  1. Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I am going to pre-book 2 of the specialty restaurants and leave 1 to book on cruise. I used iConcierge last cruise so hopefully it will help me to make decisions.

As stated before I have a hard time at buffet because I don't like many types of food such as Chinese, German or French just to name a few. And also a lot of sauces turn me off or I just can't try the out.

We went to O Sheehan one last cruise my DH loved prime rib I couldn't even try it. It always looks too fatty!

But love getting dressed and going to dinner going to try to branch out (hopefully)

  2. This has probably been ask before but here goes...are all the menus in the MDR the same across all ships? Also are all days kept in the same order? I will be on Breakaway in May and found a website that lists all menus day by day and are current for 2016. The reason for my question I am trying to decide which days to book specialty restaurants. In a few days we will be 90 days till sailing so I can book my 3 specialty restaurants. The reason for my questions are I'm a very picky eater and would hate to miss something I like in MDR because I'm dinning in the Cagney's or elsewhere. Then have a night I have no specialty restaurants booked and there is nothing on MDR menu that will work for me. Just trying to plan ahead me and DH love to eat in MDR or restaurant in the evening so I don't want to have to go to buffet for dinner. Sometimes at lunch there is nothing even at the buffet that I would choose to eat.

  3. I have cruised a few times before and I am currently booked on Breakaway in May but after ready so many tips here on CC I wonder is it best to book early or late if you want best price? Especially if your not picky about getting a certain cabin we usually just like a balcony but if price was to hard to pass up and only thing that was avaliable was an inside or outside I would consider it. Any advice would be helpful also is best to use travel agent or book thru website. We always went thru website because my thinking was travel agent marks up a cruise to make their commission.

  4. I was on Breakaway 2015 and O'Sheehan's had chicken pot pie but I don't remember chicken and waffles being on menu. I hear on here on different thread that O'Sheehan's changed their menu??? Will definitely check it out in May when I'm on Breakaway again.

  5. Hi. As you folks seem to helpful, I thought I'd ask a couple questions here. New to NCL, leaving on Escape in two weeks. 1. The Specialty restaurants. I keep reading suggestions about some of them being available for free for breakfast and/or lunch. Is this true, which ones? 2. The comedy club - reserve? How/when? 3. We will be coming off Carnival Glory then going to Escape. Can we walk over, with our luggage? Can we just bring our luggage with us on the ship or do you recommend giving it to the luggage destroyers out front? We are taking it with us on Carnival. Have seen too many suitcases destroyed on other cruises. Also, getting a bit concerned about the number of people on this large ship. Reading peoples' reviews about getting on the ship. Some number system. I'm assuming we show up at our designated time and line up, and get on, and start having fun. Any suggestions for NCL newbes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you thank you.

I can only speak about number 2 yes booking for comedy show is a must you csn only get in with a reservation. I was on Breakaway and didn't book a comedy show early enough and it filled up and couldn't get in. They always say you can show up and wait to see if someone with reservation doesn't the they will take walk ups in. I have never heard about or checked about breakfast or lunch in specialty restaurants. My cruise was full but boat didn't seem crowded other than pool but that's same on every boat. We did enjoy listening to a certain singer (can't remember her name) and she preformed in atrium and it would get crowded wish they would have moved her to a larger spot. You will have a great time.

  6. Booked on Breakaway in May I need to lose about 60lb. I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and lost 10 lbs but still have 60 lbs to go. Hubby needs to lose 50 lbs also weight watchers is so expensive over 200 for both of us...but so tired of being tired. Other cruises I have been on we just go to sightsee and I'm so hot, tired and cranky that I can't wait to get back to boat to take a nap. I refuse to be like that for this cruise. Hope I can get on track and it warms up here so I can start to walk again. Good luck to everyone else here!
