships look similar from what I can tell, but still having trouble deciding between the two. Ocho Rios has an excursion we would love to do, but I would also love another trip down to St. Thomas. 1 ship leaves a day after the other, so timing isn't an issue. We haven't been on either ships, or sailed on something this new yet 😀 so I feel like we can't go wrong with either choice, just wanted to see WWCCD (What Would Cruise Critic Do).

    Help a girl out, please?!

    Hey JayMo!

Hubby and I were in the exact same predicament as you. We chose the Horizon because we haven't been on anything this new and the Price Was Right!! I also happen to LOVE St. Thomas and going out of Port Canaveral is Easy Peasy. We have another couple, our best friends who have never cruised before, coming along with us as well and they wanted to go to Jamaica really bad. Don't get me wrong, I too love Jamaica but I was hoping they would want 7 days verses 6 days but I want them to have the Best Time Ever and fall in love with cruising so I let them win out. And DH and I get to see things from Cruise Newbies Eyes. We are going down to Miami 2 days ahead of the cruise so we'll still be gone for a week! YAY!

    Enjoy your cruise!

Hey everybody! So we're leaving in a few days to go on the 8 night Horizon trip. We've not planned much because we weren't sure until the last minute we'd actually be able to go, so now I'm trying to figure out what we can do in the different ports. In Grand Turk, we don't seem to be there that long (7-2), but I would like to try to visit the Bohio resort for some beach time based on reviews that I read. My fear is that with the time frame, its pretty much pointless and not relaxing. We'd prefer to get away from the crowds and just have some quiet, which doesn't sound like the usual Jack's Shack/Margaritaville route.  The place I wanted to go in Aruba is sold out, the DH isn't excited about Curcao, and we don't know if we'll get off the boat in La Romana...so I'm just striking out all around. Opinions are welcome and requested. Thank you

Ps: I scoured the Grand Turk board but its very quiet and time is flying by on me.

My DH and I were just in Aruba back in September 2019. We did a Carnival Excursion called "The Kukoo Kunuku Party Bus & Nightlife with Dinner. LOVED It! If you like to have a good time, good food, and dance then this is the tour for you. You can read the short bio on Carnival's Shore Excursion Page. During the day, we shopped and had a small lunch on the Island.

On longer cruises we normally will dress up (Suit, Tie, etc.) but on 3 day did not plan and taking any of that along. What would be acceptable dress for that night if I did not take Suit, Coat or Tie? Of course wife always dresses up.

My Husband wore Nice Docker Pants (Chocolate Brown) with a Polo Shirt (Brown and Cream Stripe) for one of the Cruise Elegant Nights back in September on the Carnival Magic.

  9. As the above posted stated, Carnival will bring out a dessert from the dessert menu on that particular night you choose to celebrate, with a candle lit on top of the Dessert. Your Dining Room Waiters will sing to you and then say, "Kissy Kissy"! It's really cute and you or someone at your table can take a picture with your camera or phone whichever you are using.

My DH and I just celebrated our Honeymoon on the Magic back in September one night in the Main Dining Room and it was fun. We also ordered our own Cake from the Cruise Line and celebrated Again the night before Debarkation.

  10. This Thread has been so Helpful. It answered many questions that I had about Cruise Cash, Cash, Gift Cards, Savings and such. Thanks to all who replied in this thread. Now I have a few more things about cruising and money under my belt.

Just tried watermelon vodka for the first time New Year Eve. Is it available on the ships?

Yeeesssss! This is some Good Stuff. Had my first drink using Cîroc Watermelon Vodka back in July for my Birthday.

I asked for this same Vodka on my last two cruises in May (Elation) and September (Magic) and the bartenders told me they did not carry of the Cîroc Brands.

  12. I find the Steakhouse Very Worth the Money. I've been on 3 different cruise lines and I always try a Steakhouse if the ship has one. I've enjoyed all my meals thus far and have no regrets booking it. I don't have any kids so I cannot comment on the 2nd half of your question. Since you mentioned that your son is a Foodie, I'd say give it a go and I don't think he'll be disappointed.

  13. My DH and I just did this excursion when we were on the Carnival Magic back in September of this year. Aruba was our 2nd stop and we both signed up for the Kukoo Kunuku Excursion on the ship at the Shore Excursion Desk. We had a guide by the name of Baby Girl and we had a very fun and entertaining bus driver but I have forgotten his name. They were really into the crowd and made sure we all had a blast. As the previous posted stated, it was a great way to Experience Aruba. The tour has many stops and we were given a great dinner, which the dinner is included in the tour price.

Everyone on our bus all agreed that this tour was probably one of the best tours we've done through the Cruise Line. If you sign up for this excursion, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

  14. I have been on the Carnival Magic a total of 3 times, twice while she was brand new and sailed from Galveston. The most recent was September 14th, 2019 out of Fort Lauderdale and in no way is the ship Rundown or Neglected. Staff was constantly cleaning and taking care of her so she could shine as she should.

If the Ship was labeled "Garbage" then I don't think anyone would book her and she would probably sail with nobody hardly on her. But she sails at Full Capacity on many sailings. So far this ship is one of my favorites.
