  1. Don't worry.  Your needs and wishes will be taken care of.  The shoreside concierge sends out a form email initially and then a little closer to the cruise you will get a more personalized email.  Between the 2 email, we send a personalized letter listing our preferred dining venues and times we would like to dine.  Also, in the letter are our in-room preferences.  We make a copy (or 2) of the letter and bring it on board--giving 1 to the butler and keeping the other for ourselves.  We ask the on-shore concierge to reply to the letter as receipt confirmation.

Your cruise is very special, but bear in mind that you aren't the only guests that the on-shore concierge needs to work with.  All will be sorted in the end.  Have a wonderful time and enjoy!!☺️

What is the cost for Lawn Club Grill per adult on Silhouette?

Children cost - Is it $10 for children, or a $10 discount from adult price?  The verbiage in the advertising is clunky https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/15047719_CEL_Children_Specialty_Dining_Flyer.pdf

Is Sunset Bar accessible from same deck as the Restaurant? Or, alternatively, is there a bar/Elite Happy Hour at Lawn Club?

Finally, for those that have been to Lawn Club Grill, did you find it was worth it or is it underwhelming?  It will be a winter sailing so concerned about outdoor seating/temps...although I am not pre-booking so I can decide that part onboard.

In regards to outdoor seating / temps, the restaurant does have roll-down/up plastic windows/walls so if it's windy they will put them down.  They also will provide blankets if it gets too chilly.  If the weather is very inclement then the venue will be closed.  The views aren't of the water, unless you stand up.  Basically, you see the lawn (hence, the name) and the movie screen.

I am aware that many just "love" the restaurant and menu--especially the lamb chops and chocolate cookie with ice cream.

    Thursday -  Klawock

I'm up way too early today.   Got a call from my Son at 7:00 AM.   My ex-wife's husband had to be rushed to the hospital last night.   My Son has been living with her husband, taking care of him after she passed last year.   They live in a small town of Hollister, about 1 hour south of San Jose.    They transported him to the major trauma center overnight.   The hospital just called  to advise if he wanted to see his step-father he should get to the hospital ASAP.  Doesn't look good for him.

I feel so sad for him as so much is crashing down on him.   My gradaugher had a seizure 2 weeks ago and they believe she has encephalitis.   She has lost the ability to talk and been on meds for the past two weeks.    Coincidentally she had an appointment at the same hospital today.

Don't mind me, I'm just rambling because I don't know what else I can do to help him out except send virtual hugs.

So sorry to hear of the news for you.  Hoping that everything works out for the best.

  4. I have tried, repeatedly, over the years to find a TA who was reliable and trustworthy but have come up with a big bag of nothing.  All those I have contacted have not returned calls, were not knowledgeable to my needs and just, plain didn't seem to care.  I am amazed at how many have  a good relationship with a TA.  I have gone to expos and checked out YouTube videos thinking I might find a good one there.  I have also contacted luxury TA sites and local companies that claim to specialize in cruises.  Since CC doesn't permit names to be mentioned, I am at a loss.  I have very few friends in my area who travel the way I do.:classic_sad:

I have found it, in the long run, to be less stressful if I call Celebrity directly after researching what I like, or meeting with Future Cruises while on board.  I then transfer to the Big Box Store (Costco) where I will get a very generous shop card credit.  Occasionally, there will be a group OBC offered, as well.

In closing, I would love to have a great TA (not just a good one) who can do all of this for me but, at this point I am jaded as to the past experiences I have had.

A few dinner pics (I keep forgetting to take them) and a note on our butler.

He is here, I messaged him with a request (to inquire as to getting into Blu). He insisted on meeting us in person. He was very handsome and gracious, but not particularly helpful.

Regarding Blu, he first encouraged us to try Luminae, but said we could stop by Blu and ask. lol.

I asked if I could have a latte delivered in the morning, and he suggested I order morning room service. lol again.

Thanks for taking us along.  Have a wonderful trip.  A few questions:

    1. being that it's September, are there children on board?

    2. what is the name of your butler?

