  1. According to the Funville Forums, someone called the OPC and found out that 1 point = $2.50 played in the slots and 1 point = $5 played in video poker, so you'd have to spend about $2500 in slot play (house money, your money, whatever) in order to meet the 10000 point requirement to be enrolled in OPC, which has to happen before you start receiving offers. IMHO, since I shudder at the thought of putting that much at risk, I'd rather buy my own drinks and cruise - because those "free" drinks = $3750 in play.

Exactly, There is no such thing as a free lunch. You are paying for those so called free drinks. For the life of me I can not see how people think they are getting free drinks but on the other hand it is their money so if that's what how people want to spend it ,just go for it.

  2. If you don't get your cabin assignment until you check in, does that mean you drag your suitcases with you to the check in counter?

It usually says to be announced(TBA) on your boarding pass ,so when you get the cruise dock for your ship talk to a porter they have a list of names along with assigned cabin find your name and your cabin now for the baggage tags I would write my name and cabin # on the tags provided by the porter. This is the way it was done when I had a TBA. I would call Carnival and ask them what the procedure is for the TBA assignment. Have Fun!!!!!!

  3. Interestingly, according to the Carnival website, flights arriving until 2:30pm fall within their guidelines. I'd tell the OP to go for it! There's should be absolutely NO problems!

(Seriously, come in the day before the cruise). As bugeater said, you should know better by now. :)

I agree with the above post there should be not problem .If you are landing at FLL take SAS transportation to POM there're fast and you should be on the ship by 3:00

  4. I just booked an ES for October 26 on the Conquest, my VP said it is best to book ES for a cruise date because when the ES are cut off the promotions start but since you have ES you are price protected so if a better price comes along you can get it and maybe a upgrade also if the price is lower that the ES.

  5. I booked the Freedom 4/18/15 right before it changed. The Conquest is taking the same 8 day itinerary from Fort Lauderdale to southern Caribbean/Aruba. Bookings are closed til they get the reserved bookings transferred. Mine should he straightened out in a week.

An eight day cruise is great been on several however, since I cruise solo most of the time and when the ships gets the 2.0 upgrade the price sky rockets just for than one extra day. I'll have to see what the cruise rate is for the Conquest before I book.

  6. I've left out of port of Lauderdale several times on the Freedom , the port is about 15 minutes from FLL airport. The conquest is a great ship. If you have self assist debarkation and the ship docks on time you can be at the airport by 8:00 am plenty of time to catch a 10:00 flight.

  7. I was at my granddaughters baseball game last summer and there were 4 teenage girls in front of me spitting sunflower seeds on each other. I told them then had to clean up the mess before they left. Within 5 minutes they all got up and walked away. What is the fasination with spitting on each other? I know we did some crazy things as teenagers but we never did anything to disrespect a human being.

I live in Ct and once a month we have a block watch meeting ,the officer in charge said the one thing he has noticed is the lack of respect the kids have. When I was going up I was taught to respect others like I would want them to respect me. To me that makes sense.

  8. Unfortunately it is getting to the point that no matter when you cruise there will be kids. Our January cruise on the Magic had so many unruly kids that I was shocked. I asked several of them if they were in school and not one said they were on break. As long as parents keep taking their kids out of school to cruise year round there will be no "less kids" time of the year. I also vented to Carnival and got absolutely no response. I have found that by flying to a distant port or taking a longer cruise the number of children is greatly reduced. I am done cruising out of Galveston.

That is amazing the number of parents that will take there kids out of school for a cruise. IF I asked my parents to take me out of school for a cruise they would still be laughing!!!!

  9. We had a 12 pm flight when we sailed the Liberty and self debarked. We were to FLL so early we couldn't check our luggage. You will have PLENTY of time. Seriously. Unless something unforeseen goes wrong. Which you can not predict, you will be fine.

I just got off the Liberty with self debark I was off the ship by 7:00 am and in the FLL airport by 8:30 am, I could have made the 10:30 am flight to CT but left at 11:45.

  10. You think Spring Break is bad......Never, ever cruise during Holy Week. Never in my life have I been on a ship (or anywhere else) where there were so many rude, disrespectful, children. And No adult supervision. I have vented to Carnival by both an e-mail and the survey sent post cruise. We were told there was over 1000 kids on this cruise. I will continue to cruise Carnival but will be mindful of the time of year we book. This was on the Carnival Magic out of Galveston.

That is one week I will not cruise. I was on the Liberty April 5,14 and there where lots of kids (teens)on that sailing actually more than expected but I still had a great time!!!. I guess it is live and learn.

  11. We are looking forward to Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay.

That said, I think that takes care of every Caribbean port that Carnival stops at, and that we are interested in.

We will switch to Celebrity or RCCL where we can go to ports such as Dominica, Martinique, Grenada, Tortola, St. Croix .... just to name a few.

Too bad Carnival won't go to those places. I purposely didn't book another Carnival cruise because it stopped in Nasau, San Juan and St. Thomas. So tired of stopping there!

You are right I've been to every port CCL offers in the Western and Eastern Caribbean , if they do not add different ports the bookings may drop. I've been to St. Thomas and Grand Cayman so many times I should own the Islands.

  12. I see. Thanks. I'll just keep checking.

I would like to sail on the Breeze also but the single rate is a wallet buster!. About 1600.00 bucks in March or April when I like to cruise. I wish you luck because I do not think the single supplement to change soon it is too new of a ship. Hope I'm wrong.

  13. If you both are cocktail or wine drinkers and consume more than 6ish each per day then it's a break even situation for you. If you are more beer drinkers then I would say no not worth it.

I agree with you. I just got off the Liberty last week. I had a rum drink from the lido deck bar it was a 10.00 dollar drink and it was weak and I did complain. If you are paying 10.00 dollars for a drink it should give you a kick. If you stick to beer that is a lot of beer to break even on the cheers program but at least you know what your getting.

  14. I don't think I've ever seen a website like that. But as a general rule, Carnival sails almost full every week. I can't even tell you the last cruise that I was on that the "no cabins available" sign wasn't on the Guest Services desk at embarkation.

I have seen those signs at the Guest services desk . Cruise lines will get rid of all the cabins before they sail besides they do not make their revue from the sold cabins they make the $$$$ when guests get on the ship be selling alcohol, excursions, etc. Believe me your cruise will go out full.

  15. I have read a lot of reviews and quite a large number of them have complained about the food served on all ships. I can say myself the last cruise I went on the food was not so good. It was not horrible like some people have said but on my other Carnival cruises the food was much better.Since so many people are complaining about the food why doesn't Carnival do something about it. That is my only real complain. I really like Carnival and can say I have never had a bad cruise with them.

I agree with you the food on all Carnival ships taste pretty good. The only thing I can say about any food at the buffet is that if because of medical condition you are on a sodium restricted diet keep away from buffet food your ankles and hands may blow up like balloon. Besides the added sodium I have no problems with CCL food.
