@jsCruise was great and would definitely book the same cabin again! Loved being close to the waterfront, restaurants, and steps away from the DBH (spent a lot of time there with the fantastic bar staff!). Didn't get a lot of opportunity to use the huge balcony (2 loungers, bigger table with chairs) d/t cooler temps but will be great for you in July. We hate fighting the chair hogs and don't have to with a balcony this large. I have a couple of pictures if that would be helpful. Full disclosure, there was some "bass" noise from the theater shows at 7p and 930p, but we were either in and out of the cabin during those times or just reading so wasn't a big deal for us. Hope you enjoy your cruise!

I would love to see some pictures of 8748. I have that cabin booked for 11/12.

it was a nice restaurant, but not what we wanted. We had said we wanted something simple and fast more than once, and when he said BBQ, we figured he understood. And yes, it was gold bars he was pushing.

Yeah, it was not what we were expecting from the way he described the food.

We just got back from Cuba and had booked a 3 hour classic car tour and a 3 hour car tour through HavanaCar.net.  Stefano was excellent in getting back to us promptly, and answered all my questions.  Victor was an excellent car tour guide, I'd recommend him.

However, we got Osvy as our walking tour guide, and I would not recommend him.  It seemed like he was getting kickbacks from different places that he pushed.  I wanted authentic Cuban food and he took us to a fancier restaurant than we wanted with a doorman.  He said it was BBQ. We kept asking if it was expensive and he said no, but we were limited on how many CUCs we had.  We ended up ordering appetizers for $9.  All I could get was tuna on lettuce, no dressing and my husband got four small pieces of Bruschetta.  He kept trying to get us to buy tickets for some night spot even though we kept saying no.  And he kept giving us business cards to sell things.  I was very disappointed in the walking tour.

Sounds like the same guide we had. He was a little pushy with his side jobs (selling gold or something like that?). We enjoyed the place he took us to eat, the food was delicious. Luckily we had plenty of money for lunch even tho it was more expensive than we were expecting. The rest of the tour he was great, very informative.

  4. We did the 3 hour walking tour and 3 hour convertible tour combo last Wednesday (3/27/19). The whole thing was great and our tour guide was very friendly and informative. I highly recommend this company and this tour to everyone. Much cheaper to book directly compared to what the cruiselines charge. Worth every penny!

  5. I had the unlimited internet last month on the Epic. I didn't try face timing or making any kind of internet calls. It worked fine for social media, messaging apps, and email. I couldn't stream any videos, even videos on Facebook wouldn't load. I was able to upload pictures with no issues. I really have no complaints tho, sometimes it was a little slow but I wasn't expecting super fast speeds in the middle of the ocean.

  6. If you have Windows 10, you can use more than one device simultaneously.

Just sign into your computer and start the internet connection with the ship.

Then click on the wifi bars on the bottom right, and then click Mobile Hotspot.

Then right click and go to Settings to set up a password.

Then you will see it pop up for other devices as a possible connection, just use the password you set, and there you go.

Computer must be on and connected to the internet for this to work.

This is correct. Don't bother with the concierge.

Go directly to the internet manager.

There is some ship-to-ship variance on what they do, but if the Epic internet manager refuses, tell them that they are currently doing this on the Escape, and tell them to contact the Escape's internet manager to verify.

If you have a Windows machine, you can also use two devices at the same time by using the "broadcast" feature of Windows 10. Just click on the Wifi symbol at the bottom right, then click on "Mobile Hotspot". (Right click on Mobile Hotspot to set it up the first time). Once it turns blue, it's on, and you can connect another device to your laptop.

This WORKED for me on the Escape, as well.

I knew this was an option but figured they would block the ability somehow. Or they would catch me doing that and disable my internet all together. lol

  7. Our first cruise was last December, just a short 3-night weekend cruise (we weren't sure if we'd like it) on RCL Majesty of the Seas. Well...we loved it! Our next cruise is next week on the Epic to the Western Caribbean. We also have another booked already for next September to Bermuda out of NYC on the Escape. So addicting! I want to book more and already thinking of ideas for 2019, maybe Alaska.

  8. It's not on the list of prohibited items. I think if it is smallish, there should be no problem to bringing it with you. It doesn't heat. I know that on the Jade last month there were lots of announcements about not leaving items plugged in when you were out of your cabin; mostly that seemed to be about charging electronics. We were able to leave our clock plugged in without any issue, however. So, I think if you just unplug it when you are out, you should be fine.

Great, thank you. I think I will get a small fan and at least try. I also have a white noise app on my phone, just in case. We sail next month. :)

  9. my fan is so old it runs on batteries! i also bring a clip on fan w/ an extension cord.. i need the air, i am always warm!:p

There was an old post about fans where someone said NCL guest services may provide one if you ask for it.. i tried to verify that, but they were clueless. so i bring my own... carry it on or it may end up in the naughty room . (even though it's not on the naughty list.)

I want to bring a fan that plugs in but had read that they weren't allowing them. We are always hot too. On our last cruise, our room was so warm even with the AC turned down all the way. We slept uncovered most of the night, I need the air circulation. lol

  10. that depends where your cabin is located, and what type of cabin it is... i always bring a small battery operated fan (because i'm always hot) .

Does the fan last all night long? I have been looking into fans since I am so used to sleeping with one blowing on me at night. But most of them only last a few hours on a charge.

  11. I'm also interested in the packages offered - tiers/minutes/etc, since we sail in 20 days (but who's counting, lol)!

Our booking comes with 250 minutes of wi-fi included. Can I assume that will be 250 minutes of the LOWEST level (speed) tier? If so, are there upgrade options?

    THANKS

I have read in other threads where people that had the free 250 minutes were able to upgrade onboard to the unlimited for less than $100. That upgrade price depends on how long your cruise is, obviously.

  12. Not NCL, but I still can't believe this happened - I was on a NASCAR fan cruise and the ship ran out of beer on the second day and had to wait until we got to port in Nassau to restock! A lot of unhappy passengers...

    Hahaha...I bet that wasn't pretty.

    Here's the video...

You can't hear anything besides background noise in the video, so I added music.

Odd. I am surprised they let him act like that. I would stay far away from that guy. lol