We also on one occasion opted for an Indian buffet as well delivered ‘family style’…As you say not over demanding. Certainly not needing the critical timing that steaks might…It tends to be our personal belief that (land or sea) if we opt for room service we opt for tolerant food!

I echo Chemmo and DCBiker97 regarding meals in the suites.  Per Chemmo's sage😉 advice years ago, I have a printout of our requests (that had been given to the on-shore concierge prior to the cruise) which I give to the butler and stateroom attendant.  It lists the days and times of the restaurants we would like to go to and also our other preferences.  In addition, dependent upon the length of the cruise, we may opt for in-room dining at least 1 night and go over the menu with the butler.  Typically, we request an Indian dinner and ask the butler which night would work best for him/her/they.  Usually, the butler will ask that we have the dinner the same night that Taj is being offered so that he/she/they can just bring the food to us in the privacy of the suite.

We also have the last night's dinner in the suite--just pizza, salad and some brownies.   This way we can finish packing and unwind and enjoy the last night in our little haven on the sea.😁

  7. What a wonderful trip you are planning!  Happy Anniversary!!

So sorry to hear about the cancer diagnoses in the family.  Stay positive and upbeat as you are.

I have "terminal" cancer and I am still continuing to go forward.  Our next cruise is in November and we are looking forward to it.  In the meantime, I continue to journey with everyone who posts here so thank you for taking us along.  Hey, I even get a land tour thrown in as a bonus on this post😁

I order mine as a topping for a mixed green salad.  Don't need the bread and makes a great start for the Seared Branzino (mistakenly spelled as Bronzino on the menu) or as the surf side to go with the Grilled New York Steak Frites.

Do not expect an true New England lobster roll. As was mentioned earlier there is not an abundance of lobster in the last couple I had.

I ask for the Cobb Salad without the chicken/bacon and have them put the lobster on it.  Great choice of vegetables and no dressing needed b/c of the mayo.

    Hi CaroltheB

Hoping the B does not stand for what I think it may be. LOL

So if you've prepaid gratuities, or schedule them to be paid on account on a daily basis, you are covered in full for tips.

That said, since the crew is usually so good to us, and work so hard handling our every need and requests, we always give more. The amount is up to you. For example, There are times in the retreat lounge that I have tipped every time we are served, I have also tipped the retreat server on other cruises at the end rather then each time.

You are tipping for service and extras. If your waiter does extra for you or your assistant remembers your ice tea every time, in our mind, that is deserving of more.

If your Matre'd sets you up in a special way or your butler and room attendant have things fixed the way you have told them you like it, that is worth something,

We usually use the envelope system and thank them for their service with extra money on the last evening. It is always appreciated.

To conclude tipping an individual thing. Some would never tip while others tip the scale over. Most are somewhere in the middle.

In the end it is what you feel comfortable doing for others.

Smooth Sailing and enjoy your sky suite.

This is very similar to what we do.  In addition, we will sometimes, if the service has truly been above and beyond, will write a thank you note to the director/supervisor/officer in charge of the employee's department to go into his/her/their file.

Whatever you give, or don't give, should not impact the service you get.

    That makes

That makes absolutely no sense to me that they don’t have any now. I question the onshore concierge since they are not on the ship. This wouldn’t be the first time they offered up bogus information.
The ship offers all types of classes, some of which would utilize rollers as part of their exercise programs. They had at least 10 or so in February and people always used them.
Good luck and have a great cruise.

I know!!  They said that to me the last time and there were plenty of foam rollers aboard.  Hey, let this be the worst thing I have to deal with and I am so blessed😁  Hope your next cruise is great, too.

They had plenty of foam rollers on our February, 2024 cruise and I would imagine even after the drydock, which only some bikes were moved around, the rollers are still there.

I thought that was the case when I was on Constellation (also 2/2024).  However, the on-shore concierge told me that they don't have any now.  I just want to be absolutely (110%) sure before I reach out to her again to ask for one.  I really try to pack as lightly as possible and any room that I can save in the suitcase is premium.

    Thanks for replying.
