  1. Overall, with one or even two people, the shuttle makes as much sense as an Uber or taxi, particularly if you get it on sale. I think I paid $13.99 for it. With more people, obviously the math changes. I will also say, if you idea of a beach day is walking on the sand and getting your feet wet, it's really nice. There are showers and foot wash stations, so I think I left most of the sand there ...
  2. The ocean was angry and cold and I enjoyed walking along it ... Although my Capri leggings are now wet to the knees ... The path to the beach:
  3. All but two excursion were cancelled - the pontoon boat and the shuttle to Ron Johns. We were supposed to be ashore by 3:15, but it was honestly closer to 4 pm. Its about a 10 minute ride, and the shuttle drops you off between Ron Johns and beach.
  4. Sail into Port Canaveral: Jetty Park: Norwegian Epic: More Epic: Guide boat: The port:
  5. They opened the MDR for lunch, which was really nice. View: Menu: Tomato salad (the tomatoes were sad, evening else is it was good): Gnocchi (this was so good): Not pictured - apple crumble and ice cream ... Very good.
  6. After breakfast, I did a bunch of laps around the top deck, and then met up for card games with some folks in the solarium. Also, am I misremembering, or could you walk the full promenade deck on Enchantment. You can't seem to do that on Vision.
  7. I had oatmeal with peanut butter and pastries at Windjammer. It was good. Windjammer wasn't too bad at 8:15, but it was getting crowded by the time I left:
  8. I was reassigned dining tables again. The food and service was very good, and there was a live pianist. Wedge salad: Butternut squash soup: Salmon: Cookies and ice cream:
  9. Last night's show was Rhythm and Rhyme. Either I know nothing about Broadway (which is true) or the songs they used are not exactly modern hits. It was very pretty and enjoyable, but other than West Side Story, I had no idea what anything was from ...
  10. We made it Port Canaveral and are awaiting clearance. I'll catch everyone up on everything later today ... I'm going ashore once we get clearance.
  11. The captain just made an announcement. The ship participated in the search and rescue operations for approximately six hours until they were called off by the US Coast Guard, who is continuing the search via aircraft. Our current estimated arrival time into Port Canaveral is now 3:00 pm.
  12. Merry Christmas Eve. Current view: Current position - by my rough estimate, assuming this map is correct, we are not getting Port Canaveral by 10 am. We're still over 100 nm away, and traveling about 21 knots. There have been no announcements. To be clear, I completely understand both whatever efforts were taken and that they haven't yet done any overhead announcements so we could sleep.
  13. Around 8:30, the captain said there would be no further updates about the situation, to respect the privacy of those involved. Our speed picked up from about 3.1 knots to 7.5 knots, but we seems to still be doing a figure eights:
