So here is a way to break it down and decide if it is worth it to you. You are traveling with 2 kids under 6, so they don't get the key, meaning your cost is for 2 people. So questions to ask yourself:

    1) Do you need internet and what is that going to cost?

    2) Will you enjoy the lunch and breakfast for Key guests?

    3) Do you have tendered ports?

    4) Will you use the priority seating at shows and will you use the special times for Key guests for other amenities?

Then look at what each of those things is worth. With young kids dropping bags and getting priority for tenders (if you have tendered ports) would be great but it might also make sense to grab lunch and then go to the port later and walk straight to your room. I have done this with my family because they wanted to hit a tourist spot for lunch and we got in late the night before and the crowds onboard previously made lunch onboard harder when they were young.

For me to get the Key for our upcoming trip it would be for 4 because even though we have 2 rooms, the teens would lose it if we went to that lunch without them. So for us I put the value of that lunch and breakfast at about $40 per person. We have no tenders but the other perks I value at $10 per person. So cost of Key - (cost of internet + $50). If the Key is cheaper we will get it. If not it isn't necessary. Our upcoming trip I booked a specialty restaurant for lunch on day 1 and internet for way less than what the Key is .

Where do key members have breakfast?  Is that also in a specialty restaurant?

Can't make guarantees since you already sent to there system directly. You probably are already assigned. The system itself doesn't send confirmation. It's not necessary, but she always does. Give it a shot.

Great and thanks!   I'll give it a try.

I just received a confirmation email for my table request in the same screen shot computer format as above. Has all my details on it like the above example does. So they still do it.

We still did not receive anything from RCL dining to show a table number.  Did you send to the same person?  Can you forward the e-mail address?  Thanks.

No, only in Coastal Kitchen, and the lounge/bar area.  If indeed you are dining in Coastal kitchen at a table...lunch, dinner...or even breakfast....it is complimentary and can be served at your table.  Just ask your waiter, sit back and enjoy!  🙂

    Thanks much!

Your comment to me, quoting me directly was a bit confusing, and felt like finger pointing to me.  Perhaps would have been better as a separate comment stating the obvious?

The gist of the conversation on this thread was being (as the thread title shows) in a GS and getting charged for drinks on C&A vouchers during stated SL happy hour complimentary drinks.  Which is not right, and has happened to me most of the time.  Yes, you can be wrongly charged on your C&A vouchers when you (as I am) are a suite's guest.  Please go back and read the rest of this thread.  I was helping out with answers to several of the other posters.

Also, just to inform you as to your other comment.  Yes, as suite guests we can have the complimentary happy hour drinks served during the 5-8 time frame during dinner...at our table.

We have enjoyed that many times.  I was reassuring the poster that I was quoting that they could have that.  But you wanted written proof.  I suggest you consult the SL concierge letter and/or confirm that with the staff in CK.

Just in Coastal Kitchen or can you have the happy hour drinks at your table in the MDR as well?

I stayed there in 2012 when it was the Conrad (hilton property) while condo shopping in the area but we have had friends that have stayed there while visiting us.  The rooms still looked great when we went to see them.  Haven't been in the hotel since it changed hands but have had a drink at the bar upstairs, outside on the balcony.

Some of the units were condos, some the hotel.  There is a bank at the bottom of the building.

As I said, it's a great location. You will have so much within walking distance and it's a quick ride to the port which you may still be able to see from the bar balcony.

    Thanks again for the information!

You are right.  Midnight Friday and Saturday and 10 pm Sunday.

The worst year was when they held it over at the Marine stadium on Key Biscayne.  Speakers were all pointed at Brickell.  Between that and the lights, it was a long weekend.

I have friends that go every year and I still don't get it!

Forgot to ask.  Have you ever stayed at AKA Brickell?  If so, how was it?

One key difference if it matters to you - it matters to my wife especially on a long vacation - penthouses only have showers while all other suites above F1 have tubs and showers.

