1 hour ago, Flatbush Flyer said:
Please reread my original post. I specifically said "not" the Disneyland badge but, rather a new design that had a large readable name and contrasting background.
After reading 46 posts about silly bloody name tags, some people have lost their sense of humor and can't find their happy pants.
-
My only thought about the OP is that I don't think Oceania employees should wear Disneyland name tags.

A Heavy Bag on a heaving ship? I would hate to just be walking by and BAM! If a ship has one, I might book it and just sit in the gym with a chair and cocktail for the laughs.
-
How do you search for a topic within a cruise line in the boards? As en example; I would like to search within the Oceania board for shuttles in Dublin. I used to be able to do that, but with the rollout of the new look I cant seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance.
-
That was it; I was guaranteed a PH3 or higher...but not specific cabin. Just concerned if we get one of the few cabins under the workout room.
-
Why can you not pick a cabin?
Or are you booking a GTY??
Not sure what a GTY is, but it is a B2B that includes a 21 day portion of a RTW; total of 30 days.
-
On the small ships, has anyone been in a PH3 (deck 8) directly below the gym? We are concerned about noise from treadmills and gym equipment. Looks like it is Starboard side. On the cruise we re booking, they wont let us pick the room yet, just the category. Thanks in advance.

Really more interested in what they are like, not cost.
-
Same question for the small ships?

Here we go again. I used to try to find useful information on Oceania, now just read it for the entertainment.

Every little bit helps. But I wish cruise ships could come up with an alternative to the endless plastic water bottles. I'd happily carry my own if the water onboard came from a reliable source, but it's often not that simple.
Well said. We all can and should do more about saving this wonderful planet. We should all strive to leave this place, better than when we came into it. Little things help, and the cruise lines can participate.

https://www.oceaniacruises.com/find-agent/
The link seems to work, though no telling how up-to-date the agent info is. (edited to add: the info is not recent. One agency listed for my zip code return had a name change 3 years ago)
Seems legit. Our travel agency is on it, but not the actual agent. I cant speak either, for how up to date it is.

No Bose of any vintage in Star Pride's 126 right now.
So was there anything there?
-
Thanks Misty Morning !
Anyone know about if they are new or old models on the Legend?
I am guessing these are not used much.
-
Some of the ships have old Bose models which have the old prong for which you will need an adapter if you have a newer iPod with the lightning cable. However on our last cruise on the Pride last year, they were newer units which are BlueTooth. I still bring cable and adapter just in case
Thanks Misty Morning !

This happens in every cruise line. Ok maybe not Cunard. We saw offenders of the dress code on crystal. Really, who cares?

Well said.

The real point here is that the ships make the rules, enforce the rules, and interpret those rules. The endless (did I mention endless) complaining on Cruse Critic on how each of the complainants interpret their view of the rules is worthless. If someones shoes, slacks, hats (place your complaint here), etc... is bothering you go tell someone who is charge of really determining if the hooligan is not dressed properly and have them see if it violates the policy or simply get over it. I spent 30 years in courtrooms, so really the only opinion that matters is two fold; was the complaint voiced to the right people and did the" judge" agree and deal with it. Cruise Critic is like politics; your not going to change anyones mind on what they are going to wear. So complain to the right people or stop the "endless" complaining here.
-
I enjoy dressing well, as does my wife. The one thing we don't do, is concern ourselves with what others are wearing. When I am on my vacation I have lots of wonderful things on my mind. What shoes others are wearing is not one of them.
-
To busy enjoying my vacation to worry about what other people are wearing.

Going for such a speciality menu devoid of all the principal dishes that the line is famous for is both short sighted and, well, a waste of good money. Id pick a line that dosent focus to much on cuisine as Oceania Your limiting yourself and places like Polo, Jacques, .... will be missed as they are all about meats the same is true with almost every venue.
In short they may offer a "Vegan" menu but you will be limiting your self to less than 10% of what the ship offers.. yet paying full price Think this through, its a terrible waste of money eliminating 90% of the ships benefits for a principal
Most of these "professional posters" are just talking heads and are not helpful. My daughter is a vegan and the food is wonderful and flavorful. Sometimes people need to mind their business and keep opinions to themselves. Knowing this line, I am sure the menu will be tasty. We are looking forward to a review when someone experiences the menu.

We are not new to cruising or Cruise Critic by a long shot. We did book our first Oceania cruise for 29 days later this year. I have never seen a board so full of hate, sarcasm, and arrogance in my 45 years of sailing. This board is full of "professional poster's" that need to take a step back and read the hate they spew before posting. You are not helpful and you are certainly not special because you have
"over 5,000" posts or sailed on this line for "11 or more cruises". If you can't say something nice... well I am sure you are old enough to have passed this one on to your grandchildren. I, like many poster's have said, may be sorry we booked this cruise line. I am sure they are the minority, but like todays news, they seem to complain the loudest about "whatever". There is enough hate "out there", please don't bring it "in here". No, I didn't include how many cruises I have been on, what cruise lines, or my "status" on those lines because if your going to be rude and obnoxious, no one cares. If your are going to be helpful and friendly to fellow passengers for your VACATION, it might. I think I am going back to Windstar.

This is "much ado about nothing". I have learned that what other people do and wear on vacation is their business, I am there to enjoy myself, not concern myself with this superficial craziness. If they violate the hotel or cruise policy, it is up to them to do something about it, not mine. I wish people would move on from this topic.
-
Too late for us, we booked a 29 day trip with another cruise line.
-
Ours comes in a check from the travel agent about week before the cruise and after final payment. The latest check was $1,700 ! Play money for vacation we like to call it.
My quest for a long overdue Oceania change...
in Oceania Cruises

Maybe a business letter or well placed phone call might carry a little more weight than a post on a blog page. Just a suggestion for your crusade. Change Oceania company policy for hundreds of employees by suggesting it on Cruise Critic? On a blog? Using a Micky Mouse name tag? Good luck with that.
