Same here. I have been on numerous cruises out of numerous ports (including Florida) where ship time was changed to match port time. They typically put a little notification card on your pillow telling you to set your clock forward or backward as needed.
I agree. It's easy for people to say, "just don't go if you don't like it", but that's one less major event to attend for many that are tired of it. RC had the chance to come up with a completely different experience, but sadly, they didn't.
The comments on this thread have been based on the presumption that the original story is true as stated. Is it possible that some or all of it is false? Sure. But really that's beside the point, as the discussion is basically, if this story is true, who was at fault?
The cruise line did provide the information. The problem is, the information they provided was incorrect. The consumer DID act accordingly to the provided (incorrect) information. There was no reason for confusion, as the consumer was provided the same incorrect information 3 times.
Great post. There's simply no excuse for the phone agents giving out incorrect information about something as important as this.
Many of us here on CC (and I'm sure many other RC cruisers) know that RC's phone agents notoriously give out incorrect or inconsistent information, but I would bet that there are a lot of people that don't know this, and that would understandably trust the information provided by the phone agents.
I suspect RC records all of the phone conversations. I would hope that the OP could somehow have RC review the calls, and that the OP could receive some sort of compensation (although I doubt this will happen).
That's pretty bad, that they told you multiple times that there were no testing or vaccination requirements. Even if it's on the website (in fact, BECAUSE it's on the website), there's no excuse for their phone agents giving out incorrect information.
It's a nice ship...easy to get around. Nothing is too far away. It's showing its age in some ways. Windows that need replacing, rust, elevator buttons in need of repair. Nothing major though.
