  1. There are several reviews on TA both in the review section and on the Coz board. I haven't done it yet but am considering it when we go in September. Not sure if we'll do Tiger's or JJ's but they are about the same I think.

  2. Our favorites ever are Albino's (pronounced Albeeno's) and Del Sur.

Albino's is open around noon until 7:00 I think. They have huge shrimp wrapped in bacon covered in cheese sauce. And their coconut shrimp is divine. We also thought they had the best pico on the island. Very "locals" place.

Del Sur doesn't open until 5:00 or so but my fiancé said it was the best chicken he'd ever had in his life. I love the empanadas. It isn't a cheap place but delicious food.

El Pique is off the main drag a few blocks and have the best taco's al pastor. Not sure what their hours are. Very "locals" place.

Crazy King Burrito has the best burritos on the island in our opinion. We did a little taste testing when we were there last spring.

La Conchita Del Caribe had coconut shrimp as big as my hand. They have tons of other fresh fish. Very "locals" place.

We are back for 8 days this fall and have a whole list of others to try and still try to work in all of the above. I'll gain 10-15 pounds!

  3. I'm tired of searching threads so I'll just ask my questions :D

What sort of table games do they have and what are the limits?

Do they have poker tournaments? If so, how much is the buy in?

I saw something about video Hold 'Em. Can anyone confirm that?

What are the slot amounts? Nickel? Penny? Dollar only?

Do they have all of the other regular roulette, craps etc.?

  4. What is your favorite thing to do on days spent at sea? Pool? Bars? Casino?

We'll have two consecutive days on the way home in March. Just dreaming about all of the things I can do on my floating resort.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions.

Not to stir the pot, but I dont do animals in captivity tours. I feel bad for them and I'd be the one person the jaguar decided to bite instead of kiss!

I'll stick to face down in the water exploring beautiful reefs and fish while trying to keep my distance from anything that looks like it might hurt me!

  6. I've decided to skip the cave tubing and try to find a great boat snorkel tour in Belize. We'd like to do as much snorkeling and boat time as possible.

I do know that there are some cayes that you can go to and snorkel right there, but wouldn't we see more from a boat? Cozumel is that way. You "can" do it from shore but out on a boat is much better.

We usually book privately but not opposed to a Carnival tour if it is super fantastic and better than a private tour.

    Anyone have recommendations?

  8. Yeah, I can't stand missing the snorkeling. We have "floating" here at home which is kind of the same as tubing except we don't do it through caves.

Maybe we'll like Belize enough to come back for a week or so and we'll tube then.

Now I just have to choose a snorkel tour!

    Thanks.

  9. It does help. Thanks.

I just can't decide whether we should snorkel or cave tube. Is there no place near the ship to snorkel then? I don't want to miss great snorkeling, yet cave tubing seems to be something offered only in Belize.

    Ugh!

  10. My first cruise was 10 years ago with my to teen girls. We got a free upgrade from ocean view to balcony or balcony suite. Suite I think. Either way, we were super excited! Maybe it was because of the odd number of passengers?

Just booked my second cruise - balcony on the Dream. Not sure what we could get upgraded to but I might take it if it is free :p

  11. Workerbee, if you only go to a beach club you have missed everything!

We are going to go out on a boat snorkel tour. Then we'll hire a taxi to take us to the east side of the island. The other "wild" side of the island is completely different. The east side has big waves, rocky shore, great beach bars to sit and feel the breeze while you have food/drink and just relax.

If we were going to be there in the evening we'd go to Woody's and listen to live music.

What do you like to do?

  12. How do you choose? I've read don't be under the galley or theater. Or don't be above a bar or something else. Front, middle, back?

How do I know if I'm choosing a crappy cabin? What difference does it make if you are on one side or front to back?

Cove balconies look like caves but people seem to love them. Is a regular balcony open all the way down? Is there just a railing between me and the next door cabin or is there also a wall/door between us?

    Help?

  13. I thought I read a thread or went to a tour website where you could cave tube and snorkel all in the same day. Does anyone know if I'm remembering correctly? It might have been a private sort of company. Can't believe I didn't book mark the link/site/thread.

    Help?
