  1. Prior to sailing on the Alure I read many reviews and comments about Samba and found that either people loved it or hated it.

So glad that I didn't listen to the people that hated it as we have had a couple of great meals there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Same thing for Chops.

Thanks for the feedback. We have always had great experiences with Chops, we eat there at least once a cruise, and wanted to try Samba as we have a similar restaurant near our home that we love.

  2. Chefs Table not part of the package.

I still highly recommend getting the dining package, and your best MDR dinner menu's are the two formal nights.

    Thanks for the information.

We want to get a dining package as we think it will be nice to mix it up between the MDR and Specialty Dining over 11 nights. Just need to decide on how many nights now that the Chef's Table isn't included. And we already purchased the FNDR option.

  3. We are sailing on Radiance of the Seas for 11 nights next month and considering the 5 Night Dining Package. We wanted to know which specialty restaurants are included in this package, as this information is not listed in the description.

We know the following restaurants are on Radiance of the Seas: Chops Grille, Samba Grill, Chef's Table, Izumi and Giovanni's Table. Does anyone know if all of these restaurants are a part of the package? We know that we would get a $35 credit for food at Izumi since it is a la carte, but were really curious to know if the Chef's Table would be included in this dining package.

  4. We just got our Visas online for our cruise next month.

This is our second time sailing out of Sydney. On our last trip, the agent at the check in counter in Chicago verified that we had our Visas before handing over our boarding passes (we were flying through LAX to SYD).

  5. We sailed on Ovation from Hong Kong to Singapore last November and had a fantastic time. We loved all the amenities the ship had to offer, were very pleased with the crew members we encountered and really enjoyed the ports in Asia.

We had also read some negative reviews prior to our sailing. While there were some different behaviors regarding line and elevator etiquette, we did not let it have a negative effect on our experience.

We would definitely sail on Ovation again, and would book another Asian itinerary.

Please feel free to reach out with questions.

  6. We sailed Star Class last year and our Genie took care of everything. In our email we shared the places and times we wanted to eat, and the shows we wanted to see, and she had everything set up for us when we boarded. We changed one of our reservations at the last minute, my husband wasn't feeling great so wanted something delivered to the room, and she was able to get us into the restaurant we wanted the next day with no issue.

We were on Ovation, and she scheduled the iFly and North Star for us. She met us at each event, and took pictures of us.

Our Genie was amazing, and we loved our Star Class experience. Enjoy!!

  7. We did a similar cruise with two of your stops.

I don't believe there were a lot of options for Mystery Island. We also stopped at Noumea and we did a ship sponsored tour to an island with a lighthouse. We had a wonderful time.

Have you checked out the ports of call section of cruise critic? You will probably find more information there than on the main board.

Also, have you connected with your fellow cruisers on the Roll Call? You might be able to join a private tour that has already been organized.

    Have a wonderful vacation.
