  1. We sailed on the Horizon August 1st. In Amber Cover my wife took my 12 year old on a Bubble tour while I took my older daughter and her friend on another excursion. My wife and 12 year old had a great time. It was Monkeyland excursion I believe. I'm Not sure if it would have to be an immedaite family member who woukd have to accompany your 11 year old.

We have a cruise coming up and will need to book bubble excursions, however, I’m worried they will book up before I can get on board and use our OBC to pay for them.
Has anyone booked an excursion from home and then once on board, gone to the excursions desk and cancelled their excursions and rebooked it using OBC?

I never thought of that, what a great idea, since we are sailing on the Panorama next July with $1900 in OBC.  Can this be done?

  3. My 12 year sailed under an exemption on the Horizon 8/1 and did a bubble tour in Amber Cove and enjoyed it.  Don't wait too Long to book as they are sold on a first come first serve basis to anyone. Because of this we got locked out of an excursion in Bikini and she couldnt leave the ship.

If you choose to cruise during an epidemic where things can change at any time, those are the chances that you take.  I am sure that somewhere in the cruise documentation that you received, the cruise line must have made you aware of this.  Sorry for the problem but this will be occurring on all the cruise lines at this time.

Thanks for your wisdom Don, not everything was stated in those doc's you refer to. But thanks again, lol.

This is good information to know. Might have to plan some things out and leave pools for possible closures of other things on port days.

Definitely have some thinking to do... Thank you.

Sorry, for the typos in last response i sent you but I think you figured it out. I just asked my wife about Amber Cove and she couldn't remember what was open when they returned, but they did the monkey land bubble excursion and didn't get back to the ship until 1pm. I hope this helps.

This is the first I have heard of everything being shut down in port... I have seen others say that pools, waterworks, etc. were staying open. That is one of the only reasons I applied for an exemption rather than pushing it further off.

All ports? One time on the cruise? Please share more info on this.

Yes, it only happened in Bikini amd it caused a slight up roar at customer service desk with those that had exemptions. They said water park woukd be open and it didn't ooen until 3pm. The pools were open, but no arcade, no ropes course and no sky ride. To be blunt my wife was pissed because there was basically nothing for my 1w year okd to do. We were off the ship at beach all day in Half Moon Cay and my 12 year old did a bubble tour in Amber Cove while I ziplined with my other daughter.

  7. Just to add to what was just said another thing to consider is, what will be open on the ship when its in port. This was an issue for us in Bimini. My 12 year old who was sailing on an exemption was not able to get off ship in Bimini because all bubble tours (2) were Sold out (Anyone can go on a bubble tour). Everything was closed on the ship that a kid would entertain themselves on, arcade, ropes course, skyride and water park. So that's something to consider.

  8. My wife took my younger daughter to the monkey excursion in AC while I took my other daughter and her friend ziplining on 8/1 Horizon sailing. Keep your eyes open for when they are posted because they are limited and sell out faster. The ridiculous thing about them is that they are open to anyone not just people on exemptions. Meaning you could be sailing on an exemption and not be able to book it. We complained about that one on our trip and in our survey. Bubbles tours should only be open to those on exemptions IMO. Good luck.

  9. We do care about who's the CD when we sail. Always enjoyed having having Matt Mitchem as a CD. He was friendly, engaging and full of energy throughout the week. As far as Donkey goes he wasn't bad at all, we've had worse, much worse. Things are just restarting and I'm sure it takes a while to get into a rhythm again. Overall CD's have a responsibility of trying to enhance the our cruises, some are better than others.  So whether you care or not, Pay attention to them or not, they do their best to try and get information out and make things fun when they have to.

Ya all know they had to shut down the aft pool on the Horizon during the July 24th sailing, drain it, clean it, retreat it, all because of fecal matter.....would rather not swim with this stuff either so please curb to slide area.....

Same thing happened on the 8/1 sailing on the Horizon. It was down for 24 hours at least.

  11. We were on the Horizon 8/1. We debating getting off the ship in Bimini but decided that morning to do so. Went to customer service desk and grabbed the $39.00 excursion tickets to Resort World. Took the Tram got dropped off one stop further than the entrance we were supposed to go in and cut across the sand. Yes, we were stopped for no wrist bands but security pointed us in the right direction and we got our bands. The beach was nice and the water was great. Drinks are over priced like the small food selection but it's vacation so who cares. My girls enjoyed the hammocks near the pool which we also had access to. They did see a stingray which was cool, but no jellyfish as someone mentioned. Would we ever get off there again? Not sure. Have a nice cruise.

  12. Just got off same cruise. It was nice, rarely were masks worn that I saw but they did what they had to do and could do as far as keeping kids out of Circle C who were sailing on an exemption or had to wear a mask in the arcade. My daughter was on an exemption with her first shot done, but we made the decession to hold off on second as she could have gotten it the morning we sailed. She did not wear a mask, except for arcade or ports but even as much as Bimini was said to be mandatory no one had them on at our excursion once at the pool/beach area. Mask were encourage for unvaxxed but not mandatory. The only way you'd know someone was on an exemption was the hole punch on their sail and sign card was bigger. I do feel bad for anyone sailing today and inbthe near future as mask are going to be required all the time. We were fortunate to have sailed when we did. Crew was great and had their stuff together.

  13. We sail 8/1 and we didn't get notified until last Wednesday 7/21 for our now 12 year old daughter. She's in a strange gray area, she turned 12 on 7/10, got her first shot on 7/10 and we are getting her second shot in Miami this Saturday, but we still needed exemption because she didn't have the 14 day waiting period after second shot. So I feel lucky that we got it.

  14. Just got the call from my PVP that our July 17th Horizon cruise is still on. Not sure what transpired today, but she told me she'd call me as soon as she had answers and she did. Now the sad part is after 4 previously canceled cruises and lots of waiting, like all of you, I may have to cancel due to daughters athletic schedule or try to move it to August if even possible. So sad but great news overall.
