We're going to be in a sky suite.  I'm going to ignore this email and maybe in the fall or next spring, I'll get the "real" request for preferences.

Just FY, the last two cruises where we were contacted regarding preferences were filled out by us but none of our requests were there when we boarded.   Both the cabin attendant and the butler noted what we wanted after boarding but had not received any requests from shoreside prior to our cruise.

My husband once lost a crown on a Celebrity cruise. He was in some pain, but he didn't have swelling or a fever. There wasn't a dentist onboard but he could have gotten a pain killer from medical, instead he decided to use the Tylenol we carried with us. At the next port, I spend most of my day hunting down a drugstore that carried the temporary glue for a crown.

Not sure why but Advil seems to work on tooth pain.  I've used it after an implant and it worked like a charm.

Thank you all for your input.   The excursions in question include a few of the Cinque Terre villages (walking within them, which I expect to be hilly, but not walking between them), Nice and Eze, Florence from Livorno, and Pompeii.   The descriptions mentioned walking distances of 1 - 3 miles, which isn't strenuous to me.

On vacations last year in Ireland and London, I walked up to 11 miles a day sightseeing, so it appears I will be fine - with appropriate shoes, definitely.  Thankfully, I didn't see an upper age limit on any of the excursions.

Pompeii was the only one we thought was difficult.  There were people on our bus who were not allowed to walk with the group because they had canes or were in wheelchairs.   I agreed with that once we started walking over uneven cobblestone (I believe there were cobblestones) rocks for quite a ways.    Once they mentioned we should climb the Mt.  I said no way after that.

BTW I've never had any  trouble hiking or climbing in the past so unless something has changed this was a few years ago (2013).

    Hope this helps.

This is our first cruise since the Retreat Sundeck was introduced.  We are sailing on the summit.

In the past, we often found ourselves lounging on the top front deck.  It was always a quieter location, I could often find shade, and it seemed less crowded.  We are not in a suite this cruise, so I was wondering if the other areas seem more crowded and how hard it will be to find a lounge chair.

Just wondering how early we will need to be on deck to get a chair.

No worries based on our previous experience on Summit.   Hard to find shade up there and at times very windy.  We were just on in May and the most we saw up there were a handful of people.

The most offensive item that you mentioned is the staff comment that the Hotel Director "doesn't speak to guests."  If that's really true, then it reflects poorly on RCI that executives wall themselves off from those that keep them in business-- especially given your loyalty as D+

Yes that is not true.  We just got off Adventure and had an issue in our suite.  We went down to guest services and asked to have the hotel director call us.  He came to our cabin, along with the chief housekeeper and assistant housekeeper and also the gues services manager.

Sorry to hear.   I understand they have sea sick pills at guest service.   If you want a more natural remedy  - Ginger is suppose to help (ginger ale also seems to work).  I believe they still sell that pressure point bands in the gift shops.

Or green apples.   Also saltines seem to help some people.   They had both at the front desk on Azamara when seas were rough.

I always have those sea bands with me.😤

I have not been given any notification yet.  I already completed Arrivecan.  My wife is going to the room right now.  If there’s a notification, she will tell me, though i forgot two days is tomorrow, not today.  I’ve already forgotten what day it is.

Thanks.   We're testing tomorrow also.   Hope all goes well and glad to see you're having a good time.

I talked to guest services.  They will take care of all requirements for Canada they say, it including the required testing.  They said tomorrow.  I was worried because check in was checked out and I had not completed that portion of it.  They said that will be taken care of at the same time.

Masks are in rooms, but i do not believe i saw sanitizer.

Did they test today?  We received an e-mail today from Royal remining us we still needed to fill out the ArrCan.

We are also on the 9/29 cruise.  I would expect clarification from RCCL soon if we need to test. No sense calling, no one will know until the  website is updated.  You could change your test date into Wednesday to buy time

Someone on the B2B on the ship now is being tested today for the second leg (Canada).   He said we still need to test and be vaccinated because our cruise is 29 Sep.   They told him on board it didn't matter that we don't get there until 4 Oct because it's not for cruises before 1 Oct.   Not happy either about it but we just got an e-mail from Royal this morning reminding us we need to fill out ArrCan.

A friend of mine just came back from Bermuda on Mariner last weekend.  She said the Bermudan's were more blase about hurricanes than Floridians.  (And she is one).  Except they've got the experience and the money to back it up.  I remember when they took a direct hit from Humberto, a Cat 3 and was up and running in 2 days.  When i say direct hit, the eye went over the northern part of the island.  Here, Fiona was a 100 miles off short, so i would say its not as bad as Humberto.

Bon Voyage!  Hope you have a great time.

When we were on the May sailing to Bermuda, reps were onboard to make sure you were approved, as the regs had changed the day before our sailing the test results did not have to be uploaded after our sailing. Mass confusion, but as long as one had submitted an application for the TA, boarding was permitted. Hardly reasonable that one should have to pay for internet access onboard to get these things. On our sailing, it was mainly older folks who did not want/need internet.

Yes the same happened on our May sailing to Bermuda.  Some people were told to board and they would contact them on board.  There were Bermuda reps at the port to help people get the approval but some of them didn't know that.  Not sure why the agents at the port didn't tell them where to go when they didn't have their approvals.   This was when we had to wait for the approval after getting the test 2 days prior.   After our cruise they dropped the requirement to load the test!  Just our luck.   Seems like the same may happen with ArrCanada if things change after 30 Sep.

Hopefully you have internet access.  You'll be on the ship when they email it to you more or less and it might be difficult for you to reach out to Bermuda if it doesn't come.

We should have internet access on board.  Hopefully we'll get it before we leave.  Some folks said they e-mailed or called Bermuda and got the approval right away.

I applied for the approvals about a month ago, and I got them last Monday on the 12th.  The webpage says they send it out a week before your sail date, so i got it early.

Thanks.  We're on your second cruise.   Test on Tuesday.  Will be tested on board for Bermuda.  No TA yet which we sent 30 days out.

Our TA is giving us a big OBC for our sailing in Oct.  Most everything we are doing is already paid for .  If we have OBC left over at the end of the cruise, can we get it placed on our Credit card?  Or, can we gamble with the OBC?  If we can, how  do we go about doing that?  (Can you tell we aren't big gamblers? LOL)

We've had refundable OBC placed on the credit card.   Also I've used OBC in the casino.   The staff in the casino window can explain to you how to use it.

I did ready a lot of posts regarding the Bermuda Authorisation forms, but did not find my answers.

    1.  Do I need to do the form separately for myself and then one for my husband, or can you put more than one person when applying?

    2.  Can I use the same email address for my husband that I use for me?

I used my husbands e-mail address when I filled out my form.  This way we would have both approvals on the phone if required.  We also print out our approvals to take to the port.   Hope this helps.

Our waiter, Andy, on this cruise has been with Celebrity for 23 years.   We have often reminisced about the Good Old Days.    Remember the display tray of deserts?

Yes I do!   Also how they used to come to the table with after dinner cocktails.  One night the waiter came and made us an Irish whiskey, heating with flame and all.  Very impressive.

I didn't care for the baked Alaska either.  Miss the days of the parade and how they made it back then.
