  1. In Oct 2022 while on Iona a new brochure had just come out and we booked a round trip Caribbean for Oct 2024 at the price of £6972 (deluxe balcony) Today the price is £12300 and with slightly less OBC
  2. I have just confirmation that my £150 OBC has been successfully applied to our cruise in October. That took 3 days
  3. It's not working that quickly for me. I applied yesterday (5th march) for a cruise this coming October. Stoclperks have confirmed that they have successfully submitted it to P&O and I should hear back in 5 days but heard nothing yet.
  4. Selbourne. You have mentioned that you have cancelled two excursions recently and the timing seemed to me that you gave less than the three days notice which is required to get a refund (less 10% admin). Did you get the refund on them both. I ask as we might be in a position where we need to cancel a Northern lights excursion in March because of the weather
  5. Sindhu is still showing in my cruise personaliser for our Norway cruise on 12th March
  6. Selbourne, thanks for writing up your excellent blog on a regular basis. I have taken an extra interest, especially in ship matters, as we are on Aurora in two cruises time to Norway. We have not been on Aurora but did go on Oriana 25 years ago. So 1000 plus replies to your ‘Letter from’, How many will it be by the time you get back to Southampton?!! As an aside, do you still get a free cake with coffee at Raffle
  7. Iona has a much bigger capacity in the MDR's as it has two large ones and two smaller ones while Arvia has only the two larger ones the smaller ones given over now to paid for restaurants. I have not been on Arvia but my son and his family have and they said it was difficult and time-consuming in sometimes getting a table in the MDR. We had no problems on the two times when we were on Iona, the second time the ship was full.
  8. With plenty of port days coming up can you make sure you get the prom deck welding workers on it PDQ !! Now the Crow's Nest A/Con we are less concerned about. We are on Aurora on 12th March (R403N) to Norway, not sure we'll need the A/C at the North Cape 😄 To the serious issue of cutting out the cakes and sandwiches in Raffles....... can you and Selbourne stop eating them all and leave some for us LOL
  9. From my past sailing experience perspective it would always be more logical to go on a route north of Cuba and Dom.Rep. It would add on quite a lot sea miles tracking south. It is more or less a straight line from where you are to San Juan.
  10. Perhaps a silly question but why don't you ask for a pot of tea. Not the MDR I know but that's what I got every breakfast in Epicurean
  11. We missed a port on our Iona cruise last October. We were due into Cadiz but this got changed to Cherbourg because of weather. So we had the same number of ports. Nationwide with the extra cruise cover refunded us £300 for the two of us for missing Cadiz
  12. Further to my earlier problems Shareperks have come back to me and accepted my OBC request. I do not know which of the two attempts I made to force it through or a message on their app, which worked. Just had confirmation from TA and attached new invoice from P&O showing the OBC
  13. Well true to my earlier fears of this Stocksperk not working has turned out to be true. My first attempt was rejected as my dividend statement was too old. I then managed to get Equiniti to send me confirmation of my Carnival shares and they replied with letter in the timeframe they said. Upload it to SP and had an acknowlegement that I would get a reply in two days. That never happened so I sent a message to them via the app and still no reply. Next stage I duplicated a copy of the share confirmation I have again I am awaiting a reply. I think my next step is to contact the carnival share desk at P&O (old system) and demand they sort it out, I have 54 days to the cruise
  14. Phil. Thank you. Yes that is what I have done using my shareholder ref. no. and can see my Carnival share holding. I had never registered or log in to Equiniti before
  15. I have just spoken to Equiniti and a very helpful lady tried to steer me to access my shares but unfortunately it can not be done on line. She is now sending by post confirmation of my share holding so hopefully that will do the trick with Shareperks.
  16. I have just had a reply from Stockperks and as I suspected it has not gone well. Don't know what to do next, go back to them, contact P&O shareholder benefit or see if I can get something from Equiniti. I have not had any documentation in the last three months. I now only have 8 weeks to get this sorted. Never had problems getting OBC before Unfortunately, per the validation rules we have from our clients, we had to reject your submission because it was too old. Can you follow the same upload process in the app but with legible recent images of your documentation (from the last 3 months)? These images should show: your name (that matches the Stockperks user name) the brokerage’s name date of the documentation the number of shares you own in companies offering perks via Stockperks
  17. It does annoy me when companies change something to the inconvenience of customers. I applied for the shareholder OBC four days ago. I have just been advised by email that I should use this Stockperks app. I can not find my share certificate and I'm not sure I even had one as I assume it is held by Equiniti. I have taken a picture of the latest share dividend confirmation (2020). This shows my ref. no. and current address. We'll see what happens, I'm not expecting it to progress smoothly.
  18. To carlanthony24 Could you please access the port times time for our next cruise. P&O R403N to Norway 12th March 2024 to 28th This has three ports with overnights but the dates overlap? Thanks
  19. Pete. Thanks for the informative posts on your Norway cruise. We are doing something similar on R403N next year so look with interest to your blog. I noticed on Marinetracker that Aurora went between the islands of Vanna and Arnoya and promptly did a U turn, do you know why the ship went this way?
  20. We were on Iona last month. Our butler was superb. (Dinesh) He always managed to get us booked into restaurants (both MDR and speciality) and shows even if they were showing fully booked on the 'myholiday' app. And always at a time of our choosing. 710 club was always fully booked well ahead but he got us into there as well.
  21. Presto, absolutely right. We all need some exposure to build up our resistance to germs and bacteria. I don't need to be wrapped up in cotton wool just a nice big fluffy towel 😄
  22. She has been at the Flynn cruise terminal since she came into Boston although I think she may have been moved one berth along at the same cruise terminal . I am following as we have friends on board
  23. Having just spoken to my TA she has given an explanation . R403 was not originally made available to the public as a cruise. The time slot was reserved for a private charter but it got cancelled. P&O then had 16 days to fill and so came up with R403N to Norway. I think it is a bit of a one off with an unusual itinerary which we were immediately attracted to when I saw it on Sunday. We have now booked a balcony deluxe and also booked our excursions.
  24. Coaches are limited with a governor to 62.5mph (100 kph) It is possible to go faster than this if on a long downhill slope.
  25. Yes the brochure I have here at home shows a gap at R403. I see this is now available as R403N to Norway. Good to hear that she is in good shape
