We are sailing on the Seashore in 30 days. Can anyone tell me if there are lighted, magnifying mirrors in the bathroom? We are trying to travel light & I’d prefer to leave mine at home. Thanks, Pat

We have booked with goport. The package includes airport to hotel shuttle, 1 night stay in Orlando airport hotel, shuttle from hotel to port canaveral cruise port, and shuttle from cruise port back to airport. I read the reviews, which were mixed, so I called the hotel directly and asked their opinion. They gave goport a 10/10. Works for me! Was about $300 all in for 2 adults for a basic hotel.

The only excursion we wanted to do at ocean cay was the glow paddle boarding & it’s sold out! Is there any way to be on a cancellation list? If so, how do I do it? Do more spots ever open up? Dang! This was one of the reasons for picking this particular cruise.

In doing a quick search, there are lots of balcony cabins available but only 5 or 6 ocean views. Maybe I’ll cross my fingers and hope that MSc likes me enough to upgrade me free!
-
Thanks Essiesmom. still trying to decide on upgrade coincidentally, my boss just asked me to work overtime in December (in health care & closed for 10 days over Christmas so trying to clear backlog before then). Decision may have just been made! Overtime pay put to good use!

Cruise is 49 days away on the seashore on deck 13 aft. It looks like passenger decks above & below. But it also shows 2 black squares which means 2 overhead berths which I assume is quad. Why is that a bad thing? I don’t like it when decisions come down to $$ but that’s my situation this year.

I booked a Bella inside & have just received an offer to upgrade. On the email it states my cabin number - I had no idea one had already been assigned to me! I like the location of that cabin if indeed this is where I’ll ultimately be. To upgrade to Oceanview is minimum $60 CAD pp. But those are all on deck 5 under or over potentially noisy areas. I’m concerned about claustrophobia in my inside so I’m struggling with my decision. But that $60pp could pay for an excursion. Dang, I don’t like being on such a strict budget! I’ve read fabulous stories of folks booking Bella interiors & magically getting a balcony! A girl can dream, right? What would you do?

We are flying into Orlando & sailing out of port canaveral the next day so are looking for hotel recommendations. Is it better to stay in Orlando or go straight to Port Canaveral? We are on a budget. Also looking for transportation/shuttle services. thanks

We’re booked on the Seashore January 14. I’d love to see photos, menus & dailies if anyone chooses to post them!
-
I’d have to make final payment immediately as we’re travelling in February. I may take a chance and wait till Black Friday, although my ta insists prices will only go up from here.
-
She’s put a hold on the cabin, I think for a few days, which won’t get me to Black Friday or cyber Monday. Will MSC honour a price drop? Experienced cruiser here, but first time on MSC.
-
I was quoted $1018 for a guaranteed Oceanview for a 4 day Feb cruise by my ta. When I called her today to give the go-ahead the price had jumped to $1258. I’m hoping it goes back to 1018 for Black Friday. if this is true, then my first MSc experience has already left a bad taste.
-
When my ta presented a 4 night cruise on Seashore 2 days ago, it was $1018 for a guaranteed Oceanview. Today, when I gave her the go ahead, the price had jumped to $1258. That’s more than 20% in 2 days! Is this so MSC can offer “deals” for Black Friday? Unfortunately, I was already at the top end of my budget and now it’s more than I can handle. Drats! It was to be a Christmas present for my daughter and I.
-
I don’t like that it all comes down to money, but this year that’s my reality. And my daughter will appreciate whatever she gets & wherever she travels. She’s an awesome gal that way. Still looking for Black Friday sales. I appreciate all the feedback! Pat

Yacht club? I’m betting that comes with a higher price tag, no?
-
Thanks for the honest reply. In fairness, we aren’t looking for glamour, although decent food would be nice. It’s more a nice getaway for mom & daughter after what has been a challenging year.

I’m hoping to buy a short cruise for my daughter & I as a Christmas gift to her. Budget is tight. TA found an incredible deal on MSC Magnifica. I have previously cruised Disney, Royal, carnival, NCL & most recently, Celebrity. How does MSC compare? There would be 2 days at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. But, dd is not much of a lie-on-the-beach kinda gal. She likes exploring new places, especially places with animals. Thoughts? Thanks for any input, Pat

I brought a light pashmina to dinner and most nights it was draped around the chair, not around me. It’s easy to carry so I tend to bring it with me as I don’t like feeling cold. That being said, I didn’t need it in the MDR. But I loved having it wandering the ship after dark-it was breezy most nights.

I didn’t have a problem with the pillows. My friend in another cabin did and was brought a variety from the room steward to try. He did find one that was good.

The NASA speaker was Jim Kennedy. He has a website & was fascinating to hear.

We had a similar incident on another cruise line (not carnival). It was a family and the dad and both boys, ages about 8 & 10, were dressed in sleeveless t’s, frayed jean shorts & baseball caps on backward. Voices got louder as the meal progressed with bathroom jokes being loudly told with lots of fart noises & f bombs. We asked the maitre’d to intervene. He shrugged & said he had already tried, to no avail. Thank goodness the family left before our main course arrived.
-
Yes, there were 2. I’ve forgotten names but one had two presentations: one on history of comedy & the other on Robin Williams. The other speaker was a retired nasa mission specialist who spoke twice. He was excellent.

I’m the op. I wasn’t dissing celebrity-in fact most of my review was very positive. I did witness first hand men & women in shorts. I’m not sure why anyone would think I made it up just to be negative. Folks in shorts behaved well so that wasn’t my issue. I really don’t have a problem with dress shorts, my issue is that X clearly states the dress code in big letters at the restaurant entrance & in the daily planner. Why publicize a rule so strongly and not enforce it?

We stayed at the Hilton & took the NCL shuttle. Walking thru the shopping plaza would have been easier & faster! We asked politely & got a room on the 21st floor overlooking the cruise port. Fabulous hotel with great staff and an awesome bar!
