At my old job we had something called an angel tree. This was where employees who had financial issues could list things their kids wanted or needed for Christmas and another employee could grab the tag off of the tree and purchase the items for them.

I started out buying for a boy and a girl. But I had to walk by that tree every day and what bothered me was approaching the last day and still having tags on the tree. I started waiting until the last day and grabbing all remaining tags to make sure they got something. Maybe not everything but something.

My current workplace doesn’t have this program but the Salvation Army puts angel trees in the malls. After work I’m going by a mall to check the trees…If there are any tags left I’m going shopping.

    How awesome of you!

Thanks Radio for the great commentary and pics ! going on the dec 12th sailing and am chomping at the bit here 🙂   on the breakfast front...since im having breakfast...I heard the scrambled eggs were like soup at the windjammer. can you confirm if there was a station where you can get scrambled eggs done that were a bit more "solid". petty concern I know. That said, its the smaller points that add up. Thanks again good sir !

You can get fresh eggs cooked to order at the omelet station(s)

I have not cruised with Cory as CD but had the opportunity to meet him when he came aboard Grandeur to shadow John Blair.  He had just come from Carnival and was there to learn the ropes.  I found him to be very personable and outgoing so I have good expectations for him.

Agree, very nice and approachable guy. 2 days into our 9 nt Indy cruise last month is when he accepted the Allure CD job, so his replacement took over from that point on.

My suggestion for @sid_9169 is after this cruise end the lives but don’t end the reviews. I think he could do good just taking pictures and notes along the way. Then start posting them when he gets back. No pressure with internet or battery life. Use jamman as a model. Well not a model. Use his reviews as an example. Post everything over the course of a couple weeks after getting back.  That will give him something to look forward to between cruises. I think that might be a better fit rather than totally quitting.

    Totally agree with this 👍

Well I'm not even sure where the Carnival port is. I'm looking at near airport or near Space Needle for site seeing. Initially I was looking at the travel websites and flights were getting me in 8-11pm. With that I was going to fly in Sunday night, stay by the airport airport that night, then move downtown Monday morning and stay there Monday night. Now that I've been looking at individual airline websites, I see there are more options and I can get in 9-11am. With that I would look at staying downtown two nights. The question is what all to do in two days.

Theres also the Chihuly Garden & Glass Art Museum, which I have heard and read is awesome to check out. You wont have any problems finding enough things to do in Seattle. Was stationed outside of Seattle for 7 yrs and made many weekend trips there.

I recommend you read the blog Professor Cruise. Sara is a hilarious lady who quit teaching at a college to offer a "course" in cruising instead. She lives in Seattle right next to port and blogs mostly about Alaska: http://profcruise.com/

Love her blog! She is definately hilarious and full of lots of info! Another one I follow is Scott Singer (youtube), he has done quite a few Alaska cruises
