  1. If you want a good margarita, then don't go to Wet Wendy's at all. They had quite possibly the worst margarita on the island when we were there last fall.

Try Woody's at the back of the "square." Great margaritas and they have live music everyday. Not sure what time it starts though.

  2. I can't remember anything specific except what I'd put in a trip report "I think we ended up paying a tab of 516 pesos for 4 four really good cocktails and some poppers." I think that was with tip and the exchange rate was around 18 when we were there in October.

I'd say pretty reasonable I think for a beach club. 2 for 1 cocktails if you go at happy hour :)

  3. We are going to do a private cave tubing tour but it makes me sad that I might not get to snorkel in Belize. When we are dropped back at the terminal area will there be a beach area to snorkel right there? I feel like I remember someone saying there was a lot to do right at the terminal (zip line? Maybe that was in Roatan?).

Is it unrealistic to try to do both?

  4. All we really want to do in Roatan is snorkel and float around in a pool - if a pool is available. Do any of the beach club things offer a pool?

I usually like to do my own thing but we're taking another couple and I think they'd be more comfortable with an organized excursion. And frankly Roantan is confusing me! I'm tired of trying to plan something. I'm doing the planning at our other two ports so would like to have someone else take care of me at this port I think.

  5. Do you want water toys and such or just a chair and water?

We went to Money Bar last week and loved it. Just a bar, restaurant and ocean to snorkel. No big water toys but you can rent snorkel equipment and even book a snorkel trip on a boat.

  6. 8:30? Holy cow what an abrupt way for this night owl to end vacation!

What time do they stop serving breakfast? I'm thinking I might have room service like someone else suggested. Or can I drag my bags to the buffet?

  7. I second the sunset sail! cozumelsailing.com/sunset.html

So many wonderful places to eat! There is an Argentinian place - Del Sur - that has the best chicken and empanadas. I think it opens at 5:00 p.m. If you want Mexican food there are ton around the "town square" - centro. Casa Denis is a good one. It really depends on how far you are willing to go to eat.

If you do go to el centro, check out Woody's at the back of the square. They have live music most nights. You can eat there too.

  8. Coz is pretty small and easy to get around on. Yes you can book once you're out of the pier area. No worries about getting back on time.

I second the recommendation to read the Cozumel forums on TA. Lots of great people with great information.

  9. Not so much a question, more of a rant.

Why are people allowed to save chairs on the decks? I can see it if I get there before my fiancé and I save him a seat next to me, but getting there at the crack of dawn to lay your towel down? Seriously? And then you may or may not even show up for hours or at all?

Pft. I've decided that I'm going to plop my butt down and watch the time. If someone shows up in 15-20 minutes I'll be apologetic and move. That seems a reasonable amount of time if you need to run back to the cabin or restroom. After that, I'm not feeling bad at all.

I'm mad as *^%# and I'm not gonna take it anymore! Ok not really, but I thought it was good effect :p

  10. Wow, I have no intention of being rude in anyway while playing cards. Just looking for some place (preferably outside if the weather is nice) to have fun.

We will however sit at our dining table as long as we please. I wouldn't presume to tell someone how long they can linger at a table. We are on vacation and paying just as much for our experience as anyone else. We are not on lunch break from work where we have to hurry.

Sometimes when we go out to eat we sit and have a drink and chat for 30 minutes before we order. I know that won't be possible in the MDR, but I'd certainly not expect to chastised for spending my dining time the way I enjoy at any other eating area.

Sorry for the thread interruption...back to finding places to have fun!

  11. We are traveling with another couple and we LOVE to play cards and games. We are not quite players and we like our cocktails so where would you suggest to do that on the Dream? Would we find tables outside somewhere that would be suitable or do we need to find a bar?

  12. I've rented from Isis before and they are very honest. I've never rented at the pier.

You might consider getting a taxi at the pier and having them drive you around. Driving on the island can be tricky and hiring a taxi for a few hours isn't much different than the price of a car rental.

  13. Does anyone know for sure if a tour boat can pick you up at the ship or do you HAVE to tender first and then meet your tour?

Thanks Mmj326. I read about your tour on the other thread. Ivar sounds great but there are only four of us and we wouldn't be interested in paying that kind of money when there are so many other tour options. Glad you enjoyed!

  14. I chose early dining and now I'm questioning myself. Can you ever change after a night or two? I say that because the first two nights early dining will be fine. The next three are port days and I don't want to have to rush back. But then again, don't you always have to be back by 4:00 or 5:00 when the ship leaves at 5 or 6:00?

Does anyone like Anytime Dining? Can I switch to that anytime I want? Is there a good time to go when you won't have a long wait?

If I keep my 6:00 can we show up and do Anytime Dining if we don't make it in time?

I know we can always eat at the buffet but I really prefer being seated and waited on while on vacation.
