  1. You should call Canrival to verify, but I believe you will get it as another credit if you cancel again. We had to do this earlier in the year, and I am 90% sure that is what my PVP said. We shouldnt have to test it, as we leave on June 3rd for the cruise we moved it too...

    Hope that helps.

Thanks! I will call but that's what I was hoping to hear. I sure hope we don't have to cancel again either but after what happened before our spring cruise...you just never know.

  2. We had a cruise booked for March of this year but had to cancel due to a family illness. We cancelled before the final payment date and we now have a $50 pp credit to apply to future cruise. We now have a cruise booked for this October and have paid the deposit. We have not done the form to apply the credit yet. Question: once we do apply the credit, if we had to cancel again is that portion refundable? Would it go back into a future credit again or what? Thanks

  3. My kids also loved eating in the dining room. On our last cruise (Nov '15 on the Carnival Dream) my son was 5 and my daughter was 9 and they still remember and talk about our waiter (Guillermo). He was very good with our kids and kept them entertained the whole time. We have another cruise planned for this October and all my son wants to know is if Guillermo will be our waiter again.

  4. Our first cruise was out of Ft Lauderdale, week after Christmas, 2013...4 night to Cozumel. Weather was perfect, our day in Coz it was sunny and low - mid 80sWater at the beach was a tad bit cool but tolerable to swim in. The pools on the ship were a little too cold for me.

  5. I am sort of new to CC but by reading this thread (and many others like it), it just proves that people will look for something to complain about if there is nothing legitimate. Talk about first world problems....jees! I mean, for the price of a mid range hotel(if not cheaper) you get on a nice ship that provides you with a clean room, all the food you can possibly eat, great entertainment, AND they happen to take you to some of the most beautiful places on earth. But, a few kids in the pool just ruins it for you. Good grief! Seems like a lot of people would be better off to lock themselves in their house and hunker down in a corner with a blanket to protect themselves from all the horrible things in the world like kids in a pool, or noise from a dance club, or smoke from a smoking section, or gluten, or someone saying something in a language other than English, or a bed that's too soft, or too hard, or whatever else people can find to complain about.

  6. We are sailing on the Elation on Oct 7 to Nassau and HMC. Thinking about doing the day pass at the Nassau Hilton. Anyone know the best way to book that? Does it sell out or can you just generally walk up that morning and pay on site. I know it's a while away but just wondering if you need to book it well in advance. Thanks

  7. We cancelled a March cruise 5 days before the final payment date. Had already paid in full. Got everything refunded within 3-4 days except our deposit. We booked on a reduced deposit deal($99 pp) and of that we got $50 credit toward future cruise.

  8. We did this itinerary about a year and a half ago. Cozumel is easy to do on your own, lots of beach clubs, etc. We did stingray city at Grand Cayman, if you've never done it I would highly suggest it. Again, easy to find one on your own for cheaper than through the cruise line. However, Grand Cayman seemed like it would be an easy place to do a beach day or just wander around on your own. Very clean and safe. We went to Doctors Cave Beach at Montego Bay, took a taxi on our own. It was a beautiful beach and had decent facilities and food/drink, but it got very crowded mid day and lots of locals trying to sell stuff, anything from hair braiding to marijuana. Didn't feel unsafe but it did get annoying after a while. If I was gonna just do one excursion I would probably pick Jamaica. Also, the port area at Montego Bay is a dump( at least it was then). Definitely nothing to do around the port.

  9. We went on the Dream a year or so ago in a standard balcony room. We have a cruise booked for the Elation in October in an OV cabin. According to the info I found both rooms are listed at 185 sq ft(not including balcony). By looking at all the pictures and floor plans I have seen, the balcony rooms on the newer ships look noticeably bigger than the OV rooms in the Elation and fantasy class ships . Am I missing something or is this accurate?

  10. Does anyone know if it will get waterworks added to it. I'm looking at either booking her or Ecstasy, and idk if one slide and a small pool will make my 8 year old to happy. Super happy about Guys though.

I've wondered the same thing. I would think with a month long dry dock it would have to be some major upgrades like the water park.

  11. Since kids are full fare on carnival maybe they should demand a kids only pool! Seriously though, if you don't wanna be around kids why would you ever want to go on a family friendly cruise line anyway? I personally enjoy seeing my kids(and others) having a good time. We have been on just a couple of cruises but I never noticed any problems caused by any age children. Saw some drunk @&*^%'s in the casino and bars, but not problem from the kids.

  12. We have been on 2 cruises(1 RC and 1 carnival) and have another planned for this October on the Carnival Elation. If you can't have fun on a cruise you're not gonna have fun anywhere. I asked my kids, 10 and soon to be 7, if they'd rather go back to Disney World or do another cruise and they both picked the cruise without even thinking about it.

  13. Rumor has it they will add some balcony cabins like they did on the Fascination years ago but then again, if that were true, they let us know so people can book them.

If they do would they let us upgrade without charging some kind of change fee. I did find it odd that all but a few of the OV cabins were listed as sold out as far back as a month ago. Maybe they're holding them til they announce the addition of balconies? When I booked I think there was only like 8-9 OV cabins available, none mid ship. Would that be normal to be nearly sold out 7-8 months in advance for an October date?

  14. It was a month long dry dock. When did they change it

Just checked and it is still a month dry dock 8/31-9/27. So one would assume they would do more then just add 2.0

I hope you're correct, I just noticed the dates the previous poster said it would be. We are booked on Oct 7.
