  1. There are cartons of milk and chocolate milk available at the breakfast buffet. They do tend to run out on longer cruises but there will still be pitchers available.

I was surprised to see no cartons on our Dawn Cruise to Bermuda in August, including the behind the scenes tour, with the guide saying it was cheaper to stock the large bags of milk, and thought it was fleet wide. But I guess it is by ship then.

  2. I could be mistaken, but I thought I saw something today during the Dolphins - Patriots game this afternoon to the effect of "text xxxxx to number xxx-xxx-xxxx for your chance to win tickets and accomodations" to the Super Bowl. The CBS broadcast had pictures or the ship with Bud light as the vessel's name

  3. I suppose if there was a noro outbreak. the op description would be accurate / correct, with a single line with the NCL staff "serving" food.

I've found it good practice to never say always or never.

  4. I cashed in NCL credit card points for Slot Play coupons and OBC in February for the Jewel and plan to do the same for December on the Breakaway. You can also purchase slot play and table chips on the NCL website under Gifts.

I would gladly also recommend the Slot Play Coupons website - $50 slot play for $25. Have used it several times and recommended it to many others - great deal, no issues!!

Thanks Margie, Hopefully the discounts will still be available after October 1st under the new BOA - NCL agreement.

  5. For a Western Caribbean home port it would make sense to use Tampa. It would be more fuel efficient then going around the tip of Florida and the keys to Miami. I hope you get a ship back in your home port though! Speculation is going again about Boston losing the Bermuda run but this happens every year...

Massachusetts Port Authority announced Wednesday (11/8/2007) that Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and the Government of Bermuda signed a 10-year agreement to continue cruises from Boston to Bermuda. The agreement calls for NCL to continue to be the exclusive cruise line to sail from Boston to Bermuda

  6. Interestingly, this evening I called and redeemed some points for OBC. During the conversation I was told that (a) The OBC could not be used for gratuities, and (b) once the transaction was complete it was non refundable. I'll be taking the cash back in the future, why chance it?

  7. Just returned from a great cruise on the Gem. Our $50 credit from redeeming points on our BOA credit card came through without any problem. It was listed as a World Points credit (rather than saying BOA). It was also not listed as non-refundable.

We did have some OBC that were clearly listed as non-refundable. We also received a letter in our cabin explaining that those credits (not the World Points) were non-refundable, so I can't imagine that anyone would be surprised on the last day! We do check our charges frequently during the cruise (on the TV) to make sure that nothing strange has happened (like the $14,000+ charge that appeared during a previous cruise - yes, it was a mistake and they cleared it before we had time to pick ourselves up off the floor and run to Guest Services).

    Thanks very much!

  8. Sorry if I missed an answer if it was posted earlier, but with the recent bro-ha-ha over "NCL OBC" (as opposed to TA OBC") is Bank of America (BOA) credit card point redemption "NCL OBC" and not to be used as OBC for daily service charged (DSC) or is it considered BOA OBC and can be used for the DSC?

    Thanks

  9. Murphy bed near the dinning table and I believe the couch pulls out into another bed.

Four in this room is no problem at all... :D

Thanks for the pictures and explanation of the bed situation. I couldn't wrap my head around how we could get 5 or 6 in this room (without hearing about the Murphy Bed)

  10. My question is:

What is the timing of redeeming OBC on the new program? I will not be traveling until Feb. 2013 and already have the 10,000+ points, can I redeem the $100 OBC now and keep applying additional 10,000 pt / $100 OBC as I get closing to the cruise OR can I wait until after final payment (get the double points) and then redeem all the points accumulated between now and then.

Also, must I redeem them through my TA or can I handle it myself with NCL? I booked throught an on line TA and I am not confident in their customer service.

By the way, you can now pay for excursions way in advance to get the double points.

Thanks very much for you help!
