We were on her on her last sailing, and I so agree with the food and drinks comments. It was a fantastic cruise. Reflection is one amazing place to be.

I’ve been on 3 cruises the last 2 years and the speciality restaurants seems empty every night. Especially LCG and Sushi on 5 seems to be occupied by less than 10 people every night.
I think the MDR food is great and would not pay anything for a different meal. Also I’m always full on a ship so I doubt I could enjoy the menu to the full any way.

I think it’s new that they are now fingerprinting and taking photos of non-Americans. At least on previous cruises they didn’t do that.

I have always seen at least one line for non US citizens.
Are you saying that there was not even one non US Citizen line and you were forced to wait at the end of the US citizen line?
I either have a foggy memory or this was a significant change. As far as I recall I have always used slower non citizen lines in all non US counties.
On the other hand, I can understand that there might be a very large number of non US citizens using one or two non citizen stations.
I am sorry this happened to you. I can see that is not very welcoming. I felt the same way when I fly into New Zealand once.
We were not allowed to enter the luggage area before all Americans were cleared. So there was no access to any lane, whether US or non-US. So the issue was not that we had to go to a slower line, but that we were held in a corridor for hours before being allowed to proceed.

I’ve had three of these lunches. So nice to enter the ship and have a tasty relaxing lunch in the beautiful dining room.

I think this is due to the structure of the ship. If you look at the pictures of the ship these balconies are in certain areas of the shop and I guess a bigger pothole is not possible as the steel structure of the ship needs enough support.

Only people with tons of OBC is going to pay extra for that Italian style ice cream - the normal one is probably as good and free. I pay 1 euro for a scoop of Italian style ice cream at home, why spend tons on ice cream when you already paid for the food included?

Absolutely! I’m wearing jeans many nights and so are many of my fellow passengers. No shorts and no t-shirts and no baseball hats. That’s the only rules.

I think there were 3 or 4 ships in port so not the most busy time. There were not separate lines for anything just a port agent screaming out that Americans first others have to wait.

Hello. On Friday we arrived back to Florida after an 11 night cruise on the Reflection. While the cruise was truly flawless, I can’t say I’m too impressed by the arrival experience at terminal 18. Non-US passengers were held for hours in the corridors leading to the luggage area (right after the gangway) for hours until every US passenger was cleared. Luckily we left the ship as one of the last passengers so our total wait was “only” 2.5 hours. We were in our taxi slightly after noon. We were advised by the port agent that CBP did not receive information that the majority of this ship was non-US passengers. Additionally they now fingerprint and take photo of every visitor, which adds a lot of time, a year ago they mearly looked at our European passports.
We we had a hotel waiting for us in Fort Lauderdale but we saw a ton of Canadian passengers missing their flights.

We just paid 199 inc gratuities for a 11 day cruise on the reflection. Was worth it!

Too bad Celebrity doesn’t have a free ATM machine. Here in the Netherlands, and also in Norway, where I was born, checks have not been used in 20 years. ATM’s here are always free, though.

Hello all,
I am boarding the Reflection end of November for an 11-night cruise. As I have just completed my on-line check in process I have a question. When checking in, I was asked to provide photos of our party. I have uploaded the photos - are there any other change to the boarding process? There has been reports that RCL ships now have a new procedure where the key is waiting in your stateroom, rather than given at the check-in desk. If this is the case with Celebrity, how do we get drinks from our package or make other purchases before we have our Sea Passes?
So exited about my cruise! :)

Contact Celebrity! Their systems are awful unfortunately. I had to call them for each of my cruises to add the perks manually that should had been included in the booking.
-
No, but send your travel buddy to a bar to get the drink of your choice. Same thing, just no tipping required. :)

Amsterdam is the most security conscious airports we've ever been to. We had to show our documentation at at least four times by the time we got to the gate. The kicker, after finding the gate I went to one of the shops to buy a Coke and they wouldn't sell me one because I didn't have a boarding pass (I left it with my wife). I asked her how did she think I got this deep into the terminal without one, her comment was "rules are rules". No Coke for me.
Bording pass is required at shops to determine the tax. If you can’t show boarding pass or employee card they don’t know what tax percentage needs to be calculated.)

It will appear once you checkin . Just checked in ourselves and it says Status. Classic

That is your captains club status, not your beverage package. For our last two reservations we had to contact Celebrity to manually add the package into the reservation. It seems like it is not automatically done. It can be that you will be fine without adding the package to the order history, but if you want to upgrade your beverage package online - Celebrity has to add the package.

Writing a check in for real 2018 gives a real record of paying a bill and an actual paper trail. Very helpful when your account gets hacked and all you have is 'virtual bill pay'.
I do both methods of bill pay but have gone to paper checks much more in the past few years due to NOT paying anything over the very hack-able internet. It costs a stamp and a moment to write stuff on the bill. Far less time than time than on being on hold/on the phone with the credit card company after a hack.
And not for nothing, I'm neither old and none of my checks will bounce. ;););)
Very interesting point of view. I’m in Europe and I’m 32 and I have never seen a check and never heard about internet banking here being hacked. I pay all my bills online and never ever carry cash.

Well, it was the exact amount I had left from my $300 OBC. So that's a pretty big coincidence. I will ask my Roll Call if anyone else got back money.
The changed port fees are added to OBC onboard so it looked like it was your original OBC that was refunded however it was the port fees.

I think the WCB has the best cocktails on the ship. On Silhouette we were treated like royalty and it was a nice and relaxed place.
-
They had quite good bottled diet tonic in November! The regular tonic comes through the gun and was also quite OK.

Now that the price limit for premium package has been raised to $15 hopefully there is some good champagnes included. Celebrity advertizes with champagne when they sell the package so it should be included in my opinion.
-
I hope they are now including more drinks and not just increasing general drinks price. Would be cool if all cocktails of world class bar would be included. Call me cheap but I prefer everything to be included and will not purchase drinks not included in package.

Regarding Champagne, I think Thea have one brand called Mautadon or something like that included in the premium package. Thanks guys for the heads up on the increase. I upgraded today for the old price.
Why Tip at the Beginning of a Cruise?

I've always only tipped on the last evening in cash. Usually tips are included in our fare, so the cash is given to individuals that have given me outstanding service, like the stateroom attendant, dining team at the dining room and some bar tenders.
I am a very easy going person that is easy to please, but to love to try different things in terms of drinks etc. I have seen too many entitled people tip to expect something extra and without exception, I receive better service than the entitled tippers. Being easy going , respectful and understanding will take you far, in most situations!