The only difference that matters to me is that the penthouse showers do not seem to have a shower line.  Some have said it is only in the tubs.   Where do you hang wet bathing suits?  We've only been on Mariner and loved the showers.  They had a bench and shower line and bars to grab onto.

Our experience with the penthouse suites on Splendor (Dec/Jan 2023/24) is that they are not laid out as nicely as the Superior/Concierge suites (Dec 2022). That wall between the bedroom and the living room breaks up the flow and makes for narrow spaces. Plus there aren't as many usable drawers -- the bedside ones are very shallow and there aren't as many available in the living area -- and there are only shelves next to one of the sinks in the bathroom.

Keep in mind that many fewer people use the guest laundry now that Regent provides laundry services to all.

I can't help you there, but given my experience with the two types of suites, I'd stay with the concierge suite.

I wonder if Grandeur is the same way with the drawer space since supposedly they are sister ships.

You may just hear some base depending on which way your room faces but that will end by 11 pm.    If you have ever seen the Bad Boys movies, this is the building that they use as the police headquarters!  They actually were just there two weeks ago filming Bad Boys 4 in front of the building and in the area again.

The lobby is up on the 6th floor in case the website doesn't tell you.

Great location and lots of great restaurants in the area.

Thanks for the info - especially regarding the lobby.  I believe our room is facing the bay.

Smart move, you would have been able to hear the music.  We lived on Brickell Ave and could hear it.  Some of the offices in the area will close early on Friday due to it. It's an interesting weekend in the area.

Hope you found some place great to stay and enjoy your time in the area.

We found the AKA Brickell to stay.  I hope we don't hear music all night.  Not sure how close to the music fest this is.

It's Ultra Music Fest this weekend so expect some mayhem, lots of noise, interesting people watching and some street closures.

Miami Police put out this statement about getting to the Port.

"Access to Port Miami will always remain open on NE 5 street.  However, as a recommendation please utilize the Port of Miami Tunnel, which can be accessed fro I-395"

We found out about this when we wanted to book a pre cruise hotel at the Intercontinental.  I was told that the road to the hotel would be closed and the police would have to let taxis, etc. through to get there.  Also on the night of 24 March there is music all afternoon at the pool area and at night right in the hotel lobby from 10PM until 3AM.  Therefore we did not book the Intercontinental.

  13. Thanks.  I hope they can bring it back to both ships.  The casino on Symphony was always fun.  I've never been on Serenity but hope to go later this year.

I think that valet laundry service is no longer returned same day. Not sure what the turn around time is these days…..

Also, I’m not impressed with the Regent aluminum water bottles; they are not insulated and sweat if you put cold drinks in it. Loses its chill quickly.

    I love Regent!

On the Mariner the laundry came back by the end of the day if you had it ready before 9 AM.  Agree with you regarding those water bottles.

    Hi, we haven’t cruised in awhile and I forget if we need to worry about noise from the deck below us or just the deck above. I know it’s a dumb question but I would like to know. The restaurants are below our deck but all cabins above us. TIA. This is with Celebrity Silhouette;

We were on the Silhouette a few years ago on that deck and I believe we were above a galley area behind the martini bar.  There was noise all night long from crew working after hours.  We stayed until the second night and it was the same noise.  They moved us to deck 7 and what a difference.  We finally got some good sleep.   I would never be above or below a bar or restaurant area again.

Others advice to have cabins above and below is right on.

We were going to stay there also but found out there is the utlra music festival which is going to be right in the hotel lobby from 10PM until 3AM and that the steet would be closed off.   I don't know when you're staying but the festival is from 22-24 March weekend.

I meant to add that the music in the lobby is on the last night of the festival.

We stayed at the AKA Brickell in Jan 2023, and they were still working on it. It was kind of a mess. Also the transport to the ship was disorganized and late. We’ve sworn off Regent hotels and transport for now. We’ll take any credit and book our own, or book a lower category. We did the latter on our next two cruises.

Were they doing a renovation?   All the reviews on trip advisor are mostlly good.  Of course I know not to depend on reviews but I did book based on the fact that I didn't see any negatives.
