In other good news, the BLT was put back on the Room Service menu per JH on FB.

At least they are adding the Tomato soup back on the brunch menu, so some people will be happy about that maybe. . .

Was the brownie with toffee sauce always on the menu? And there is a chocolate cake on there now, too. I think they did away with it for a while because I used to always order it at night and then stopped. I thought I stopped because it was taken off room service...I could be wrong on both of these things, though!

If you check in with guest services a few days prior to the end of the cruise, they may offer you and your luggage transportation on one of their golf carts between ships.
I will DEFINITELY do this. Thanks :)

Afternoon! I'm doing a side to side in January 2023. Celebration to Horizon. Anything I need to know or is it just business as usual at disembarkation/embarkation in between?
-
The port in Galveston gets foggy sometimes, so the ship has to wait until it clears before they will send a pilot boat out to bring it in. That causes delays with debarkation and embarkation. You can end up standing in a long line outside the port for an extended period of time before they open up the boarding process. We were in line so long, I ended up ordering Uber Eats for my son. They delivered it to me in line, LOL. It does not happen every sailing, but is a possibility. Mostly a Winter time issue, I think. Others who have sailed her more would know better than I. 🙂

I have been on both and prefer Horizon. Only because Vista has issues with fog occasionally. I happen to have been on this past NYE cruise where we didn't board until after 3 p.m. Honestly, if you can swing it, do the 8 day to the Southern Caribbean. It's amazing!

When is your cruise? You cannot check in until 14 days prior (16 days if Plat/Diamond).

Just to add to this, Carnival.com and my PVP both say a green card is sufficient. I was just wondering if the process is much different. I appreciate those who have cruised with one before sharing your experiences!

Thanks! Hopefully my friend's passport gets back before we cruise, but good to know the resident card will work okay!
-
Anyone have experience cruising with a permanent resident card and no passport?

I have used Uplift for many cruises and always see the OBC in my billing area. I do use a pvp...not sure if that makes a difference 😊

My PVP just booked my 12 year old and his 14 year old friend in a separate room. It is next door, but not adjoining. I imagine it is fine if the PVP suggested it.

That's a good rant 👍 If you by chance have the time, please ask the casino casher how many Plats and Diamonds are on board. Sounds like she has quite a few passengers aboard.
Will do tomorrow for you!

Just curious as the current Mardi capacity and actual passengers count - Carnival works out everything to book the most and revenue in these items.
Although previously committed to the CDC which seems to have gone to the wasteside.
They work the numbers and bookings to make the most recently from the recent news we've read.
The reason I ask, we are on the ship next week, and we've sailed several times the past year with limited restricted bookings. We will not cuisse a booking after March 1st 2022 until we have a better feeling, that's out option.
But what is the number onboard today???
Thank you for your help!
Someone on my Facebook group said the CD announced around 5200. Someone else on a different post who is not onboard said over 5500. I'm not sure which is correct. There are a lot of people on here. Some places seem crowded and some don't. 85% of people following mask protocols. 15% are not. One woman asked a man to put his mask on in the elevator and he called her the gestapo. So there is that. One guy decided to go maskless in the elevator and start beatboxing. Spit flying all over everyone. He thought it was funny to spray his bodily fluid on the people around him. People are ridiculous. We are done cruising until after the Summer once this sailing is over. I'm not worried about Covid. Just tired of entitled people acting like idiots. OK. Rant over.

Ugh!!
Curiously enough, there are always chairs available on Lido and all food lines move super quick. I did notice people complaining about wait times for dining room last night for first formal night. Mostly those who wanted to be in the main dining room as opposed to the other options.

Mardi Gras currently over 5200 sailing

I ate at Steakhouse last night and Rudi's tonight. They are comparable, so choose Rudi's if you prefer seafood and choose the Steakhouse if you prefer steak. I will say, Rudi's is more food for the price, but I prefer the Steakhouse because I love the filet and mashed potatoes.

Is Carnival still enforcing a Sip and Cover rule while drinking at the casino and comedy club?
Nope
