Why would anyone want to drink  in their suite is beyond me. With so many beautiful bars and lounges to go to ! The red wines that are complimentary are not good. We are accustomed to drinking good wine and find those to be awful. I usually need to have the food and beverage director go and find me something that is drinkable. The house champagne is ok...not great. FYI: Most of the red wines are under $15 retail that are complimentary.

Thanks mrstanley for your comments. My wife is an avid red wine drinker, and sometimes late in evening likes to watch some TV and have a (full!!) glass of wine

Disappointed to hear about the quality, will plan to bring a few GOOD bottles on board, which we have done on many cruises.

Sheila, I agree that 820 and 821 excellent Cat B’s. They are not available for docmark’s cruise. 722 and 723, which are in the same position as 820 and 821, are available and would be my recommendation. Note that most of the deck plans for deck seven show the elevators and stairs too far forward. They are in the same position as on deck eight. FWIW, I just upgraded to 722 on myJuly 2022 Splendor cruise so I’m putting my money where my mouth is. 😄

Dave, would you point out how I can identify "occupied/ reserved" Suites on Regent website, Please !!

    Thanks

I guess I was very lucky then.  Tuesday afternoon I upgraded a back to back booking in late 2022 from G to E, but did not get the confirmation until Wednesday at almost noon Pacific time because they were getting so many requests.  If B2Bs are no longer included, I sneaked in just under the wire.  🙂

After waiving the hotel, the total cost for E was $210 pp less than we had originally for G, even with the January price increase.  Since we are only Bronze until we board for this booking, the 4 wifi connections and early booking for excursions and dining will be very welcome.  It is a great promotion and it sounds like they are getting a good response.

The promotion is 2 level upgrade, G to E is skipping F (WHICH HAS 2 SUB-CATEGORIES) ,please explain how this is done  . Thanks

Docmark. My husband and I are also doing this cruise. We have never cruiser with Regent, and have never been to Tokyo. We opted for the pre cruise land with the thought that it gives organized sightseeing and on own time. If you opt to do the pre cruise also perhaps we'll meet😊

Great Cleckie, I am leaning toward doing the pre cruise. Already have booked business flight LAX-TOKYO, arriving 5:15 AM , worried about feasibility of checking in that day, since info on pre-cruise package says check-in is 4 pm. Looking forward to meeting you !!

  5. ------"This i some of what I posted here on May, 17, 2019 about our mariner cruise from Tokyo to Vancouver."

Thanks a lot "DeepFreeze" ,  your comments are definitely encouraging to consider the package.

Incidentally, Tokyo Hilton is sold out for the pre-cruise dates, wonder if Regent can get it

  6. I appreciate your comments Ronrick, and we also do mostly arrival and departure ports on our own..  However I would like to  hopefully get some input from people who have used the "package", since browsing through Tokyo hotels, the "HILTON" stay at TOKYO appears attractive.

Hope to hear more comments from people who have used the package

  7. We are booked on Explorer Nov 2-Dec.2  2021 Tokyo to Singapore. Would like to know any suggestions for the included pre-cruise "LAND" PACKAGE, is it worth it, or is it better to take the credit and plan it on our own?

Also any recommendation for Tokyo hotels would be greatly appreciated

  8. Thanks Flossie for your helpful summary. We are more curious about dinners. Booked on Explorer November 2021. Will you please  give your personal opinion on specialty restaurants(rating) and difficulty/ease of booking (we are booked Concierge, so no butler) . There will be 6 of us (3 couples)

    Really appreciate your input

dockmark, i’m sure others may disagree but, personally, I wouldn’t book 1210. It has a narrower balcony than most category D’s, is above either a WC or a supply storage room for the pool deck and possibly other areas and because I don’t care to be high up and forward. YMMV.

    DAVE

Thanks Dave, will pursue 729  with TA

  10.

----------"P.S. Consiider booking your own air. The air credit is generous and out of Los Angeles for example, you could fly Singapore nonstop both ways in Business Class and save over $1000 pp. Other top notch airlines such as Cathay Pacific are also available with similar savings"

Thanks Dave, DEFINITELY doing our own Air, already reserved one way, LAX to Tokyo!!

--Really appreciate your detailed suggestions on Suites. We are going with D, so will check into your suggestions with TA.   What is your opinion on Deck 12?

  11. "Is there a reason your TA is only giving you one available suite to choose at a time? If you will post which cruise you are considering, I’ll be happy to let you know which suites are available."

    ------Thanks Dave

Cruise  is Nov.2 -Dec.2 2021, Tokyo to Singapore, the highest suite available is D category. Please let me know what  cabin number in that category you propose.
