  1. Signage at Port Everglades is really poor for parking. Drove into two roadways with backed up cars waiting to dropoff and pickup passengers. Did not know there is a third entrance to surface parking. We just added to the congestion waiting in lines of cars that we did not need to. Map Ret MP posted is a great help.
  2. Serenade outside of WJ from Tampa maybe? Unfortunately, our cruises late last year on her had many signs where you could not sit.
  3. Ships were under capacity then. Now you need to do it before you board the ship in the terminal if possible. We waited until onboard in May and comedy shows were almost fully booked. Our last cruise in August we did it in the terminal. They are not verifying check-in times like they should. At least in Fort Lauderdale they don't. ...They did in Tampa and give them credit.
  4. A trick is to try to get ship wifi in the terminal. You may need to walk closer towards the ship in the terminal, but it is worth a try. Book the comedy show first on Oasis class! Very limited seating. Liked it in the past where you could book before boarding, but it is a frenzy now to do it at the last minute. Plus many cruisers disregard their check-in time and will get first dibs to book when checking in before their assigned time.
  5. My take. Moved to Florida in my late 20's. Older folks here just seemed obsessed with eating around 5 PM was my main observation moving here. Many trying to save a buck or two on early bird specials at restaurants. I get it if you have younger children and want to dine earlier on a ship because of that. We are now in our middle 50's and have always booked late traditional dining. We were on Allure for 20 nights since May and no complaints about a delay when food was brought out to us. Great service for us! Just thinking that maybe more folks should consider the late traditional dining option. You will not starve to death. Many options to get a snack before late seating.
  6. Going all in on Grandeur in November! Doing first sailing from Miami for 9 nights and recently added a 5 night sailing for a b2b. Last leg found one of the newer 16 cabins added during 2013. The ones on deck 7 and 8 with the larger cabins and windows. First leg assigned to the smaller and 'comfy' outsides that are common on Vision class ships. Did Allure for 20 nights since May, but I still love the smaller ships where you really can connect easily with passengers and crew. The windows in the public areas is a bonus over Oasis class. Schooner bar without windows on Oasis class is a real downer for me. Been on Rhapsody 3 times in the past, so we know what to expect. We liked the smaller Empress also. Just feel the need to cruise on these smaller ships while they are still around. Only bad thing to me about Vision class is that the balconies are so expensive compared to newer classes of ships.
  7. Just booked Serenade in Sept 2023 from Tampa. Going on Allure next week. Thinking we would be better off cancelling and rebooking onboard Allure as it looks we would save $200 on our 12 night sailing. Booked Serenade at the higher refundable rate. See something about booking more than 12 months out on Next Cruise and it is confusing to me. Terms say something about waiting 2 months if you book further out than 12 months. Anyone book a cruise over 12 months out on Next Cruise and can clarify?
